Stiff Competition
Man, I just can't do it. I admit the guy is a talented singer and this song is pretty good but the way he essentially imitates Scott on stage kills me. They announced a show at a venue I dig out here for this tour and I just couldn't bring myself to buy tickets. I love the brothers and Kretz but seeing them without Scott doesn't work for me. I was thrilled to see Joe Perry's album release show last year with both the brothers in the band because I was super stoked to see them again but outside of "STP". 2
BadApples87
I was a big fan of STP. Core was one of the best of the 90's. I was a big fan of Velvet Revolver also. I saw both of those bands with Scott twice each. Then, a friend of mine scored tickets to see AIC, Bush, The Cult, and STP last Summer. Sorry, but the new STP singer tries to hard to be a copy of Scott. At least the AIC new singer kinda does his "thing" and plays guitar. Not a fan of new STP singer. It was like watching a tribute STP band.
nycgunner
The song is nice - thanks for posting this. I'd be inclined to go to this show, assuming ticket prices are reasonable. Surprised all of the pre-sale tickets to the two NYC shows are sold out.

I feel like the brothers are sort of guiding that ship and telling him these things to sort of sell it as STP even more so. I saw Scott around 30 times live between VR, STP and solo. He is irreplaceable.
vloors
Great new single but agree the singer is a scott clone. Saying that I do find him a good fit for the band. Better fit than what chester was.

He is irreplaceable. 30 times! That's impressive. I agree Scott is very much irreplaceable. He was in VR and definitely is in STP. I saw STP at a Festival last year. Jeff Gutt was an impressive frontman but very much a Scott clone. He was very interactive with fans. I feel for him a bit. I think they'd win over fans with some kind of Scott tribute at shows. Nothing too much but maybe mention his name and dedicate a song to him. That's up to the DeLeo brothers to do that. To be fair to Jeff he was the only one on stage showing some energy. The brothers were dull as dishwater.
