  1. Hmmmm. That's difficult. I've seen them in 2009 on the Black Ice tour (still with Malcolm) and again in 2015 on the Rock Or Bust tour (still with Brian, shortly before Axl/DC). They were absolutely amazing both times and I had a really great time. Later on I saw Angus guest on a 2017 GnR show and again he lit an absolute fire under the entire gig. And now I'm just a little bit worried that seeing them again will never be able to live up to those other gigs. So if they tour it'll be a difficult decision for me whether I'd go.
  2. 1. Stop touring, declare Axl legally insane and get full power over everything in the vault 2. Release epic 1998-2004 box set 3. Release much less popular but still interesting 2004-2014 box set 4. Regular archive live releases of all GnR era's, roughly 2 every year
  3. I am curious though - how many Maiden gigs have you seen to date?
  4. In light of recent developments I'd like to once more direct @EvanG's attention towards my avatar.
  5. I am a Stones fanboy, but personal taste aside there's no denying the quantity (and quality, in terms of how it's done) of material they give their fans. From all eras.

  7. The only difference is that the Stones deliver. They released 2 albums and a non-album single in the past decade. 2 more than GnR. And in the mean time there were at least 16 live releases (often audio and video), 6 anniversary box sets and a few movies. Stones fans knew they'd deliver, even despite Charlie's death. GnR rarely ever delivers. Without Irving Azoff they still wouldnt have released CD.
  8. Eh, since everybody is throwing in their two cents I'll add mine. ABSURD was a huge surprise for me. Like it's the ultimate trolljob to release what was probably the most hated and definitely the most devisive song from the entire CD era among fans. That said, this thing abolutely kicked ass. I hated Silkworms for years, but I'd already made a full 180 on the song based on the Village version. Now I have trouble deciding which I like more - Village Silkworms or ABSURD. Is it a ridiculous song? Yes. And I absolutely fucking love it. I was shocked by it. In a good way. Killer riff too. Hard Stool (which I refuse to write with a k) was the exact opposite for me. It was a huge favorite for me from Village, but the final product was a huge letdown. The bass and riff are nice, but the cheesy schoolbell is just stupid and they replaced the absolute whirlwind of an ending with some of Slash's most generic and unmemorable work. The bridge already felt placeholder in the demo, but the released version was just flat out boring and builds to nothing. Complete lackluster song for me, especially given the awesome riptide of a finish it used to have. The stupid spelling in the name change was the final nail in it's coffin. Perhaps. Well hot dawg! Aside from the clusterfuck with the jukebox this proves that GnR is still able to make a half decent video and do a half decent release. Color me surprised! Aside from that, it's not like this thing transcends the demo for me. It's fine. It's nice. But it's not great. Then there's The General and Monster which I both love. I can get picky about the lyrics (mostly of The General) but I don't really want to. Oh, fun fact, GnR hasn't released these yet so they kinda don't count. But the guitar work feels more well done and more integrated into the song rather than pasted on. Particularly in Hardschool but also in Perhaps some parts seem pasted-on. Which, of course, they are. Because after all they're reworking 20 to 25 year old material. But in The General and Monster I didn't get this feeling as much. Either because it was more well done, because for these songs I had no frame of reference based on leaked demos, or both. Then there's some key things that I dislike in everything they've released since the reunion entirely. Most of all production and mixing. Which is just poorly done. No other way to put it. All in all I can't shake the feeling that these Hardschool and Perhaps just aren't as good as the demo's we already had. ABSURD is a different story because it's so wildly different that I can't compare them. At least it's a giant kick in the nuts, in a good way. And for the other two we just don't know and might never know. I really love ABSURD, Monster and The General. Perhaps was good to unobjectionable and Hardschool still makes me sad. But in the end, everything about this post-reunion feels at least somewhat lackluster because nothing has that huge guns blazing throwing everything at you including the kitchen sink comeback songs you'd want them to be. Axl doesn't seem too involved or even bothered at all, Slash his last truly memorable guitar work for me was Anastasia from 2012 (iirc). And in the end Slash and Duff are just adding bits to 25 year old songs to get *something* out and justify more touring. And then there's Team Failure just halfassing everything they do. Aside from maybe the Perhaps video, I liked that. But just think how good this could've been with a little bit more passion and dedication. Releasing 8 of those songs as an EP in 2016/2017 could've been amazing. That would've sent a message.
