  1. My main criterium would be that it has to sound good. So what would I include? Instrumentals only.
  2. How about Albert? On a more serious note I like a few of his singles and he's definitely a good guitar player, but I never liked his stuff enough to go for a deepdive in his discography.
  3. I think England generally dislikes American "Football" for being neither rugby nor football.
  4. Come to think of it, the WNBA specifically would be a great fit too. Women can't dunk. Axl can't sing. It'll be one big party of people trying to do stuff they suck at.
  5. Events like the superbowl would be an amazing fit for GnR. They mostly care about name value and not quality. So that's definitely right up gnr's alley.
  6. Ringo and his son on drums. Sting on bass, Daltrey on Harmonica and 55 guitarists. Sounds well-balanced, doesn't it? In the alley behind the studio, crying that nobody will let him in.
  7. https://www.billboard.com/music/rock/mark-knopfler-guitarists-going-home-charity-single-bruce-springsteen-slash-townshend-1235602787/ "Including Slash, Springsteen, Brian May, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Clapton, Joan Jett, Sheryl Crow, Joan Armatrading, Journey’s Jonathan Cain, Tom Morello, Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, former Squeeze member Paul Carrack, Keith Urban, Steve Cropper, Steve Vai, Vince Gill, Sam Fender, Sonny Landreth, Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor, the Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Albert Lee, Rush’s Alex Lifeson, Steve Lukather, Dave Mason, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, Orianthi, Susan Tedeschi and Dereck Trucks and many more." "Most of the artists on the song play guitar, except for Starr and son Zack Starkey, who play drums and Sting, who plays bass, while Who singer Roger Daltrey plays harmonica. “Local Hero” is due out on March 15." That's one huge fucking list of names, but how the hell do you put them all on one song! It's going to be an extended version, but still!
  8. They don't have to stop or anything, but to me they're completely meaningless. They have been for a long time.
  9. You're not wrong, but still Anthony's voice is what belongs with the Chili's. Just like John's guitar really. It might sound bad, but every guitarist in the Chili Peppers is just a placeholder for when John kicks his demons out and comes back. That said I saw Josh on stage with Pearl Jam in 2022 and he was stellar. His Purple Rain (where he was on lead vocals) was insane. And while we're talking about reunions and the Chili's, let's not forget their original reunion with John from 1998. Which was absolutely stellar and delivered Californication, By The Way and Stadium Arcadium.
  10. Yesterday I saw the slightly psychadelic bluesrock trio DeWolff, but with an XL band giving them a huge full rock n soul sound. Awesome show! I urge people to check these guys out. Start with Live & Outta Sight 3, Love Death & In Between or one of the other Live & Outta Sight albums.
  11. I saw AiC open for GnR in July 2006. I think that was still their first tour with William DuVall. It was a really interesting gig. Like they were still trying to find their footing. I did really like seeing them and they sounded good, but it definitely felt like they were still trying to find the right groove and working to reconnect with their audience. But in the end I agree - it was good. As good as it could've gone without Layne.
  12. Another good reunion, was the original 2007/2008 RATM reunion. The first gig was Coachella iirc. I saw them in the summer of '08 at Pinkpop Festival and they absolutely tore the house down. The way they came on, masked and dressed in Guantanamo Bay orange jumpsuits was cool too. They were actually guided to the stage and line up by security people (probably roadies) and then given instruments. The entire thing looked really weird but cool. They were still great, but everything about it also still felt relevant and passionate.
  13. One reunion that needs to be mentioned here, despite that most people won't know them, is the 2019 Heideroosjes reunion. Heideroosjes are a Dutch punk band that began in 1989 and never had a single lineup change. They made 11 studio albums, a number of live cd's and dvd's, toured the world and always fought for every crowd no matter how big or small. In 2011 they announced that they would end their band. As They released a final album that year, did a farewell tour and after 23 years they played their final concert in Brussels in 2012. It's available on DVD and I recommend it to everyone. In 2019 they reunited to celebrate 30 years of Heideroosjes. One show became 2, 2 became 5, then there was a festival tour and some more farewell shows in december. I attended the first show of their reunion tour as well as the final one. And it was amazing. Marco (the singer) his voice barely held up, they were visably exhausted at the end of the show, but in true Heideroosjes fashion they fought for their band and their audience like no others. There were jokes about their age, their fans' age, seeing how the kids in the pit from back in the day now all had to find a babysitter and what not. It was a great mix of selfawareness, humor, joy and most of all playing an awesome show. The final show of that tour was objectively better, but that first one.... man that was special! They said they wouldn't quit again, but instead go into hibernation. This resulted in a new single in december of 2020 about the pandemic, followed by a really good album in 2021 and a tour in 2022. They're touring again this year and I'm probably going to see them on that too. I love this band and everything about this reunion felt like a happy relief.
  14. This, so much. It was more than any Floyd fan dared to wish or hope for. But it happened. It was surreal. It only lasted for a very short time. But it was amazing. I'm really glad this happened.
  15. Update on my 2024 list: 2024-02-03 - DeWolff @ EM2, Groningen 2024-03-10 - K3 @ Martiniplaza, Groningen 2024-04-19 - Kid Kapichi @ Melkweg, Amsterdam 2024-05-22 - The Black Crowes @ AFAS Live, Amsterdam 2024-06-19 - Green Day, The Hives, The Interrupters @ Gelredome, Arnhem 2023-06-23 - Steel Panther @ Oosterpoort, Groningen 2024-06-27 - Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band @ Goffertpark, Nijmegen 2024-08-31 - The Teskey Brothers @ Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam 2024-11-11 - Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit @ Ooterpoort, Groningen If the Stones or Mdou Moctar are coming near, I'm definitely seeing those too. The same goes for Billy Joel, Chris Stapleton and Tommy Stinson, but those are all extremely unlikely.

That was Liam, yeah. And I can totally see why as well. They don't have the melodic strength of Oasis or anything, but the attitude is definitely very similar. The singles for the new album sound great so far too! Let's Get To Work and Tamagotchi are great songs. I've read it will be along the same lines as Here's What You Could Have Won.
  17. I've never really dived into his stuff, but I'm listening to Southeastern now and what an absolute fucking monster of an album. He's performing in my home city in November, definitely going to try and get tickets.
  18. I'm not sure if it's country. But should I go see Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit?
  19. How was Slash even able to play that song without having a backdrop movie made for it?!! You can't just rehearse something and then play it! That's ABSURD! You need to at least have a backdrop video made. So again - HOW did he do this? I'm asking for a monkey-loving friend.
  20. Just scored Black Crowes tickets for Amsterdam.
  21. “Get ready for something F’n special.. 1.24.24” Oh boy! I bet it's a new album! #excited
