Carburetta
Doesn't anyone think it's strange/interesting/revealing that the rasp which we all revere so much has never been put on record. Does that not tell us something?Appettite/ UYI/ CD has a clean sounding Axl voice. To state the obvious, if the rasp was/is something Axl is trying to achieve do you not think that voice might have made an appearance on an album at some point? CrazyJesus
He uses "the rasp" in the majority of the songs off of AFD, UIY I and II, and Lies and most of the time during each song. For example he uses rasp the entire time in Paradise City.Definition of "the rasp" would be distorted falsetto or a screaming falsetto.

Graeme
Opened up GNR on Spotify... First song that started playing "If the World", those verses sound like they're being sung through sandpaper. Argument dismissed .

Randy Lahey
It's straight Mickey Mouse from AFD thru CD. It's only now that Axl has perfected that voice live. Edited November 20, 2012 by Randy Lahey

Nosaj Thing
Some dumb people think that "rasp" only means whatever Axl was doing in Indiana 1991 for example. Go get your facts straight, all Gn'R albums are filled with rasp moments, even Chinese.

Sweersa
It sounds a little more forced in recent tours and CD, but sounds great IMO. Better is a good example.
