jmapelian
Legally, it has to be classified as a form of defamation. Surely GNR attorneys will have little difficulty in challenging this?Letters axl wrote defaming axl? Dude, wtf are you talking about?
Axl_morris
Any one remember Erin putting up loads of axl pics on instagram a few months ago? Then all her friend were like "omg what u doing?" Then she removed them.Cobbled together with concert appearance she may have been feeling nostalgic. She's probably moving house or clearing out old shit and thought about making a quick buck. Its probably been so many years she probably doesn't see it as offensive...or maybe the new husband has come across this, slapped erin about for still having it and put it in auction himself. Dariablue
We're also talking about love letters written by a guy who's still emotionally wrecked by things that happened in his past I'm sure the things he did to Erin impacted her life greatly. Patience 4 Axl
Legally, it has to be classified as a form of defamation. Surely GNR attorneys will have little difficulty in challenging this?Huh? HE wrote the letters. So, he defamed himself? Which would mean he somehow damaged his own character and good name. I'd say that's a no.

ManetsBR
People, the issue is not the content of the letter, it's the intention and purpose.
Scott Disick
It's too bad that this "news" couldn't have coincided with the release of "The General".It would have been great promotion for a handful of people.

They're not contracts, just letters, and she has no obligation to keep them private. There may be some case law if she was publishing them, for copyright reasons I think (?) , not sure if this scenario would still even apply. But selling them, and it making someone potentially feel butthurt is not a legal issue.

Letters of this nature usually only surface posthumously.

Apollo
Selling those personal things is not right. The wedding ring ok, but love letters, breakup notes, legal documents?? It's a person's life, if you don't want it destroy it, don't give it away. It's like giving away something you don't have the right to give away. And exchange money for it, whatever the reason for the money? Not cool, on top of not being right.Oh please, what the fuck are you whining about - they are erin's personal effects and she has the right to do whatever the fuck she feels like doing with them - if axl doesn't want them out there, he can pay an exorbitant amount for them --Exactly.These are items that belong to Erin. They were given to her. She can do whatever she wants with them.
Axl_morris
The greatest apology has to be "think of me when you wipe yo ass". I can't stop finding this hilarious. axlsalinger
People are definitely reading way too much into this. Like it or not, this happens to people in the public eye all the time. J.D. Same with Kurt Cobain's journals. These were never written with the intention of becoming public. But that is part of the price of fame.
