I'd say Guns N' Roses are my favourite band of all time and his music had a major impact on me since I was a kid but that's about it.I will always be a huge Guns N' Roses fan but Axl Rose seems to distant from the guy who was the greatest rock star that ever lived. I'm not saying he's bad and I think he's doing fine for 51 year old but his whole attitude and approach regarding the direction of this band has changed drastically. To me he often seems like a different person, not worse per se, but different from a guy I really wanted to talk to years ago.That doesn't mean I wouldn't still turn into a major fanboy if ever actually did meet him. Everyone is human. At the end of the day I was really surprised how I reacted when I met him. He too had been a huge figure in my life since 88 when I was 14yo. But even if I didn't I couldn't tell him anything interesting without seeming all fanboy. And either telling him how much I like him or dislike him is no good to either of us.
