  1. If they wanted to make more money, they'd put it on fucking youtube, itunes, etc. Only releasing it on vinyl is a great way to make sure that most people who hear it, haven't paid for it
  2. Axl apparently was quoting some of Rogan's comedy bits when they met, they'd probably talk about comedy and movies for a while. Would love to hear Axl explain more about Rhiad, too.
  3. Hope so. Had a ticket to see them in 2020 but of course it was cancelled.
  4. Being the b-side doesn't mean anything as far as quality. Rocket Queen was the b-side for Patience, Whole Lotta Rosie from the Marquee was the b-side for WTTJ, Civil War the b-side for YCBM, etc... those are all great tracks, but not the most radio friendly. Prostitute and TWAT are the best songs on CD and they weren't radio friendly either.
  5. I don't think Axl would sound good on it nowadays... Black Leather and Raw Power (as a duet with Duff) would be awesome though.
  6. This might've been true in 2016. I love Steven's drumming but it seems like he's been wildly inconsistent over the last couple years. Sometimes he sounds great, and sometimes he's slow and makes really sloppy mistakes. Izzy hasn't performed in what, 10 years? Can't really say much about him but I did think he was good when I saw him at the last 2012 residency shows. I get that people want 'closure' but I don't think an AFD5 tour could be anything other than underwhelming.
  7. The biggest giveaway is the scream IMO. Starts at 2:27 in Eye On You and 2:46 in Hard Skool. Obviously it's got tons of effects on it, but I think it's the same. Comparison: https://voca.ro/1oxlgvFPrlV9
  8. "Odds are against him, I'll tell you that."
  9. Wasn't it was taken off more recent setlists? I think there's actually a decent chance they don't play it live... from what we know, it's got lots of high raspy vocals. Axl would probably have to sing it similarly to the bridge part of Better, which was disastrous before the song was finally dropped. If they released The General on its own, they'd be expected to play it live. But if it's a B-side that's released shortly after the tour ends, they'll still be able to release a good song (that hopefully matches the quality of TWAT, Prostitute, etc.) but Axl won't have to shred his voice trying to scream through it every night... I hope I get to hear the song in Vancouver but I won't be surprised if they don't play it.
  10. If they did a one-off farewell show, it could be huge. Like GNR's version of Celebration Day. But for a few more years of stadium/arena tours, the lineup doesn't really matter aside from Axl and Slash.
  11. No, and I'm surprised some people still think an AFD5 tour is some kind of ace up their sleeve. The reunion that the general public cared about was always just Axl and Slash. Bringing back more classic members wouldn't make much of a difference in a stadium setting. It would never, ever recapture what they did 30+ years ago. They wouldn't be doing the legacy justice, it would be their most blatant cash-grab attempt. I would probably actually lose respect for Izzy and Steven if they came back now. And there's a very good chance that Richard, Dizzy and Melissa would remain in the band anyway.
  12. The guy who did the Paris litho also did the Boston litho... Paris is one of the best but Boston is awful.
  13. I'm not a fan of the Luiz Berger lithos at all. Is it just me, or have most of the NA lithos so far this year been really ugly?
  14. I think it was Josh Freese who mentioned (a couple years ago) that Axl and Billy Howerdel would spend lots of time messing around in the pro tools room, Billy would play something then Axl would do rough vocals over the ideas. That's exactly what Nothing sounds like - a very rough sketch of a song idea. Kind of interesting to hear once, but I haven't listened to it since probably 2019.
  15. Well, like you said they've had film crews before and it didn't amount to a release. Maybe they'll release a 'selects' during next years downtime? Maybe they're filming sound checks and backstage footage so they have instagram fluff to post over the next year or two... when did Slash imply they won't tour again for a while? I don't think that photo shoot was related to a live release - it would make way more sense to use a photo of them all taking a bow at the end of the show.
  16. Maybe, but wouldn't it make more sense to use some of the thousands of live pictures they've already got for a live album? I have no idea who the photographer is in that pic though. They had the tour program in 2016/17 with lots of pics, and I think a photo book around 2017 (can't remember if it was a Nightrain thing or a VIP ticket thing). I guess they could be doing another one of those and wanted an official band pic? Still seems like an odd thing for this band to do though, if it's related to a live release.
  17. I'm assuming this is a joke but this band releases such crap that I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that
  18. Did anyone figure out wtf this is? Looks like a photo shoot, but for what? Why would they do a photo shoot for more tour announcements or one-off singles? Could it be... the image that will be on the backside of a CD booklet, or a vinyl sleeve?
  19. Haven't seen anything, but I'm kinda hoping for Ayron Jones, I'd buy tickets pretty quickly if he was announced. He opened the Gorge 2017 show (and was better than Royal Blood), he's friends with Duff, a Seattle artist, his new album is pretty good and he doesn't have any shows on the 14th...
  20. Who says he didn't record vocals after 2006? He was at The Palms in Vegas in early 2007 (plus some other studios I think?) and the lyrics for Shackler's must have been completed sometime after April 2007. I always assumed the vocals for the This I Love remix were from around 2009, since they sound closer to his 2010 voice than his 2006 voice, and that's when they seemed to really be considering releasing a remix album.
