Rumor: Some members may be out of the band?

Recommended Posts

Frank = By far, the worst drummer Gn'R ever had..

Agreed. I'll never see why people think Matt is the worst drummer. Frank's playing is so stale.

But that aside, it's not like the possibility of a few members leaving is even big news anymore. GNR doesn't really have any artistic relevancy in my eyes at all. CD was meh and CD II (If it ever gets released at all) will be meh too. It's obvious that all of the members are just in it for the money; All of them (Save for Frank and Pitman) have other ventures in which they express their true musical chops. Richard and Dizzy are in the Dead Daises, Assba is in Sixx A:M, Tommy's back with the Replacements and BBF has a solo career nobody cares about. If they leave, Axl will just find other people he can pay to fill in the spaces. It's a fucking joke.

GNR should either have a full-blown reunion or adjust their lineup into something that's actually worthwhile. If Frank and Tommy were to leave, I'd love to see Duff and Matt/Brain come back into the fold. I'd also give Ashba and Pitman the axe and let BBF and Richard do a dual-guitar lead.

Oh I guess I'm back by the way. I got logged out of the forum and I was too lazy to find my login credentials again.

GNR became irrelevant in 2007.

Frank and Matt are both terrible drummers. LOL at people who think Frank is good. LOL. Nothing but an elevated roadie. One of the best rock drummers ever :rofl-lol:

Indeed. Matt might possibly be the worst replacement of a classic member in existence. He only has competition from Finck.

Are you saying GN'R of 2007 were relevant, trotting out the hits with a covers band? Face facts, the band have not been relevant since Cobain. Axl's tedious Seymour melodramas became outdated over night as the kids moved on to other music. The new band are a sort of, joke.

Hell, as far as replacements overall go, Matt only has competition from Finck, DJ and Frank.

I love it when Nirvana nerds try to rewrite history.

I dislike Nirvana immensely but facts are facts. Are you saying that Axl, with his Elton regal jacket and a couple of oranges shoved down his white kegs, or indeed (just to show this is not an Axl tirade), Slash perched on a cliff pulling 'guitar god' shapes, was relevant in 1991? GN'R only had relevancy for a brief period in the 1980s, by eschewing the aesthetics of the time and putting over, a 'dangerous' persona. After 1991 they were just commercialised stadium thumpers with an idiot singer. After 1993 they were dead, only a handful of retards such as us caring.

Not a huge fan of Matt either although he did have a few moments on UYI's.. Actually his drumming on Libertad wasn't bad..

Adler

Brain?? And I hardly even know his drummimg.

Sorum

Frank - The videos I have seen were painful to watch with him.

Off topic but if there ever was a reunion of sorts, I would nominate Brent Fitz as the drummer. His drumming on WOF is pretty bad ass and would be a better fit than Sorum, Frank or Brain...

Must be why the Illusions sold so shitty. Nirvana killed Guns. The band imploding had nothing to do with its demise. If I wasn't at work I'd have more time for this stupidy, but alas, I don't. I'll get back to you later.

Brain is the best person to have ever sat behind the drums onstage with Axl Rose.

This is how the world ends...not with a bang, but with a whimper.

I think the most likely scenario, based on everything that's happened over the last 20 years, is that this is finally it. The "band" is done.

Axl played his last public performance on June 7th, 2014.

Unless he's seriously desperate for some more spending money, what could possibly be motivating him to go back out there and sing the same old songs, only older and fatter and with no voice?

I think we've heard the last from him.

My sources tell me (voices in my head) that no one is out of the band and Axl will get the (same) show on the road soon, with Bumble still as butthurt as ever, Tommy like out of the set of the Walking Dead, and Axl still fatter then ever. Don't worry, everything is fine fine fine.

I agree with your overall point, but your dates are all fucked up.

Even as late as 1992, they were still the biggest rock band in the world. Either them or U2.

They still were through to July 17th 1993

REUNION!!!!

Now is the time!!!!

Honestly, at this point I would want a reunion more than anything and then CDII leaked or released as an afterthought.

I wouldn't have said that even 2- 3 years ago, but the over exposed touring and inability to move forward in the past 4 years have really hurt this band. Besides, the band itself doesn't even seem to care- Ron is happy to do his solo work and unhappy with GNR, Richard and Dizzy have the Dead Daisies and solo/session work, Tommy has alcohol and the replacements, Chris Pitman and Frank seem like they are just along for the ride, and even DJ has Sixx AM and his media company. A reunion would at least spark some sort of fire, give them something to prove, and get the world's attention at least a little bit. I really think they could come up with something great. World on Fire was awesome, and Izzy and Duff are always consistent. Throw Axl into the mix and there is no way a new album would be bad.

I still want to hear CDII but I don't care if it gets a major release anymore.

Yes yes!!! Come to the reunion side, it is the only place where Guns n' Roses exist anymore.

How about turning GNR into a family affair.

The Lebeis family has been bleeding him dry for decades now, how about getting some use out of them.

Get them music lessons and have them play instruments to cover the songs live. Fernando on lead guitar, Vanessa on bass, Beta making Pitman's weird noises, Jarmo on drums during live shows.

Axl would never have to worry about line-up changes again, and could turn GNR into the monster he always envisioned.

It's absurd he calls it GNR anyway, so why not just go the distance and really commit like this.

I honestly think a reunion would be the only thing that would light a fire under Axl's ass and get him to give 100% again. People would go apeshit over it still and he could feed off that energy.. Slash is playing better than ever and maybe that would give him a bit of a charge as well.. Maybe it would motivate them all to get in shape and kick some ass. Duff could get Slash and Axl into bootcamp hahah.. Axl really needs to get in shape, I think that would do worlds for his motivation, confidence, stage presence, voice and performance...

No pressure of a new album..

Play the entire Appetite album from front to back, throw in a jam and 10 more random songs.. See how it goes..
