Appetite For Democracy First-Week Sales Revealed

Recommended Posts

GUNS N' ROSES' "Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live From The Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas" sold around 4,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The show was filmed on November 21, 2012 during the "Appetite For Democracy" tour in celebration of twenty-five years of "Appetite For Destruction" and four years of "Chinese Democracy".

"Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live From The Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas" was made available in North America on July 1 on Blu-ray, featuring the complete concert film in both 3D and 2D plus an interactive 3D photo gallery, and standard DVD featuring the 2D version of the film. Both releases are mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound and feature bonus interviews with the band. The GN'R Appetite For Democracy Official App (iOS/Android) brings the concert experience to a new level by connecting GN'R directly with their fans, allowing fans to connect with each other via social media, buy exclusive merchandise, check tour/cinema dates for the movie, preview digital tracks of the film; and purchase or stream via VOD the digital long form concert.

Produced by Rock Fuel Media's Barry Summers, "Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live From The Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas" is the first official GUNS N' ROSES live concert film since 1992's "Use Your Illusion" concert video.

Thanks for posting that SJ! I'm not sure what the number means either. I may do some digging and try to find first week sales from some other rock blu-rays to compare it to.

edit-

So far I've found one site claiming that the Vegas blu ray by Def Leppard sold 10907 copies in the first week. I think that was a blu-ray/CD combo though so it's not exactly apples to apples.

Special thanks to the crazed fan base who bought umpteen copies to make this happen. Beta thanks you for making her half assed attempt at competence worth the headache

Seriously though. Round of applause.

Fun Fact: If you Google "smashing pumpkins blu ray billboard sales numbers" the thread comes up on the first page of results.

I'm famous!

Song is terrible, but your post reminded me of it:

lol Def Leppard. What about a decent band's blu-ray? Coma said Smashing Pumpkins had one?

Carnival of Sins Live from Mötley Crüe is 3x platinum in the US :hahafyou:

Side note: several friends of mine were at the show Carnival Of Sins was filmed at. Unfortunately for them, they were also at the same venue for the train wreck of an opening night Crue had the other night :/
