Some of the Express's obsessions are really off kilter though and not just linked to a right-wing middle English disposition. Recently they have developed a strange obsession with ITV's quiz show, The Chase, https://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/1148195/The-Chase-Bradley-Walsh-Mark-Labbett-The-Beast-ITV-quiz-video-watch https://www.express.co.uk/videos/6055588587001/The-Chase-Contestant-makes-awkward-Bradley-Walsh-admission etc.

What’s the history behind that? The people here who are into ''the royals'' tend to be Cliff Richard fans and watchers of Wimbledon. They also shop in Waitrose. They tend to be a curtain twitchy brigade. Probably goes back to the ancient Greeks who distributed amphorae, vases and such like during the ancient Olympic Games. I actually find the Mail has an unwarranted reputation as ''the bible of right-wing hate''. It has too many odd stories about neighbours fighting over overgrown trees and nude gnomes and weird ''middle England suburban curtain twitchy stuff'' in. It is like a middle class Sun basically. I wouldn't even say The Mail is that arsed about Brexit to be honest, although it does have a penchant for a good olde ''migrant story''. The Express is the true Brexit newspaper at least and runs a plethora of stuff about how messed up the Europeans are right now. It is also obsessed with the royals. The cricket section is appalling in the Express - IPL shite. I like the Telegraph best because of their cricket coverage. The Sport and Sun are genius headline writers. You'll often see me quote them.

It only stopped when Mother sprung us and Granny told her what she’d been buying us every day for the last two years. Sending a blind old lady to the paki shop to buy porn for us every day for years I’m sure that if there is a hell there’s a place for us there. We got something of a hiding for that one. A lot of the Mail's stuff isn't even political. It has a feminine section with dietary and fashion stuff in. Incidentally I was in a pub the other day and some bloke was having a conversation with another bloke loudly which involved giving directions to some place: ''you nah that Paki shop on the corner?''. It is amazing how this political correct stuff ends at the pub door.
marlingrl03
Happy 4th! Pretty good one up here....but no fireworks in many cities because of a burn ban cause of our many wildfires. Plus we are breaking heat records and hit 89* in Anchorage. May not seem high BUT this is Alaska....most of us dont have AC and so it feels like we are living in a ball of fire. But yeah other than that lol it was a good day! 1
cineater
I was bending over at the parade to pick up candy and somebody, maybe two somebodies, threw handfuls of candy at me. Got me right in the head.

I mostly remember firecrackers, bottle rockets, sparklers, and Roman candles. Now you hear about people getting their hands blown off or worse. Its illusory, its a notion regarding 'what should be' and 'what should be' is something akin to hypothesis, there is no 'what should be' in real terms, there only is what is. I think it (political correctness) has impacted the north less than it has impacted London. And it is not as if everyone who speaks like that is a racist, or a certified member of the EDL - although that may sometimes be the case, and I'm sure the political correct brigade would label as such - just that is the lingo up here, especially in a blokish pub type surrounding. I think that goes for the world over, though my guess is based on zero. Even word like n!gger, which is considered by many to be a lot more offensive than paki, you think its not used a whole fuckload more frequently than all the people who say 'the n-word' when referring to it tend to claim? For a start its difficult to sing-a-long to your favourite rap tune without it People speak how they want to, I don't think they give a shit what they're 'supposed' to do.
