  1. Rhetorical question: Why is Amazon still allowed to sell bootlegs on silver pressed DVD (St Louis, Ritz 88,Chicago etc.) but fans aren’t even allowed to discuss (!) You Tube videos.

And please don’t just blame the management for all this shit. Blame the band/stakeholders. At least Slash and Duff are not family but clients of TB who just offers a service. And in the end clients make decisions, even if recommend by the consultants (TB). But the client decides what to do and what not to do, not the consultant. And please don’t tell me a businessman like Duff isn’t fully aware of everything going on. He is. He absolutely is, let alone Mr. Axl Rose.

It's because no other GNR site is under direct attack by "fan(s)" who claim to be working directly on behalf of the bands management.

So HTGTH, other GNR forums and pretty much every other site on the planet doesn't have to deal with this bullshit. Just us because we're the sole target for this mess, which the bands management has no interest in assisting us with.

Ok, I thought even YT and FB accounts etc were targeted by those „fans“, hence not only this forum.

Anyways, of course I totally understand your zero tolerance policy to avoid any trouble for this forum, let alone any personal trouble.

Just had to remove a link to an unofficial video. Everyone please make sure you're up to speed on this rule that's being forced on us:

    http://www.mygnrforum.com/topic/223008-no-more-links-to-unofficial-or-unlicensed-content/?tab=comments#comment-4753744

We will have to enforce this rule going forward. We know it's bullshit, but we have to do this for obvious reasons.

Out of sheer curiosity I just went over to HTGTH for the first time in at minimum 10 years just to verify if there still is the download section. And guess what, it still looks the same and is still active like in 2008.

How can this be? Is it just because the connection between the guy who cannot be named and GNR?!

    I just do wonder.

Sorry mate. Been patiently waiting for this day since they announced that stupid box. Plus you get a red AFD cassette and a whiskey glass within each bundle. Looks like mine are arriving Monday. The price is actually pretty reasonable.

I’m honestly surprised this wasn’t a Record Store Day exclusive. Although they probably would make more $ selling direct to fan.

By July they will probably start tearing the crosses off of the box and start selling those. That will be the final coffin

I am happy for all you guys who have been patient and made a good deal with the box after the priced dropped or with the current bundles.

I have been such an idiot to invest my hard earned money on the box on day one. Well, shit happens.

You could be mine definitely in 1991

MTV just started in our country, me and my best friend saw it once and were waiting the next day from 8 am to video taped it and than it how the obsession with GnR started :)

it just changed my musical taste instantly and I started digging for rock, heavy metal, punk, gothic, whatever that has guitar, was loud, aggressive and just ready to make some trouble - I was 13 when I saw it so adrenaline and puberty just kicked in like hurricane :):):)

it is still my favorite song :)

This is nearly my exact story, beside I was 11 in 1991. 😃

Are you saying the boxset was released by Team Brazil and that they were in charge of pricing? I am pretty certain this criticism should be directed at Universal and not the band's management.

There is lots of valid criticism than can be levied at Team Brazil, making them the culprits for every grudge we have against the band is definitely not helping to create that fertile ground for communication between us and them, which is likely the only thing that can be beneficial to us.

You don’t think the band and/or management has no word regarding the price of their products, eg the boxset?! I won’t comment on that.

Maybe you just want to check your massive archive with regard to the question why the UYI albums had been split into two separate albums and/or LLAS had been rereleased as part of the Lies EP.

Some people on this board make me just shaking my head. Unbelievable.

    - Selling a very expensive AFD box you know only hardcore fans will buy and cutting the price by 500,- within a few months without compensating the day one buyers so basically rob them for 500,-

    This!

Because in terms of the L&L boxset we are not talking about „emotional“ topics any longer like individual views of people how a band should communicate with their fans or a band should allow concert footage on YT any longer. We are talking about - as you said - „robbing“ hard earned money from the hardcore fans on purpose. And that’s still unacceptable.

If they would have cut the price after one or two years, I would buy your „welcome to capitalism argument“ (I know it will come). But they didn’t. They cut the price after a very few weeks up to 50% and more and denied a refund. Of course, there is no legal entitlement to a refund. But also there is not a single reason why the hardcore fans shouldn’t be allowed to say „fuck you“ to band/TB for even alone this single bitch move! In fact, this move speaks volumes.

What exactly is this? Is this what was in the locker besides the CD stuff or are these the outtakes that have been out there for some time? I remember hearing a lot of these on Youtube (if it's the same thing).

Edit: And forgive me if this is all well known info. I'm not as up to date as I was 10-15 years ago.

Its a bootleg which was released for the first time in early 2000, maybe 2002.

  9. Seriously, a good start would be if they would mix up the order of the songs each night a little bit even if they play the exact same songs each show.

Second, they should delete all those ridiculous background videos with immediate effect. I think they are another reason why there is zero improvisation in the setlist and no song can make the setlist at short notice. „Hey guys, lets play Dead Horse tonight. I think we can do it.“ „Cool. Great idea ... but wait a minute ... we cannot do it. We need a video with a burning horse first.“  „Damn you’re right right. Then let us just play ... got it, Welcome to the Jungle.“

Really, no offense but those videos are just so american anyways and are obviously just meant to please the american average Joe who is asking for an „entertaining show“. I think you know what I mean.

In Europe no one expects such bullshit animations, at least in terms of a rockband. Its more like: set up the stage and get the goddamn band on to just blow the roof ... just  like the UYI shows. They were pure even if they happened in the biggest arenas of the world. No we are talking a „show act“, nothing more and nothing less. And this is just sad because this „show act“ character could be banned easily by just showing a little bit intention to improvise.