  9. If that's happening, my money is on Europe around September/October. Which, ironically, will cost me a lot of money if they do.
  10. But we can't know of the clip is legit. The not answering more questions part seems random and therefor suspicious to me. You'd imagine someone having this to be interested to know more about it. And why not share more in the first place? It doesn't make sense imo.
  11. All the Village Sessions discs had specific numbers and dates on them. This does not. I'd think that if someone takes the time to type out these titles, they'd at least bother to copy that info as well. This alone makes me question the legitimacy of this thing.
  12. YAY! Got those too! This time Ticketmaster gave me no shit at all and I only had to wait a minute or so to buy tickets. 2024 now looks like: 2024-02-03 - DeWolff @ EM2, Groningen 2024-03-10 - K3 @ Martiniplaza, Groningen 2024-06-19 - Green Day, The Hives, The Interrupters @ Gelredome, Arnhem 2024-06-27 - Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band @ Goffertpark, Nijmegen 2024-08-31 - The Teskey Brothers @ Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam
  13. My avatar is Fernando photoshopped as a meme clown. Because he actually is a total clown. My signature is, of course, about the ridiculous wait for both the Chinese Democracy album and it's non-existent follow-up. The final line is about my decision to not spend any more money on this cashgrab. It's all pretty self-explanatory really.
  14. And now they announced Green Day. I've never seen them and when they played my home town last year I skipped because I thought meh. Then I heard the whole gig from our attic and really regretted not being there. Now they're playing 2 hours away from me, but I really need to set this right. So I'll probably go into the big Ticketmaster lottery again and try to get tickets for them too.
  15. I thought the red one was the one with the alternate front cover. Now I'm confused. Or was that the green one? I have the see-through purple one myself and I'm absolutely loving it.
  16. And now we, in turn, can laugh at them for screwing up once again. And the universe is back in balance. But joking aside I like how you set the facts straight. There's a ton of bullshit in GnR land and we need more sensible factual information.
  17. Regular, or rockin pneumonia and the boogie woogie flu? Either way, get well soon!
  18. Things went relatively smoothly! My friend had tickets instantly and managed to get 4. I got put tenthousand-something in their stupid digital waiting line but still managed to get through and get the other 3 tickets. So now my 2024 (so far) looks like this: 2024-02-03 - DeWolff @ EM2, Groningen 2024-03-10 - K3 @ Martiniplaza, Groningen 2024-06-27 - Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band @ Goffertpark, Nijmegen 2024-08-31 - The Teskey Brothers @ Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam
  19. I know, I already saw him in May this year in Amsterdam. Its not the unpredictable marathon it was during the 2008-2013 shows I saw, but it's still incredibly good. I also share your deep hatred for the ticketmaster ticket lottery. I have 2 chances - the presale tomorrow at 9 and the general Friday at 10. It's an outdoor venue, so the only options are front section and GA standing. I'm going for the latter as I find 200 euro ridiculous. GA is 120 euto. Wish me luck!
  20. Yay! Teskey Brothers tickets are in! August 31 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Now let's see how the Springsteen presale will go tomorrow.
  21. I thought Mick Mars was barely able to move at this point.
  22. Fuck. They announced presales for Springsteen and the Teskey Brothers this week. There goes my money.....
  23. That's basically the same as a GnR-branded beercoaster. But seriously, are you Susan Holmes?
  24. Let's be real here. The real holy grail was always getting Beta nudes.
