Slash is fucking around with the riff, he then kicks into the riff but he plays it with such a loose "free time" Matt is unsure whether he's seriously starting the song. Matt does come in late when he realises Slash is actually serious in trying to start the song though. Matts late, but Slash completely sandbagged him. Slash was trashed at that gig, immediately when the main riff kicks in he hits another clunker... it wasn't his best playing. I'm sure everyone on that stage with the exceptions of Izzy and Axl were all very drunk/high but Slash might have taken home the gold medal that night. Izzy treats Matt’s entrance as the downbeat, and tentatively joins (notice he didn’t actually come in with Matt).