  10. Without new material and/or a touring break for at least two or three years any future tour will be considered as part of the NITL tour, even if they rename it.

Remember 91-93 where massive set list changes happened from year to year, the structure of the shows was different each year and various names had been given for various legs (Get in the Ring, Skin and Bones etc.). In the end it all was still the UYI tour.

For the record, I couldn't care less what anyone believes or doesn't believe.

As I said previously, I'm also couldn't care less who likes or dislikes TB. All I'm doing is stating facts.

If you choose not to believe stone cold facts that are presented, that's entirely up to each individual.

Russ, do yourself a favor and stop it here. You said everything there is to say more than often enough.

But even if so, what do you expect/want to happen? To Axl they are his family. He is not getting rid of them. Rather some hardcore fans being unhappy, then him shutting out the, presumably, most important people in his life. And as long as Axl sees it that way, there is nothing Slash and Duff could/would do about it. At the end of the day, Axl has made now millions. He don't need this reunion no more, if push comes to shove. I do think he rather stops the reunion (e.g Slash and Duff walk away... even though that will never happen as I don't think they are willing to give up GNR again over something that, at the end of the day, has no bearing on them) than to remove these people out of his life. So really, they are here to stay. Either you accept that or you blame Axl for it and leave.

I don’t expect anything from Axl. I just pointed out that it’s not that TB is treading the fans in an unacceptable way without Axl/GNR being aware of it like some members of this board seem to think.

So what exactly is it they've done that's so terrible? Banned a fan from their shows who illegally leaked material that wasn't his to leak?

Seriously, I don't know what it is they've done that warrants this kind of scorn?

No, it’s not this Rick guy being banned from the shows. It’s everything which has been discussed to death in here within the last years and which drives a lot of people crazy. Start wherever you want: lack of music, lack of interviews/communication, overpriced merchandise, overpriced tickets, GNRair, choreographied shows, Axls voice performance (stop playing shows if you’re voice needs a break instead of milking the cow), people getting threatened and no clear statement by the management and so on and so on.

If you as an active member of this board really don’t know why fans getting despaired with this band or at least have a critical opinion, I cannot help.

This affects you more than me, that's okay. And we're nowhere near MJ territory here. To me at least that's so far apart I can't even compare the two and I would react totally different.

Lio, I appreciate all your contributions to this board. Please don’t play dumb. I know you are not. Of course, I don’t compare MJ and GNR. I chose the MJ debate just to file the most obvious example one can think of in terms of high quality music suddenly being affected by how people see the artist as a person.

And just for the record: I didn’t quit being a GNR fan and listening to their music. In fact, I don’t think this will ever happen. I have been to multiple NITL shows all over Europe, bought their box set for EUR 1000 and I am still hoping for new music. But unfortunately, within the last years there have been more things which make me just shook my head than making me even an even more excited fan.  Its feels like I am watching a legend deconstructing themselves. Of course, Axl has done so for the last 20years but now also Slash and Duff are part of this. This is what makes the difference for me.

    16 minutes ago, Towelie said:

    You're probably right.

Really? Someone takes down a lot of GNR content from YouTube and you find it hard to enjoy their music as a result? Don't you think that's a bit of an overreaction?

Do I really need to comment in this? I don’t give a damn on any youtube videos. Shut whole Youtube down tomorrow. Fine, no problem for me. But I do give a damn about how GNR and/or their representatives tread their fans in public. I don’t think it’s that complicated, is it?!

  15. 7 minutes ago, Lio said:

We're fans of the music. Why would anything influence that? Least of all stupid TB. I'm still going to enjoy their music and shows.

    Well, that’s the old debate/question.

Of course, from an objective point of view the music won’t change, even if the respective artist turns out to be an asshole. But can you enjoy the music like you did before after you learned about the character of the artist?! (see the Michael Jackson debate and his ban from a lot of radio stations) .

In terms of GNR, right now I am having a hard time to just enjoy their music without a bitter feel because of everything what happened and/or has not happened within the very last years.

These parasites should realise that only amateur recordings and bootlegs kept this band alive in the dark years of no music and no live activity.

    This. Absolutely this.

I take this opportunity to say thank you very much to you for everything you did for the fanbase, @estebanf

What most people (including @Dexter and @Fernando) don’t get is that people like you did more for „GNR“  during the dark decades (!) than and they did themselves.

    7 hours ago, estebanf said:

Well, here are some news: we are GNR fans, not TB fans. Nobody is gonna shed a fucking tear if GNR goes on without these parasites.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree. This view of things is short-sighted and does not work for me (any longer).  Because TB act in the name and on behalf of GNR, especially Axl Rose. At minimum they tolerate TBs actions, if they have not even instructed TB to do so (what I personally expect to be the truth). I cannot just kill the messenger and still love the sender. I am fine if that way of thinking works for you but for me it is to simple and it is nothing but lying to yourself in order to justify yourself still being a GNR fan.

Don’t get me wrong. I for myself have a very hard time to realize and accept what this band - the band of my youth and favorite band of all time - has become. I am at the point where I tend to think that it would have been better if the reunion never happened.

If you know the industry a bit, there is no way any management of any band - especially a b(r)and in the size of GNR - is able to communicate in such a disrespectful way to the artists fans without the artist being aware. Its not that TB statements have happened behind close doors or have been a one time thing. They happened countless times ... via social media, this means in public. There are so many people within the GNR camp (including band members) that use social media that it’s impossible that none of them didn’t take notice.

This is why the „its all just TB“ or „fuck TB, hail GNR“ way finally does not work for me anymore.
