i was really tempted to take cincy only because the colts oline is horrible, but dalton tends to wet the bed in this situation(luck hasnt been great either) and i think without green the bengals are fucked on offense.

I think the Cincinnati-Indy game will be a great case study of "Would you rather have a mediocre quarterback with a good team or a good quarterback with a mediocre team?"

most definitely, it will be a close one no doubt.

These Arizona Cardinals have the worst punter I've ever seen, not to mention a horrible QB, and RBs. How does

a team like this make the playoffs in the first place?

they had a solid qb in palmer that could move the ball and keep the defense rested. lindley is beyond bad and the defense is just getting winded. all those 3 and outs over the course of a few weeks will grind a great defense into dust.

As a Seahawks fan I really wish Lindley's Cardinals (lol) could have pulled a win out of their ass. CanNNewton is heating up lately, though his arm is still inconsistent and mediocre, and I feel like the Hawks defense (Chancellor) is going to take his head off on a run if he tries enough.

Pretty much. Especially if Gresham can't go either. Dalton's receivers will be Sanu, Greg Little, Brandon Tate, and Cobi Hamilton--one who has shown the ability to be good but has disappeared the second half of the season, two who struggle mightily with drops, and one who's only on the team as a return specialist (even though Pacman has rightfully taken away most of his returns). The Colts' D can pretty much ignore the passing game and focus entirely on Hill/Bernard. Defense and Pacman on returns are going to have to win this one for the Bengals. Have zero confidence in the offense if the Colts load up to stop the run.

If *this* same Ravens team shows up on Foxboro, or anywhere for that matter, it's going to be hard to beat them. Aggressive pass rush, Disciplined as far as penalties, solid rushing and some clutch smart QB play, there may not be a more balanced team in the playoff field.

Unfortunately, as has been the case all season, you never know which team will show up, the team that beats up the Steelers in Pittsburgh, or the team that barely squeezes by Jacksonville at home. One thing is for certain, the Pats knew they match up better against Cincy or Pitt. The Ravens are, and Tom Brady has acknowledged this on many occasions, one of the only teams that don't bat an eye at going into Foxboro in January. I still take Pats at home, but it will be interesting.

Colts/Bengals will be interesting. I don't have much faith in the Colts this year. Luck's awesome but even then I don't think he's as good as a lot of people think he is. He misses way too many gimme passes, and while he makes a lot of plays most other QB's are never going to make, those really tend to balance out into a QB that still has a ways to go before he's considered anywhere near the Peyton/Rodgers/Brady tier of QB's. Colts have absolutely no rushing threat, so it'll be interesting to see if Hilton can make those handful of huge plays he's going to need to make for the Colts to have a chance offensively. The other battle should also be interesting. Vontae Davis has been fantastic this year, and Sanu is the only receiver on the Bengals that's really threatening at all. If Davis can play as well as he has all year, the Bengals shouldn't be able to get much going through the air. I have no faith in the Colts' front seven to contain the Bernard/Hill duo, though. I think the Bengals are the better team, but then again the Colts' defense completely shut down the Bengals once this season so maybe they'll step up again.

Cowboys/Lions is definitely the game of the weekend on paper. I think it's an extremely difficult game to pick.

i definitely agree with this. the left tackle of the patriots nate solder has been banged up as well. the thing about tom brady is the guy is scared to get hit. when he gets hit enough he starts to do weird things, he will start to fall down before he throws a pass or sometimes he will do this shoulder duck thing thinking someone is behind him( go watch giants superbowls, mid 2000s games vs dolphins or buffalo/jets games from this year) to me in all honesty in the beginning of the game it would be worth it for ngata to put his helmet under brady's chin 15 yards or not just to put it in his head. brady has never had an oline outside of the top 10 in his whole career(if i remember right) so hitting him will go a long ways.

on offense i think the jets and the dolphins from game 1 have pretty much laid out how to beat new england. yes the patriots oline has gotten better but on defense the patriots can still be exposed with the run. just keep plugging away on those 4 or 5 yard runs and keep brady on the sideline not to mention getting chunks of yards like that will force the safeties up and that will expose another weakness of the patriots and that is the tight ends. the safeties of the patriots kind of suck and jerrod mayo their starting linebacker went down for the season and tight ends have exposed that weakness in the patriots. i think if flacco can play like he did today and he has shown he can get crazy hot in the playoffs and the ravens defense can get pressure i think the ravens have a damn good shot at taking down the patriots.

You are the first person I've heard say that, most people have the Cowboys winning without even giving it much thought. Even the "experts" on ESPN have been just all over the Cowboys nuts. Which as a Lions fan is fine with me, make us the under dog, I don't care. Bigger the pride, bigger the fall. The Cowboys are good, but honestly they don't scare me as much as GB and Seattle do, plus its gonna be perfect game conditions, unlike playing in GB. Lions for the win!!!!

I'd agree in saying that out of all the AFC teams, the Ravens present the worst matchup for us. However, if we approach the game with a similar mindset as we did the Lions game (a similar team in my mind), I think we pull out a physical game by a score or so.

edit: for clarification, I mean on the offensive side of the ball, as in the Lions game we saw a lot of short passes, quick drops, not trying to get too much on one play (which has been our issue with McDaniels as coordinator against other teams with strong front 7s, maybe it happened in a Super Bowl, idk, I've had a few blocked out of my mind). That brought us success and a W against Detroit and I think it can do the same next week.

This might be a bold prediction, but the winner do Ravens-Pats goes to the super bowl. Colts are unproven, have no rushing game, and it's the wrong time of year to have Andrew Luck throw 45 times a game outdoors. I simply don't believe in Peyton's arm this time of year, particularly since it seems to have regressed quicker than usual this season. Cincy doesn't have the mental fortitude, starting at the QB spot, to make a serious run.

Pats have proven they can spank the Broncos at home. Belichick will force peyton to throw outside and deep at Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, and it will look terrifyingly like last year's super bowl.

At some point fans have to acknowledge that regular season Flacco and postseason Flacco are two different people, and post season Flacco is one of the best in the game. This phenomena can not be explained, but in his past 8 playoff games he has 20 tds v 2 ints. All of the criticism of Flacco's inconsistency in the regular season is justified, regular season Flacco at best is ranked between 8-12, but Postseason Flacco and the Ravens can beat anyone anywhere.

For these reasons, I'd be surprised if it werent the Ravens or Pats playing the Packers of Seahawks in the super bowl.
