  1. Now I can see why Axl likes him. They have a common past.

In my experience child abuse is nothing to laugh about. It is the most fucked up feeling that someone you depend on for protection and guidance turns you into a punching bag, physically and verbally. You just feel like shit, I admire

Ashba how well he turned out.

Nice Words Dude. DJ sounds like a lovely guy, those that despise the man are just plain stupid pricks...

  2. People should appreciate that Axl is commenting on this after the fact as well, just like he made a public statement before hand.

He stands by his decision on both accounts, and makes no excuses for it and doesn't try to hide from the decision he made, and if anything, he has gone above and beyond

in informing the fans about his thoughts on the matter, so overall I think Axl handled this situation very well.

    rock3

    Well said Dude !

  3. Outside of the USA, NOBODY gives a shit about the Rock n' roll hall of fame. Just saying. They're about to tour in Europe, they won't sell less tickets because Axl didn't come. The same goes for South America and Asia.

This is the most sane comment of the past week. No-one in Australia knows about the RRHOF, and therefore couldn't give a Rat's arse about Axl's decision. If he tours Australia then his fans will flock to see him play - ge's loved Down Under. !

The fact that the HOF was charging inductees thousands of dollars for tickets just proves it is an exploitive business entity - NOT a legitimate industry authority with the right to hand out awards !

Peace, and long live G'n'R. :)

  4. It'd be about time, we've all heard the tales about the trilogy. There's too much potential in the guys, pisses me off that absolutely horrific 'bands' release albums consistently yet Axl is complacent when he has the ability to put together some damn good stuff and really stamp down a new era with Guns.

Well said. It woud be a massive shame if no more new music ever came out of Axl. The music-art landscape is so much richer for his talents, but alas so relatively devoid of

it. God I hope he releases one more album one day :)

  5. "I don't really give a [expletive]. . . . If they all want to go play a song and get their award, I would have no problem with it. Do I think I'm part of that? Hell no! It's all about the original band, and that's fine. It's all about 'Appetite,' really."

    -Tommy Stinson

Cool quote - the current lineup seem to be very comfortable about it all, and supportive of the original gang. In a perfect world it would be fantastic to have original GnR perform with current GnR there cheering them on...

Now we can put that garbage to rest.

^ Woops, fucked up the quote - Anyway, its not a perfect world so I guess we'll have to wait and see...

  6. System of a Down would be cool. Serj already talked about how he loves Gn'R.

    System or Rage.

Would've been good, but i guess it depends on bands schedules etc...

Nothing wrong with Green Day - big well known successful band. Problem is no-one has ever sounded like GnR , or even come close to how good this AFD line-up were. So its hard to find any band "good enough" to induct them.

I'd be happy to hear Green Day cover some songs on the night. You all take this way to seriously - it will come and go quickly and everyone will move on!

  7. I'm thinking, fortus is really receptive with e-mails and fan questions, so i thought we could ask him if he wants to answer some questions, and then select some of the better questions and send to him ...

Not a bad idea - obviously in-depth GnR questions are gonna be too hard for him to answer. Good luck!

  8. Interested to know if you all reckon the chance of them coming back to Australia in 2012 is almost a certainty?

I cant see it happening to be honest. Its a long way to come here and they've allready been touring for a long time. It would probably have to include Japan & NZ to make it worthwhile. Also, I'm wondering if the Aussie dollar being strong is a deterrent? Anyway, we can all dream. :)

  9. IMO playing together as the old group would do more harm than good at this point, I fucking hate to say that but it is reality. I love the new band as well so for me I am torn. Playing one song would open the floodgates so to speak about getting back together, it would never end.

This. Axl is really screwed either way. Playing together would ignite the Reunion fire. Can't you all be happy if they all just show up, get along and enjoy the simple moment of this cool achievement? I certainly would love that.

Think about it people - if Axl is there, if Slash is there - they shake hands and talk to each other - and that's it! I'd be stoked if that was all that happens.

  10. Buckethead is a fantastic player and writer but he just doesn't fit in term of the visibility factor ...

Dumb to say, i know but it`s the truth ! When Guns finally returned in 2001 / 2002 everybody was like : What the fuck is that ? A circus ? A goth guy ( Robin ) and a freak with a mask ( Bucket ) ?!?!?!?!

    No Offense here !! :)

This incarnation of Guns iy my favourite

Ron is such a good guitarist and he fits really well.

    Only my opinion.

I totally agree with you dude. All the boys fit really well. Their individualism and sound gels perfectly !

  11. There's an entire post related to this where this has been addressed as well. They were finalizing someone to induct them last we all know, and it has to be someone who was inspired by GN'R.

    Oops! Sorry.

I guess i found it weird when i received the email in my inbox today from RRHOF and GnR was missing from the announcement.

Someone inspired by GnR huh - im sure there's a few out there who would fall into that category :)

  12. dizzy has multiple writing credits on an album that sold millions of copies and is being inducted into the hall of fame. i'd love to know the accomplishments of those who criticize his.

Exactly. I'd love to have half his talent and achievements.

  13. Well I personally hate Dizzy and think he is the luckiest man alive to be where he is. But, I'm all for the people who can go grilling him with questions. Let's get every drop of info. we can. haha

why would you personally hate the man ??? did he bang your mum or something ?

I've only met him once but he seemed like a very nice person.

I also think he has made a great contribution to GnR's sound over the years...

Everyone's nice when a fan comes up to meet them. Come on man...really?

I think he's made zero contribution to GNR's sound over the years. And I dislike him because of the way he's talked about the former members of the band in the various interviews he's done.

Well the way I read it was that Dizzy had personally done something to you - Hence the " I personally hate Dizzy".

All the Former AFD/Illusions-era members have said bad things about each other, it is what it is. None of them are perfect - they're just humans.

But your'e entitled to your opinion I guess.
