You could listen to it without bursting out laughing. I'll take a winded Axl singing PC at the 2002 VMA's over Axl's horrendous "Yesterdays" performance at 2017 RIR any day.

Maybe, there surely are certain levels, but if you listen to stuff like SCOM from those individual eras, there won't be much of a difference, not for a casual fan.

2002 had no Mickey, let alone "full on" Mickey. It was a very weak, clean voice. Mickey appeared at Rio 2011.

Doesn't matter how you call it, it was still a weird lame voice used in places where classic Axl rasp should have been but wasn't.

I don't think so. Axl, Duff and Slash were three of the four writers (not counting Steven's drums) who birthed Appetite and the Illusions. They're also the same three that were there during the band's Illusion era, which was their absolute peak as far as success goes. So to see them trailing the same band that were responsible for that '02 VMA disaster and subsequent canceled tour, is absolutely mind-boggling. You really gotta fuck up to fall that far.

    Sorry, I read it wrong.

It had "new" music but it was Axl's worst tour. How many shows did it take until he sang all the lyrics to YCBM, or hit the notes in the Better bridge? NITL had plenty of flaws but overall it was better than WFB.

If 2009-2011 gets voted out next I will lose all faith in this forum. What the fuck are you people smoking?

It's gonna have to be the next one to go right after WFB and 01/02. Because 06/07 was just too good and anything from the old era is unthinkable for now.

Does the Hell Tour include Bridge School?

    It was their first tour.

Actually the "Use Your Illusions Tour" was from '91 to '92, '93 was the "Skin and Bones Tour".

And you guys forgot the "Hell Tour"

I think it could be considered included in "the early days" above.

  6. Definitely not OMG (why on earth would they do that? I do like the song, but it’s already been officially released once; also, it’s not that much more "complex" as compared to HS) and probably/hopefully not Atlas either. People are obsessed with the idea that it has to be something from the Village and sounding the most finished. But we know about other studios. E.g. when Axl said OMG had been revamped, that was somewhere else, and we have no recording of that, yet it exists.
If it's an older song from Axl’s era, why not something like The General (whatever that’ll turn out to be).
