DieselDaisy
My favourite era for Hammer is actually the early '70s, when the films were not doing so well financially and consequentially cleavages seemed to lose their gravitational pull and they chucked copious amounts of blood and lesbianism in, to try and counteract, plummeting box office receipts. Three others of that ilk: Lust for a Vampire, Countess Dracula and The Vampire Lovers. Ingrid Pitt was of course the star of that era.By the way, have a look at the tagline on this:Great stuff. Guest Len B'stard
I think there are certain like...psychological thrillers and that that serve the function of a horror film better than horror films. I mean you can't really call something like Salo a horror film in the typical sense of the word but it serves it's function better than most. Or something like Straw Dogs or Deliverance. Iron MikeyJ
I agree with everyone's picks, but I'd also add:The HowlingSilver BulletFright Night 1 and 2 (originals not remakes)Night of the demons 1 and 2 (originals also, not remakes)Amityville horror 2 the possesion (original not remake)Hellraiser 1 and 2House of 1000 corpsesDevil's rejectsCandymanPumpkinheadInsiduous 1 was great 2 was okITPoltergeist 1,2,3when a stranger calls (original)freakssuspiriaan american werewolf in londonthe thingauditionthe vanishing (original)phantasmphantasm 2re-animatorthe house of the devileraserheadbehind the mask:the rise of leslie vernonmaniac (original AND the remake)motel helltwitch of the death nervepiecesYou have some good taste in horror man. Have you seen the oroginal sequal to When a stranger calls? I think it's called When a stranger calls back? That film really freaked me the fuck out when I saw it for the first time. I actually saw the sequal before I saw the original, so that one is a little freakier than the original, for me anyways. Scream was a total rip off of those movies...

DieselDaisy
It says a lot about modern cinema that we all are having to attach in brackets, 'original' or something similar to our selection!
