Flayer Posted February 20, 2012 Share Posted February 20, 2012 The mix actually started off bad and improved a ton - by about halfway through, it was actually at the stage where you could hear all the guitar parts, you could hear the bass (never comes through well in Youtube vids and it didn't at the Vegas stream), backing vocals were just right (audible but not overly loud like Vegas stream), and even keyboard and percussion parts from Dizzy and Pitman (which you probably won't even hear even live). There were a few parts where the vocals got disproportionately loud again, but from It's So Easy onward the mix was improving and it ended up being very good. I let somebody who isn't obsessed with GnR watch it today and she thought he sounded like Mickey Mouse on a lot of the songs. He's been better , yes, but he's been worse too. He was sucking wind bad on Jungle.It's not a weight issue, but his cardio fucking blows if he is huffing and puffing like that trying to get through a song. I was jamming out the whole time all the way up too Madagascar. I passed out and was rushed to a medical room in the backstage area. I couldn't breath and lost my heart beat. I was loaded into the ambulance and rushed to er. I survived and released a few hours later. Most exciting time and yet scariest moment of my live! Today was starting to head home but decided to stop by the hotel band was stayin at. Met Beta, Dizzy, Tommy, Del, Dj, Ron, Frank, and Richard! Would have met Axl but I would have had to wait till 8pm and I was still feeling the effects and started to head home. chicagocoma13 Posted February 21, 2012 Share Posted February 21, 2012 I have seen at least 50 shows at HOB Chicago----This was the worst sounding and mixed show I ever saw there for the most part. I could barely hear Axl at all until the last 45 minutes or so. The solos were great but at times too quiet. I really think the guys behind the board or somebody screwed this up. Hard to hit notes when you can't hear yourself maybe---maybe 3 guitars in this little venue was too much. The show did have many killer moments but I thought the Allstate show here last November was far better. KILLER SHOW !! These guys are an arena band . Still I'm glad I was there and I don't blame GNR for the crappy sound and mix on various songs. I also just watched some of the live feed and it is the opposite of how the venue sounded---His vocals are too high in that mix----go figure --- thanks for coming to Chicago GNR-----most fans leaving were really happy with the show Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But I watched the replay today and it sounded completely different in a bad way. I wonder if they had one or more different audio streams and some got good while others got bad last night.
