  1. No, immediately insulting someone (who actually knows Axl and others in the band, unlike us) for liking a meme and making it seem like they've betrayed Axl is not just empathy, it's crazy.
  2. It's this picture, taken at Folsom prison which is like 20 miles from Sacramento.
  3. The meme thing in 2016 makes sense because of the timing, but who knows what he thinks about stuff like the Benny Hill videos. Either way, it's weird when people get offended on behalf of someone else. Judging by how he acts on stage, he knows he looks good now and has confidence. I'd like to think he can see the humour, it's not simply malicious like the fat Axl ones, and he looks good for his age now.
  4. and Dave Grohl at Glastonbury. Yea, the point of this festival was that it's a 'once in a lifetime' kind of thing, I think most people were hoping for something special but so far only AC/DC has given that (debuts of PWR UP songs, Riff Raff, longer than normal set, etc).
  5. This is more lighthearted than the Fat Axl memes, and he appears to be more chill these days. Like @DoMw94 said, if he doesn't find it funny he probably just brushes it off. He doesn't seem as angry as he used to be...
  6. What the fuck is wrong with you? What part of liking a video, that's clearly intended to be funny, is harassment? I'm genuinely curious. For all we know, even Axl gets a chuckle out of videos like that. Whether or not people find it funny isn't the point, Axl running around to the Benny Hill theme is clearly lighthearted.
  7. I wonder if Maynard also heard/watched the GNR set? https://www.instagram.com/p/CyJhSalpeGB/
  8. Absolutely agree. Wichita has been a highlight of the show for a long time, I can see why people find it boring but I think it's great. I'd definitely prefer a fresh studio recording of Wichita over more frankensteined CD leftovers, it suits Axl's voice very well.
  9. They should hit the stage in about 25 minutes
  10. Yea, everything MSL posted in that 2-3 minute 'teaser' back in 2013(?) eventually leaked. TIL remix has some of Axl's best vocals IMO, I heard the song in 2014 but was stoked when it finally leaked in 2018. It's been a while since I read that RS article but it was... entertaining. I'm excited but cautiously optimistic for The General. There's still a chance it will be like Absurd/Perhaps and have verses repeating throughout the song, or it will be too long to fit on a 7" record without distortion, but I'm hoping it's the best NITL song so far...
  11. Yea, I thought San Juan 2010 leaked a bit earlier than that other stuff, but I could've mentioned it too. Also the unreleased video for I Don't Care About You.
  12. Basically the "Village leaks" in 2019 was like a 2000 Intentions vault dump. About 20~ songs with vocals and couple dozen instrumentals. There was a few mixes of Atlas in there, my favourite is the 2001 mix. Some weird stuff like an acoustic studio rehearsal of KOHD, some stuff that was obviously scrapped like Eye On You, and very bare-bones ideas like Nothing. Quick Song has scratch vocals, but there's like 20 different Buckethead solo takes. It was a very interesting time capsule for CD fans. About a year before that we got (at least some of) the remix album, House Of Blues 2001 pro shot, Saskatoon 1993 pro shot, Ritz 1987 pro shot, and some other random stuff (including Absurd and OMG with Bumblefoot). The General has never leaked, aside from a terrible-quality, incomplete cell phone recording.
  13. You were close. The official artwork has finally leaked:
  14. I joined the forums in 2006 after reading the Rolling Stone interview with Axl and hearing clips of Better. I knew the old songs, but that was when I really got interested in the new stuff. CD.com was probably the most entertaining forum at the time but the community as a whole was a lot of fun, and of course a lot more active than it is now. Listening to all those 2002-2006 shows was really interesting, and the MSL leaks were pure insanity. There was a time when I played those leaks, and shows like Rock Am Ring or Budokan, almost every day. I still think the first half of 2010 was the CD lineup's peak as a live band, and I'm really glad I got to see them on the Canada tour. That Calgary show is still by far the best GNR show I've seen. Axl was still his classic, crazy, unpredictable self, Ron had improved massively since 2006, and even DJ was enjoyable. I still enjoyed the shows I saw from 2011-14 but of course it was a steady decline... but I saw Duff join them in 2011 and Izzy in 2012, which definitely made up for the band/Axl not being as good. Rio was obviously a disaster, though Axl did have some good shows in late 2011-early 2012. I felt bad for Ron though, touring after a car accident, obviously in a lot of pain, obviously very frustrated, but felt he had to go on tour. But as pissed off as he was, he was always great to fans.
  15. He's scrapped the material that they're still releasing this month? Ok then. You've answered your own question about writing another YCBM style track. Slash and Duff have been back 8 years and haven't written anything aside from mediocre solo songs, but yea, Steven fucking Adler is gonna help them write a brand new smash hit. Pure delusion. Even if they brought back Izzy or Steven, what the hell makes people think they'd come close to recapturing the old sound? It's not gonna happen
  16. Frankfurt also thinks that if Steven/Matt came back, not only would they write another YCBM, they'd convince Axl to scrap all the CD leftovers. Don't expect anything other than delusion from some people here...
  17. I tuned in about half way through Anything Goes, and Axl sounds a bit better than usual. Absurd and DOTF sound strong, and Better was better than expected. Looking forward to videos of PTU and Perhaps from this show...
  18. If they wanted to maximize profit from old music, it would probably be a lot easier for them to sell old pro-shots, live audio, documentaries, etc. to streaming platforms. But they don't even seem interested in doing that, nevermind actually reuniting with those guys.
  19. There's a Reece's Pieces joke in there somewhere...
  20. They're still headlining festivals and they're charging more for tickets now than they were in 2016. Even though they're selling less, they're still making money. Izzy and Steven would make zero difference in a stadium setting, and they're already gouging fans for tickets to smaller shows (like Hollywood). If they wanted to generate some hype, they could release an album and announce an amphitheatre/arena tour (maybe a co-headline tour) with lower ticket prices. Better venues and better value is a good way to get more people in the seats at full price. And finally... do people actually think Richard, Dizzy and Melissa would leave if Izzy and Steven came back? They'd probably even keep Frank in the band, because Steven's not gonna be able to play 3 hours a night for a full tour and it doesn't seem like Axl wants to cut the show length in half. It would be ridiculous no matter what way they did it.
  21. It's kinda sad that there's people here still clinging to the hope of an AFD reunion. It's not happening, move on. The reunion happened exactly as Axl said it would back in 2011.

  23. He played his first solo show in 4 years last night, and debuted a few Pike songs. He sounds great.
  24. Heard the new single on the radio today. Angry is good, but Sweet Sounds Of Heaven is really great.
  25. I'm calling it now - the only thing they'll release next year will be another rehashed Greatest Hits set (maybe they'll call it a 'Best Of' this time) including the 4 NITL singles, and maybe Estranged, Brownstone and/or Coma (maybe the one from Live Era).
