ZoSoRose
I am saying this as someone who liked TFA, Rogue One, and TLJ quite a bit... I don't see any scenario where this movie is considered good. The fact that there has been zero marketing for such a huge release this close to opening speaks volumes to me.
rocknroll41
Firet teaser trailer will reportedly air during the Super Bowl this Sunday: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/solo-a-star-wars-story-trailer-will-finally-be-rev/1100-6456495/
rocknroll41
Trailer now confirmed for Monday (I guess the superbowl might just have a little snippet or something): https://www.gamespot.com/articles/solo-a-star-wars-story-trailer-release-confirmed-f/1100-6456495/
James Bond
I'm more excited for the Mission: Impossible - Fallout trailer.

Black Sabbath
The amount of disinterest I have is astounding.
rocknroll41
Oh well. At least Donald Glover as Lando in a fur coat looked pretty cool.
luciusfunk
Looks interesting enough so far. Enough to have actually grabbed my attention.
James Bond
Meh. After Rogue Bore and The Worst Jedi my interest in Disney's Star Wars and the future of the franchise is at an all time low. That said I know my ass will still be in the theatre watching this and hopefully being pleasantly surprised.

Powerage5
Full trailer, and it uses almost none of the footage from the Super Bowl ad:
James Bond
I want to think it won't be a steaming pile of poop. Admittedly that does make it look better than the Super Bowl variant.
Powerage5
I think it looks fun at least.

ZoSoRose
They once again nailed the aesthetic of the movie. Looks like a SW movie, at least. It doesnt look like a bad movie, but I still wish it wasnt a "Han Solo" movie. So dumb
appetite4illusions
Sure looks goofy. The whole de-saturated look contrasts with the off the cuff sketch-comedy. The fact that they're hiding Alden is a pretty big red flag that he may be the weakest factor of the film. Didn't even flash that big Harrison grin. It's pretty ironic to me, considering that this guy was chosen out of the lot of every young up and comer in Hollywood. For those who saw his great turn in Hail Ceaser!, it's basically entirely consistent with his character in that film: a guy chosen to be a movie star because he has a certain presence, yet outside of that screen presence, his acting talent is downright dubious. DieselDaisy
Looks underwhelming and rather predictable; you can rather predict the scenarios and plotlines in advance.
Silent Jay
It's pretty hard to think that's Han Solo. You get Chewbacca out of the picture and it looks like something else. I think the whole movie is kind of very unnecessary. Still I'm sure people will find it fine for what it is.
DieselDaisy
Slightly off topic but does anyone remember that scene in one of the prequels where Yoda goes, overtly emphasised just in case the audience do not pick up this incredibly forced connection, ''...and Chewbacca''. Fackin' awful! PS I bet that Solo film will be packed full of Marvel humour. Edited February 5, 2018 by DieselDaisy
RussTCB
Very on the fence about this but I'm going to try to watch it with an open mind.

I don't like Yoda's characterization in the prequels in general but that line is probably among the worst things uttered by him in the entire series. So blatantly shoehorned. 2

It is truly ghastly.
Powerage5
There’s one thing I’ve seen mentioned a lot on Reddit which I think is worth repeating here; acting chops aside, why should Alden need the same height of charisma in the role as Ford had? It’s an origin story for Han, he shouldn’t necessarily be the fully developed character that Han was by ANH. It’s like, in the Young Indiana Jones Chrinicles, Sean Patrick Flannery didn’t have the same charisma as Ford did but it worked because it was about how Indy became the character we know and love, and no one roasted Flannery for that. The same logic should apply here. Now if he’s a hack of an actor that’s another thing, but I see not having the Han Solo charm as a non-issue.
