  1. Could it be a nod to Black Frog? I think someone else mentioned that shortly after the leak.
  2. I could see it going either way. Of course, I'm hoping for an official release. I believe even Fernando knows they could have a digital only, or better yet, a fancy Chinese Democracy flash drive full of the CD-era stuff (sort of like what they did with the AFD anniversary release) and sell it for a few hundred dollars on the Guns site exclusively and make bank. It would be even cooler if they made it a multi-CD set with the alt artwork, some reading material, photos, etc. That deluxe box would be great. I'd buy three! One for me to open and play with, one to keep sealed, and the other for my dad. The above fantasy probably wouldn't occur until after the squeezing out as many CD leftovers with NITL shitting over them is over. So probably not before 2028 anyway since that's the 20th anniversary. It would also provide an opportunity to release some of the CD bonus and remix material.
  3. I could see them being released as bonus content or as part of some CD anniversary release. We got a few seconds of Robin on Perhaps, and I can hear a little Bucket on Absurd as well. Not sure on Hard Skool. If Guns actually drops a full record, it wouldn't surprise me if a song or two is left alone from that era. Casuals wouldn't know. Imagine if they released an EP with NITL Perhaps, Absurd, Hard Skool, and The General along with 2008 Better, This I Love, The Blues and TWAT. Aside from the better production of the 2008 songs, no casual is going to know who played on that.
  4. Predicting the future are we? At least Scraped can be understood lyrically upon the first listen. It's crisp, and produced well IMO. Maybe just needs the bass turned up like the rest of the 2008 album, but aside from that, great production. The General sounds like an unmixed mess.
  5. I hope they do a lyric video for The General and Monsters so I know what Axl is singing more than 75% of the time.
  6. I wonder how many more songs they recorded over. We know at least one (Monsters), and most of us assume Atlas as well. There's probably at least 6 songs total, including Hard Stool, Absurd, Perhaps and The General. I bet they did at least 2 others as well. (Oh My God, Berlin/Oklahoma, Zodiac, Seven, etc.) If we are lucky, NITL won't touch some of these songs and we will get to hear them with Buckethead and/or Robin Finck.
  7. I'm not even sure if I would expect any of these officially released half-baked Chinese leftovers to make it onto the next album. I could see stuff not officially released being paired up with actual new material, but who knows. I doubt they are going to scrap what they haven't touched up with NITL. Stuff like Zodiac 13, Quick Song, Atlas, etc. though decades old, is too good to leave unreleased forever.
  8. We are only a few new songs away from having a near complete CD2. Probably 6-10 left 😊
  9. I do remember a lot of casual and even hardcore AC/DC fans not being too fond initially, but Axl did it, he more than pulled it off, he fucking killed it. I saw him with Guns in 2016 and AC/DC, and he sounded decent with Guns, but with AC/DC, it was like 2006 Axl.
  10. We are due for another few years or so. And when we get more leaks, I hope it's stuff with Buckethead and/or Robin, unlike last time. But, I'll take anything! I'd pay good money for an official Axl/DC Blu-ray of any or mixed 2016 performances. The footage has to exist.
  11. I'd love to hear a studio mix of Silkworms with vocals from the performances in the early '00s. I would imagine they were recorded, unless Axl was referring to the chorus of only the live performances. This version, with Buvkethead on lead, would probably be the best version of the song, especially if they dropped that long intro in that mix as well, which they probably did as it sounds like Bucket's killswitch. So, a 2003-2005 mix, give or take a year or so.
  12. Wonderfully diverse cities ruled by the two parties aside, the gun violence isn't so bad (practically non-existent) in nice rural areas, where gun ownership is high. But in cities, yes, you hear shootings all the time, hence why I don't go there. It's a people problem, probably lack of father figures for a certain demographic, which is more than supported by official stats, like it or not. They do help a lot of people every year, especially the police who have to deal with most of it. I live in an area where it's unlikely I'll need one for defense. I'm more of a collector anyways of weapons of war, every one I acquire is one less in the streets. Doing God's work. He more or less is an example of why we have an electoral college, based on his Jimmy Kimmel interview where he basically admitted to voting based on how his area swings.
  13. I should get my Japanese CD singles soon. One to open, and the other, hmm I really don't need it in my car since I can burn the 4 "new" songs on a disc for myself. I think I'll give it to my dad for his upcoming birthday later this month. Wish it had Monsters on it! Would make the CD 33% cooler lol.
  14. Sounds like a good time! Thanks for sharing the music with them. Wish I had more friends like that.
  15. I can’t help it, I’d buy any media this band releases if it has new stuff on it. My guess is Atlas and Monsters are next.
  16. They couldn’t even be bothered to include two live NITL tracks this time. Would have been nicer having a few more songs on the CD.
  17. Possibly, but it could also be their Hair Of The Dog or Sympathy For The Devil
  18. Ah yes, he seems to look more white than black, that's for sure. I worked with a woman who was half white and black, and she too looked mostly white. Amazing how genetics work.
  19. Yeah, it's lower on my list too as far as what I'd like to hear that has yet to be released/leaked.
  20. I'd love it if we get pro shots of either (or both) eventually. Or better yet, a studio version recorded around that time. For all we know, Axl has recordings of all sorts of covers. Light My Fire is the only one I'm certain exists in studio form.
  21. It is possible, but at first glance, I think most folks would agree Frank looks bi-racial. I live near a city with a large black population, and most who are not bi-racial are significantly darker than Frank. But genetics are complex, of course so there are exceptions to everything.
  22. Melissa and I are the same age! I'm not in a band though. I thought Frank was biracial. (Partially Cuban?) He certainly doesn't look fully black.
  23. I wish it did. I have to believe the mixing and mastering would have been far better than the NITL CD leftover re-worked trickles. Plus getting 12-16 songs at a time would have been very thirst quenching vs 1 song a year torture average with NITL or less.
