  1. Yes, the orchestral part is probably mixed somewhere in the background for 4~ minutes, we agree on that. I've never heard the 7" Nov Rain and can't say what the quality is like, and different versions were pressed at different speeds. Apparently the more recent HS single with 2 live tracks (the Nightrain release) did have sound issues though and it was only 6.5 minutes of music. I really doubt The General is some 9 minute epic, and I doubt it has any parts of SOG, but we'll find out soon enough.
  2. How was it clearly specifically made to be a concert intro? Seems a lot more likely that it was a stem that they used as an intro, rather than something made to be an intro. We've heard a solid couple minutes of The General even though the quality is garbage, and the song isn't going to be that long considering it's on a 7" record. It's not impossible that TG/SOG were combined at some point, but it's very unlikely.
  3. 2011-12 when the MSL lists/emails thing happened, but most people didn't pay much attention to it. It was in the CD2 tracklist email
  4. Don't be ridiculous. Of course songs can change from section to section, but the 'intro' part we've heard is over 4 minutes long and it doesn't fit anywhere in SOG. The vocals and guitar melodies we've heard sound nothing alike. Maybe SOG was abandoned, we have no idea, but it's far more likely that they're different songs rather than SOG being so heavily restructured into The General. I don't think parts of The General are anywhere in the Village leaks, but I'd say there's a better chance it originated as Billionare than SOG. (It's not Billionare either, though.)
  5. The orchestral intro doesn't fit into SOG and from what we've heard the song structures, melodies and vocals are different. I have no idea why it's so hard for some people to grasp that The General isn't something that's already leaked.
  6. SOG had completed lyrics, and none of the vocals that can be heard in the cell phone clip sound anything like SOG. They're 2 different songs.
  7. This place is so predictable sometimes. We're less than a week from hearing it, someone comes on and says they heard it 'from a friend', gives no details, and some of you still fall for it.
  8. Like when Bestbuy initially listed the 3 covers for CD and called SOD 'Stardust' and Scraped 'Lies They Tell'? Maybe... I'd say it's more likely that the GNR site has an error than the credits database, though. I agree the back of the 7" will probably have specific artwork for The General though.
  9. Haven't you heard? Record stores already have tons of copies and they came with a 56-page legal letter warning against leaks. And it will still be clips of evader's version. A year from now, we'll still see people posting evader's version thinking it's the nuGNR demo.
  10. No, I hope he's never involved with GNR. Not that there will be a full GNR album to produce, anyway. No doubt he's a hit-maker, but I've never heard an album he's done and thought it was great. I like the new Stones album but the production is just ok.
  11. Sucks for the Europeans who are getting their records delayed, but the US site now says it's shipping October 26. So some people might actually get it (and rip it) on the 27th.
  12. Mac Saturn announced their debut album comes out in January, I'm looking forward to it. They just released this single: I saw them open for Dirty Honey last year and they were good. They're opening for The Struts next month too, should be an awesome show.
  13. Really looking forward to the Struts album. The acoustic version of the title track that they released months ago was great, and the studio version is great too. Can't wait to see them live in about a month
  14. I kind of agree... Sweet Sounds Of Heaven is the standout track and Tell Me Straight is one of the best. I also really liked Dreamy Skies. I've never been a big fan of Watt's production and this isn't much different, but it's a solid album. I've listened to it twice and I'll listen a few more times over the weekend.
  15. Yea that's one of my favourite concert posters, great design. Island Blue in Victoria.
  16. Yea the demo does sound messy, but with a proper mix/master it could sound fantastic. I like that there's a lot going on though, the released version is almost too simple. Instrumentally, the demo is one of my favourite CD era tracks.
  17. What did you think of the sound? I thought AIC sounded good but the mix for GNR was a bit inconsistent. Overall it was better than the 2017 show though.
  18. Duff with AIC Perhaps Hard Skool Bad Obsession Pretty Tied Up Wichita Lineman
  19. Overall, it was a fun show. I haven't watched videos from every show but it seemed like Axl had kind of an off night even by current standards? Abruptly switching to the deep voice on some songs, skipping the middle scream on LALD, stuff like that. He sounded good on the more natural songs though, Don't Cry was really nice, and I was glad to finally hear Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession, DOTF, etc. Absurd was the best of the NITL singles, Axl and Slash both sounded good on it. Perhaps was definitely weaker than previous shows but I'm glad I got to hear it. And Axl didn't fuck up the timing on Hardschool, it was actually a (relatively) good performance of that song IMO. It was nice to meet @Amir at the show I'm going to sleep now but I've got videos uploading to youtube, including AIC playing Rooster with Duff.
