int8
Quote Izzy is so mysterious, yet loved by so many for his songwriting and sense of “cool.” Tell us something about his personality. Is he funny? Any interesting hobbies? Strange eating habits? Anything? I haven’t seen him or spoken with him in almost 20 years. Yes, he is a very funny, funny man. He was always just one of those guys, even before he was in GN’R. You know, they come along every once in a while. They have an innate sort of charisma, whether they want it or not. OK, going back to the funny …. share a funny Izzy story On gig day somewhere in Australia we were being escorted across a parking lot by local security when this fan, who’d magically been every place we’d been throughout the trip, starts screaming for the thousandth time “IZZY!! IZZY!! PUNCH ME IN THE FACE!!!” Izzy finally turns to the nearest security dude and goes “Could you please punch that kid in the face he’s been asking for it all week.” Did he do it? Nah, we were all laughing too hard. I once read somewhere that you were a little bitter about the breakup of the Ju Ju Hounds. For me, the years after realizing that the band was over were the hardest of my life. But the only person responsible for that is me by having allowed addiction to take me over completely. It was his band and he had every right to do or not do whatever he wanted with it. I just wish that whatever it was could’ve been worked out by talking to his friends and band members about it, and I wish that, if nothing else, we could’ve remained great friends. So what ultimately caused the break-up? There was a ton of pressure on the guy at the time, and even though the crowds in Europe, Japan, Mexico, Australia really seemed to appreciate what we were doing, the crowds and press in the US couldn’t seem to shake the G N’ R comparisons. I felt that must’ve weared on him quite a bit, ya know? The little bit we toured here was pretty brutal and attendance was never enough to be breaking even, let alone for it to be lucrative. He was spending a ton of his own money to make it happen. That gets expensive, and when it starts to feel under appreciated or appreciated for the wrong reasons, it starts to not make a whole lotta sense. Im glad to see that he still enjoys making and recording new music -just without all the drama and hustle-bustle of the whole deal … and right now, boy can I can relate! Anyway, the JuJu Hounds ended because Izzy didn’t wanna do it anymore. I’ll never know what he was feeling that would’ve led him to that decision because i’m not him. Any regrettable behavior on my part happened as a result of the end of that band, not while I was in it. It was my favorite band and still is, and I was crushed that it was over. It took a long time to for me to even come to terms with it being finished. As a result, I made a series of terrible decisions regarding drugs/crowd in the years that followed that culminated in me being sent to prison. That's the part about Izzy from different interview with Jimmy. Seems like Jimmy's addiction happened as a result of the breakup, but who knows? If so, damn, that's even worse. I agree with you @Kris_1989 and @Tori72, we need to know what Izzy has to say about it Thank you @Kris_1989 for linking the interview, the whole story is new to me. I agree with you @Kris_1989 and @Tori72, we need to know what Izzy has to say about it Thank you @Kris_1989 for linking the interview, the whole story is new to me. That's what I'm confused about. I know in a earlier interview Jimmy said that he started using when he was having trouble relating to Izzy. He thought that by using heroin it would bring them closer. As stupid as that sounds. Which is why I always thought Izzy left the JuJu hounds because of the drugs. I figured he didn't want to go down that road again and took off before it got too bad. But in this interview it sounds like all that happened later and Izzy left without any warning? The whole situation is a bit weird? (The other interview was posted earlier in this thread but I cant remember which page, sorry!) New Steven interview is out. He comes in at 1:11:23. I didn't want to post this in the main section because you all know what will happen. So now he's saying he's retired. I was really hoping he would join up with a band or start one of his own again. C'mon Steven you can't let that Argentina BS be your last show!

They didn't want the reunion, they worshiped the hired guns, telling that Slash was nothing near them. Now that Axl is good with Slash again, they act like they loved Slash all that time. Got to love it, I think somebody had too much time on his hands, well done @Kris_1989 @BorderlineCrazy @Słash loved your posts. The Jimmy Ashhurst interview is a good one, I like Jimmy and always wondered what went down in Tinidad, there's an interview were Jimmy says that he greatly regretts never having the oppertunity to settle things with Izzy. It really does seem that when Izzy decides he doesn't like something he washes his hands of it and moves on. I haven't seen the latest Steven video, do we learn anything new? not sure if I have the energy to watch it.

And if Izzy were involved and the situation with Steven was the same, I'd criticize him too no matter how much I love or admire him. As you said, first the cancer was Slash, now it's Izzy (they don't even take Steven seriously) just because he never put up with Axl's shit. Exhausting. And seriously, if I read the word "partnership" again... Ugh. About the "Izzy has no stage presence" I won't even bother. The videos are there and he has it. He just got it. He doesn't need to move frantically like he needs an exorcist. He's got the fucking charisma and coolness around him and that's it, you got it or not. 2 hours ago, Archtop said: The Jimmy Ashhurst interview is a good one, I like Jimmy and always wondered what went down in Tinidad, there's an interview were Jimmy says that he greatly regretts never having the oppertunity to settle things with Izzy. I don't really have an opinion about Jimmy, I kinda found his affirmation of doing drugs to relate to Izzy lame, like, he lacks a personality or something but he seems genuinely upset about losing Izzy's friendship. I don't know, for other people's interviews it seems that he is a very good friend but I really think that he hates confrontation of any type and when the situation turns into something he doesn't like he just runs away no matter what or who he leaves behind.

Get your black robes and brooms, my fellow witches, it's gonna be a busy night. I don't know how Slash deals with the GNR world. He's a guy who loves writing and recording music, he's always working, gives many interviews, tries to put things together in advance (when he's recording new music, when it gets released). Everything about SMKC was crystal clear and things were pretty genuine, setlists would vary... I miss all that and I'm sure he does too. He must be enjoying the money and even more the fact that's he's getting to rock full stadiums all over the world but still it can't be easy to do things the way his nemesis Axl wants. I gotta say Steven again mentioned the "unless there were an establish band..." thing. So it looks like he's sort of putting his music career in hiatus but there's still hope he might do something in the future and I bet if Izzy invited him to play a song with him, Steven would be there before Izzy got to hung the phone. A new Izzy thread? WHY!? Heeeere we go again. 15 minutes ago, Kris_1989 said: It's just all so corporate now. If you check the show threads, there's always someone asking "is this show sold out?" as if that was gonna make any difference. I love music, that's why I'm a Guns N' Roses fan and not an Apple or Burger King fan...
