ITW 2012
Anybody else hate this guy and his band? They've made some of the most boring music I've ever heard. Yeah, he was in Nirvana, but so what? Kurt Cobain was that band. Grohl was never anything special. I think it's a joke that people make him out to be some great drummer. He's no Moon or Bonham. You don't hear his playing on an album and instantly recognize that as being Dave Grohl. Edited April 10, 2011 by ITW 2012
Guest Len B'stard
Don't hate em exactly, i certainly love Pat Smear although he ain't a regular member no more. And Daves a fuckin bastard behind the drums. And i liked their first album...but yeah all after was a load of shit. I bet Black Sabbath likes em, as far as i can gather he's the forums standard bearer for shit music taste I do think his playing recognisable though cuz he does fuckin lace em up. can't really argue with that though. Even then though Dave makes it sound a little...knobbley kneed. Edited April 10, 2011 by sugaraylen
ITW 2012
I always thought Butch Vig's production on Nevermind was what Axl was looking for on CD. Grohl's actual playing is nothing special.
Guest Len B'stard
Just the hit i suppose. He certainly ain't original but he goes at em a fair ol' lick.
Towelie
I quite like the Foo's. The first disc of In Your Honour and Echoes were both pretty solid. They're not exactly cutting edge, but they're good at what they do. ChineseDemocracy2004
I certainly love Pat Smear although he ain't a regular member no more. Actually he has rejoined the band and plays on their new album.
Spoon87
They've got some really really cool song, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan. Dave Grohl's probably the funniest guy in rock today! He's awesome, and such a class guy, too. Edited April 10, 2011 by Spoon87
stevGNR666
i was standing next to him one time when i was in a delaware amusment park (rehoboth beach) and i refused to shake his hand because i don't like anything he's put out since 1994. the them crooked vultures album had just come out and i thought it kinda sucked. Jumpin' Jack Flash
I fucking despise the Foo Fighters...shit music. I quite like his drumming, though. This was cool, too.
Snake Eyes
Boring band, but Dave Grohl is sound.
SunnyDRE
Love the Foo Fighters and don't se how they are boring? Better than most of the EMO same old crap the music scene is churning out these days.......hoping they come to Massachussets on their current tourSame.I don't like Grohl personally, because he stood in the way of a Sunny Day Real Estate reunion many years ago, but I don't mind the Foo Fighters. They have some pretty good tunes. You can't go to any bar down south and not hear one of their songs playing.
LightningBolt
I think they're very average.

moreblack
they were on SNL last night and played one new song I didn't mind, never knew its name...
chevelle
I don't know how you can hate Grohl as a person...he's one of the most down to earth rockstars you could find. You may disagree with his music, but I find him a hard person to hate. And honestly, he's one of the few drummers I actually can pick out by just listening. Street_Of_Dreams
I bet Black Sabbath likes em, as far as i can gather he's the forums standard bearer for shit music taste Sig'd I used to love them, then I grew up and realized they kind of suck. They make good singles but have never been able to make a good album, Echoes was okay but their new one is horrid. Good live show for sure."Friend of a Friend" is their best non-single song, it's actually pretty fantastic, can't find any good youtube rips tho
Jumpin' Jack Flash
Friend of a Friend is okay As a person he seems pretty chill, but my point still stands about his shitty band.
KBear
I agree with Randy. Of all the songs I've heard over the years, nothing sticks out as being remarkable in any way. I saw their second performance on SNL last night, again it was a very mediocre song. Grohl looked cool on the guitar though, and has some singing chops. But if the music is just bleh, then that's tough to overcome.A buddy of mind lent me a few of their albums...which I've still got to find the time to listen to. One disc was all acoustic, which I'm actually looking forward to.
Towelie
Echoes was a fantastic album. I defy anybody to deny the greatness of Come Alive.
ScottRose
Foo Fighters is the ultimate single-band, in my opinion. All their singles are pretty rockin' (All My Life, Everlong, Learn To Fly, The Pretender, Best Of You, D.O.A. etc), but the rest is pretty forgettable. He owned on Songs For The Deaf and in Them Crooked Vultures, though.
AbominableHoman
All My Life was a favorite tune of mine in early high school. Other than that can't say I dig most of their music, and never owned one of their albums.
batman007
I dont really mind some of the songs from them, but I dont really like Dave. I think since in the 92 (I think) vmas, where he kept on saying hi axl over and over. If u guys remember there was some kind shit that happ backstage, between Axl and Kurt. Kurt asked Axl if he could be the godfather (or something) to his child. There has been a couple of times Dave makes reference to Gnr, and not in a good way. mrandyk
I think he should just stay behind a drumset, Foo Fighters is bad. Just unlistenable. When a friend told me Dave Grohl is a musical genius I didnt even know where to begin to tell him hes wrong. I feel like he is just pussy whipped into saying that though, the same reason I believe he says Tool is one of the greatest bands ever. WhazUp
The new album is actually pretty good. Not to keen on their older stuff, but there are some great tracks on this new one
Dead Flower
Well, you can't deny their success.Personally, I find them a bit boring.Love his drumming, though. Songs for the Deaf = killer. Linky
