  1. That's because they are. Even in 2008-2010, CD2 probably sounded more or less as bloated and overproduced as the 2008 album. NITL ripping those songs apart and adding their parts, mixing and mastering them poorly (has largely been the case so far), doesn't help them any.
  2. I can't hear it in the 2000 mix, but I've seen posts where people claim to hear it there. If it's there in the 2000 mix, it is certainly lower in the mix. I actually like the 2023 version more than the 2000, with one exception being most of Slash's solo. The last bits, the higher notes, fit the song but I don't think he did as good as Robin's solo. It's nice they kept a few seconds of Robin's solo. Weird they didn't just have Slash replicate that part and do a transition into his own solo. Would have been easier just to keep Robin in, and no one except us would know anyways.
  3. I agree. I'm sure Axl works on recording new vocals, and overdubs, backing vocals, touch ups, etc. when he's laying down vocals in the studio. From the Village leaks, we know Axl later recorded vocals for Shackler's, Sorry, Better, and Scraped (which we didn't get any instrumental for then) and that suggests he has probably recorded vocals for additional songs, and we know that to be true with Monsters and The General. I'm certain there are others. As for how many, no one knows for sure but I would bet he has 6-12 additional songs with vocals that were not on the 2008 album or the NITL singles.
  4. Tommy Stinson said Axl recorded vocals every year he was in the band. Tommy was in Guns from 1998 to 2014.
  5. Oh yes, any band with Tommy, Axl, and Bucket would get my attention and money, unless they keep Frank on drums! Just kidding, I'd still see them with Frank.
  6. 1999 should have been Oh My God, 2008 should have been Better, and 2019 should have been Hardschool (2000)
  7. I've been listening to my Japanese Perhaps CD in my vehicle. It gets awfully boring fast, more so than the previous single because they at least had two live songs with the two singles. It would have been better with Monsters, but Monsters is actually a good song, so maybe they want to feature it as a lead single for a future release with Atlas or something.
  8. I don't think we got definitive proof of that, outside of Melissa's website saying Brain played on it. If it was Brain, they heavily processed the drums and sucked all the life out of them.
  9. There's a photo of the band from around 2009 with Brain in there. Maybe it was 2008. I don't think that particular tour happened though. this was before the Asian shows, when they were planning on having two drummers.
  10. I suppose, but isn't Frank more or less a touring member? He was on some of CD, and possibly Hard Skool? Brain still hangs out with the band too, so you never know. Melissa could probably have him bang out a song or two.
  11. 2012 - Detroit 2011 - Chicago 2021 - Detroit 2016 - Detroit The best show I have ever seen was 2016 Axl/DC in The Palace of Auburn Hills.
  12. Shoot, I hadn't thought about the drums. So if they actually write and record new material, it will probably have Frank on drums. Could they call in Brain?
  13. Yeah, it's certainly an interesting thought. I believe the last time the band had any creative output of new material was the Bucket/Robin era. We have yet to be shown that not to be the case.
  14. If NITL actually writes and records new material, the Bucket and/or Finck argument wouldn't be valid, because those members were not involved in those songs. It's only a valid point for a CD-era re-worked tune, of course.
  15. I remember when Bumblefoot was playing that song, it was more than just an instrumental, it had some vocal melodies. This was before it was recorded and released. I wish GN'R recorded it, the raw version Bumble played was pretty good. I wasn't too fond of the final product, but I bet if Axl was on it and wrote most of the lyrics, it would be a pretty good Guns song for CD3 or whatever.
  16. The dripfed process is near agonizing. I suppose it could be worse. The closest thing we had to the 2008 album was the 2019 leaks. I wonder how many, if any of these singles will even end up on an album or some sort of bastardized complication. Almost all of the songs are not mixed in a fashion that are suitable for an album, at least not together without being remixed and remastered. It's a damn shame we never got CD2. I hope, by some act of God or a fan crazier/more connected than me, we get it all leaked as it was in 2010 or whatever. I think that would be closure for a lot of people. The 2004-2014 CD2, remix album, and re-recorded AFD. That's what we need.
  17. I understand and can appreciate some vocal distortion, when used appropriately. (Like in Perhaps, on one line, which is also present in the 2000 mix) but for The General, it makes the lyrics in places unintelligible. I only understand most of the song now, despite no official lyrics being published, based on unofficial lyrics and discussions here on what Ax is singing. Makes production on 1999 Oh My God seem good. I wonder how much better the 2010 (or whatever) mixes were of these songs were from a production standpoint. I would imagine better based on the 2008 album vs reheated leftovers of NITL.
  18. I wonder if this video will get a Blu-ray release. Just kidding! Don't want to give them any ideas.
  19. No, it seems a majority of us dislike the video, including me.
  20. Yes but I think it was better as Soul Monster with Buckethead.
