Crazyman
Miser are you saying you prefer Die Another Day over The World is Not Enough? The World is Not Enough is boring as fuck and is also somehow really depressing. At least Die Another Day, for all it's insanity, is fun. You are the first person I've ever seen with that opinion. Georgy Zhukov
Watching Quantum of Solace. For what its worth, it is not bad. I feel the film is a commentary on capitalism.
James Bond
That's probably what they were going for with the plot. It works, but it's kind of boring for Bond. There's zero sense of adventure in the film and the locations are dull. Still, it's a decent enough film made better because Craig turns in just as good a performance as he did in Casino.I disagree with Vega about The World Is Not Enough being boring. I just find there to be an awkward balance between the action and the drama, and the drama is dragged down by either poor acting or poor writing. I think it was Georgy who said earlier in the thread that Skyfall is The World Is Not Enough done right. I definitely agree with that. Still, I have a soft spot for TWINE since it was the first Bond I saw in theaters.
Georgy Zhukov
I felt Siena, Italy was the best location in the film.
Georgy Zhukov
What was the Section Chief of the CIA going "Jeez!" about and why did the flight attendent apologize? This was when the Chief had the meeting with Greene and the plane took off? Was it the turbulance? I hated how the film had that "I don't have to explain shit." attitude. James Bond
I agree. Loved Mathis' villa, and the opera scene looked great too. I think the cinematography brings down some of the locations, the desert not withstanding since I think it was intentionally dull. It's never "bright" enough, if that makes sense. Like the boat chase for example. Nice sunny day, clear waters, and yet none of that comes alive in the photography. I found this especially noticeable on the Blu-ray compared to say the Bahamas scenes in Casino Royale.Edit: I always assumed it was just the turbulence. Beam is a horrible character anyways. Georgy Zhukov
It is a pretentious film. Like Bond going hipster. Also, Quantum is a stupid name for an organization. Edited February 19, 2013 by Georgy Zhukov
Powerage5
I enjoy QOS...it's essentially a second-rate LTK with Craig. But Craig's performance still makes me rank it higher than LTK. Seriously, TWINE sucks. I just watched it yesterday and I barely even remember what it's about
Georgy Zhukov
I don't even know what is going on in QoS half the time. Like when the scene cuts from Matthis to this random bar on what appears to be an airplane cabin.Olga Kurylenko is bangable alright. She needs to come back. I feel it is sacrilege he didn't sleep with her.
Vincent Vega
That's if you really nitpick though. Technically James Bond is the worst secret agent of all time. Everybody knows who he is, what he looks like, what he drinks, what kind of weapon he carries, and every villain is well aware of his reputation. St. Johns "My God! You just killed James Bond! Connery: " Is that who it was? Well it just proves no one's indestructible"St. Johns: "You cant just kill James Bond and sit around waiting for the cops to arrive, we've gotta get these diamonds outta here and fast!" James Bond
Precisely. I love that scene just because it's so self-aware.
Georgy Zhukov
What about in Die Another Day when they were like "He name is James Bond, a British assassin."?
James Bond
They got that information from Miranda Frost though don't forget, so it's not quite the same as them just knowing who he is.
Powerage5
Plus, they're North Koreans. That's my whole argument Just started watching Casino Royale. It never bugged me before, but after watching all the films in order, I really don't like the fact that the Craig films (mostly) have the gun barrel sequence at the end of the film. I think it works how they did it in Casino Royale, since he wasn't 007 before the film started. Also, I still firmly believe Casino Royale is absolutely hands down the best title sequence of theseries. It'll take a lot to top that one! Georgy Zhukov
Watching Skyfall now. Fuck what an improvement from QoS.
Powerage5
There's one thing in Casino Royale I've never completely understood - how exactly does Bond make the connection that Mathis is working with Le Chiffre when Vesper gets the text from him at dinner? Georgy Zhukov
What I don't get what Bond meant by which trigger to pull in your pajamas. Did he mean his dick?
Powerage5
What I don't get what Bond meant by which trigger to pull in your pajamas. Did he mean his dick? Are you talking about what he says to Q in Skyfall? I think he was just taking a shot at him since Q had just said he can do more damage than Bond before his first cup of tea in the morning. One of my favorite Bond lines - "I've got a little itch down there...would you mind?" Georgy Zhukov
Damn British humor. I was talking about Q.I am really happy with the castings of Q and Moneypenny.

Georgy Zhukov
Well obviously they hate Noami Harris because she's black. Ben is young but it makes sense because a lot of these dudes with jobs like his are really young. Powerage5
Fuck, Casino Royale is just so good. Don't think I prefer it to Skyfall, but it is a close second.

Georgy Zhukov
The next Bond film should take place in New York City. That would be a hit.
ADPT
What about in Die Another Day when they were like "He name is James Bond, a British assassin."?That reminds me of the scene in Tomorrow Never Dies where they work he's a spy as his fake personal history is too clean. Good work MI6...
