MGM Grand 727 from UYI Tour - Today!

Cool vids!

I randomly heard this thing about Airports on the radio and figure that some in this thread may find it intriguing. This poet wrote a collection using only the 3 letter call signs of airports (i.e. YYZ), linked together to form words and sentences. What I found neat was that they also made visual representations of the airports used in any given poem - and, in some cases, drawing lines between the various airports created images that correspond with the meaning of the poem, or just travel and location itself. The airports used to form a poem made an arrow when linked together, for instance!

Was Izzy gone by the time they got the plane?  If so, that's a shame.

No idea when they started using it. I was lucky enough to see Izzy’s last show at Wembley Stadium in August 91 though. He was sober by then and I think he travelled alone to keep away from that scene.

Yeah, he was traveling separately from the band by that point.  I was just messing around referencing Izzy's past airliner escapade. 😄

That was actually really cool. So obsessed with everything to do with the UYI-era, and Tour. That plane is true rock n’ roll history. Kind of thing IMHO the RNRHOF should scoop up for pennies on the dollar (even just the cabin/“bar” area as a display, etc.). Not too many legendary RnR “relics” out there any more (at least from the late 60s-early 90s “golden era”)- but that is definitely one of ‘em...
