  1. I read it somewhere and I can't for the life of me remember where Sorry, I know that's pretty useless.
  2. Is there a 2024 version of this yet? So far I'm already enjoying the Circle Session EP by the Teskey Brothers And still looking forward to: Kid Kapichi - There Goes The Neighbourhood (2024-03-15) Black Crowes - Happiness Bastards (2024-03-15) Alestorm - Voyage Of The Dead Marauder EP (2024-03-22) Other than that I've heard rumblings of a new RHCP album and maybe even more Stones stuff. I'd love both.
  3. The only difference between Axl and Beta and a married couple, is that a married couple stopped having sex years ago.
  4. Kind of surprised! I consider Driving Me Too Hard and Tell Me Straight among the weaker songs on the album (by which I don't mean that they're weak at all, I still really like them), but it surprises me that a lot of people point out Live By The Sword as a weaker song. That one really grew on me a lot and by now it's one of the most likely songs I put on for a short car ride. This goes for me as well. This album flows magnificently. And where Voodoo Lounge and Bridges tend to feel long as albums (a common problem with 90's albums imo, as a lot of artists felt they should utilize the new playtime CD's brought), Hackney doesn't suffer from this at all. It's compact and never gets tedious. When I heard the Stones have a lot more tracks recorded for this, I'm really happy that they dared to make choices, instead of putting as much on there as possible. A ton of artists forget that when making an album. Also this. The Stones playing the blues is my ultimate kryptonite. I was ridiculously happy with Blue And Lonesome as an album. I rate it lower as this because it's a cover album. But the Stones playing blues gives me so much joy. I'll never get bored of it. And doing it to end an album of this caliber was a great move.

    Kid Kapichi

Yeah, I also bought tickets to see them in Amsterdam in April.
  6. Oh shit! Now they also announced Madness for my home city. Very tempted to go see them as well!
  7. I think that's mostly because that's exactly what they're doing.

    Kid Kapichi

Lately I'm playing these guys on repeat. A lot. Not sure how, but I came accross one of their songs and it hit hard. They're very English and do an awesome mix of punk, hiphop, some metal and electronic influences too, Any fans around? Anybody who's seen them live? A few examples of what these guys do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HC4KE339i0
  9. Just added tickets for Kid Kapichi in April.
  10. Since this is a UK thread, anybody know Kid Kapichi? Are they big there? Are they worth seeing live? Do the shows attract Oasis level cunts?
  11. Dude! Don't doxx @janrichmond! WTF!
  12. If I remember correctly he said he's trying to get the rights to Going Down and the other obvious Tommy song (I can't remember the name) back. I haven't heard anything about that he actually succeeded. I hope he will though. It's a typical Tommy song and it would be great on one of his solo albums. Maybe even featuring Axl, idk. But it's stylistically a Tommy song in every way. Great song!

    RATM are back

I hope they don't do that. RATM has always been these 4 guys ever since they began in the early 90's. Replacing someone now would just be lame imo.
  14. It's a think that really bothers me about the dripfeed of songs. I like having a larger body of work (an album) to play for a while rather than stuff I need to put on playlists. Currently that's ABSURD / Hardschool (or Hard Skool, if you're retarded) / Perhaps / The General. And we might as well add Monsters. Putting the rest into that doesn't make sense since they're done by an entirely different band. I don't tend to mix CD-era with reunion-era. As for what's next... Well Monsters isn't actually out yet and Atlas is pretty much something you'd expect since it's been finished 10 times over. But honestly other than that we just don't know what's there. It might be State Of Grace, but it might also be something unheard entirely like Seven. Or something we've never even heard of. Either way, at this pace of releasing things it'll just be frustrating all over again. We'll see what happens.
  15. My Christmas tree was blocking my record player for a while. But now it's gone and Hackey Diamonds is back on the turntable. Still really loving this album, a lot!
  16. *to a select group of hardcore GnR fans and noone else. I mean, let's be honest here. AC/DC fans preferred Brian by default because he'd been the singer of AC/DC for 35 years at that point. Axl was a passable alternative for them. And other than that it's only hardcore GnR fans jizing in their panties over this. I don't mean to say it wasn't good. It was. But I think it's still mostly GnR fans being really excited and it was a passable alternative for everybody else.
  17. Oh damn! Yeah I'd love to see him again as well! That would be awesome. Any clue in when it might be out yet? Tbh I'm not a big fan of his solo work. On An Island was okay. Thankfully I saw him on that tour while Rick Wright was still in his touring band. But then Rattle That Lock didn't really do it for me at all. But seeing him play Pink Floyd stuff for an hour is well worth the other hour of passable solo material.

Darn.

    RATM are back

That's even worse. Now that you mention it I do remember hearing about this, but I'd completely forgotten about it. I suppose it could even be that they're still good but that Tim's situation has become too bad to deal with on tour. But yeah, the HoF thing doesn't make sense either. In any case - sad news. Edit: But I don't really know whether Tim is getting treatment and/or how it's going currently.

    RATM are back

Damn! Really sad news! I'm very glad that I got to see them in 2008 and I hoped I'd see them again. But if it's about health reasons (Zach's Achilles) there's not much anybody can do. Health comes first.
  21. It's the average length of most songs, in general. These songs were also around 4 minutes in 1999 when they were written (the Village ones anway, I assume TG/Monsters too) and on that note so are by far most songs on RM 1-4. You're looking into things too much. I knew 2024 would be a boring year GnR wise, but I didn't expect it to set in so soon.
  22. It's Monsters. See, they were on the right track with Perhaps. Yes, there was the jukebox fuckup, but that was minimal. The release was good and the video excellent. But then they fucked up again. The announced vinyl and specifically it being backed with The General was shocking and awesome. But they waited too long with the vinyl. And then the pressing went wrong and got delayed. We can only guess why. But that must've seriously pissed someone off, because while GnR was sort of on the right track, they leaked The General and Monsters. A slap in the face of GnR if you ask me. A well-deserved result of their fucking up again. Not only did we hear The General before it's release (not hearing a gnr song until its release is something that hasn't happened since 2008), it got us the still unreleased Monsters. One of the best CD era tracks we've heard if you ask me. I like how GnR got it shoved in their faces because of their own messups, but I love the song even more.
  23. That is definitely grand, But the version of Sailing acoustic at the surprise nightclub show later that night is even more epic imo.
