The second half of HW is average at best (except Spit Out the Bone), but the highs of that album are way better than 72 imo. I don’t hate 72, it’s just kinda whatever for me

It’s a very consistently mediocre album. Nothing good and nothing bad. Still, I give them kudos for putting something “fine” out at this stage in their career I prefer Death Magnetic and Hardwired, myself

Great ride

Man, that song sounds just as basic as the demo. I liked Perhaps a lot but through the lens of, “It’s just an unfinished demo”. Hopefully Slash’s recorded solo is better than the sound check and elevates it. Idk The Village vocal tracks all sound unfinished- writing wise. Even Hard Skool could have used another vocal part Really makes me wonder if there was a true “CD2” or if they are just doctoring these up a bit because of the leaks. Very interesting Anyways, we are beggers so that means we can’t be choosers. I’ll gladly take what we get. Bring on Perhaps and The General

I can see why casuals don’t dig his voice. It isn’t what it used to be. He’s 60 and singing very demanding music. 2016 was an (awesome) Indian summer. I’m glad he seems to have found some more use of his lower register and that he can still nail some screams and higher parts. We’re all used to his current voice so we can tell when he tries more. Works for me

I really dug the clips I looked up.He looks good and is putting in effort, new deep cuts in the set (some for the first time in decades), and new songs on the horizon. Good stuff. Excited to see them in August

A live engineer would still have a lot of knowledge about studio production. This looks like a recording studio. I could be wrong, of course, but I read it as they’re listening to studio mixes ahead of Glastonbury. Maybe for a release around then. I doubt they were actually recording; seems they just wanted to listen to the songs on a proper system ahead of putting them out

I’ll be thrilled with Perhaps and The General but, man… if we ever got some completed instrumentals like Soul Monster, Zodiac, Quicksong, Tonto, Oklahoma, etc, that’d be awesome too. I’d prefer those to Atlas. There was a phenomenal GNR album on the Village sessions, it just wasn’t finished. Could have been the heaviest since AfD

A listening session like this would be for studio songs. Must be getting close to Perhaps and The General. Great to see Slash there with Axl, hopefully he likes the songs

Holy shit

Chinese is a great “guitar album”. It’s just different than classic GNR. It’s more about the parts and leads than being riff driven (aside from the title track)
