  1. Atlas or even SoG could have replaced Scraped and the likes easily, come on.
  2. Or it's like any other organ that reacts differently in individual cases. I love broccoli, and there are people who are alergic to it. When I stretch, my muscles hurt. When a gym guy doesn't stretch, his muscles hurt (I imagine). Bad examples, but you know what I mean.
  3. Did you say A loaded gun jammed by a rose? https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/the-rock-album-ozzy-osbourne-never-gets-tired-of-hearing/
  4. I may be one of the forum optimists (at least regarding the quantity of material), but/therefore I’ll say I believe there’s more material. After all, the more CD stuff they put on "the new album", the less new songs Axl will have to come up with. Which is sad, but... what can we do. I always say throw in also some unused 90s stuff, make it 1/3 of each batch in the overall content, and we’re in for a great fucking record. As long as they manage to make it stick together (it would be a patchwork after all), plus proper mixing etc. (unlike what we’ve heard so far in the case of HS and The General). Here’s hoping.
  5. I can't listen to it right now, but I mean what follows after the initial verses, the stuff that goes "I’d be the last to say 'don’t follow your heart'" etc. There's this change that sort of broke the mood for me, although I understand the entire song couldn't have continued with just that first melody. It's still pretty decent and definitely one of the best Village songs. HS, Atlas, SoG (and of course Monsters). Perhaps is a good song but mediocre for a band like GNR and their level we're used to.
  6. The beginning of Atlas was one of the best Village moments. The initial part, with the drums and semi-acoustic guitars and then the verses and melodies of vocals. I was thrilled, it sounded like a very promising material. It was almost dreamy, like from a parallel reality where GNR released CD2; made me think of things that could have been. Then there was this change of tone, which I didn’t appreciate that much. Been a while since I’ve last heard it, though. Atlas + Monsters would be a great idea and the strongest single so far. Which is why it may not happen. The doubt is strong with this one.
  7. I know what 'go long' means only because of Rachel in that Friends episode.
  8. Axl has released one record in 30 years. The last/newest things he's released were written when he was around 38. Just sayin'.
  9. I mean, it’s definitely the same thing. A couple of rehashed demos from 20 years ago and a few different deep cuts every now and then since 2016 on the one hand (GNR), and on the other hand 6 new albums since 2017 with 2 completely different tours, including several completely different acts within a single tour (TS), that’s definitely the same thing! Hey, a new release is a new release, right?
  10. Omg guys I saw Taylor's gig yesterday. She was looking less bloated, cracking jokes, takes care by us!
  11. If Cobain was still alive, he woulda blown his brains out a long time ago. Yep.
  12. This goes to show how sad the music industry is. As for TS, she may be big today, but in 50 years, nobody except the fans (who’ll have been retired by then) will be able to tell a difference between a random song by Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, or Rihanna or whoever the hell. (Btw, I myself know 2 songs by LG and know how she looks like; never seen TS as far as I know; I could probably identify MC, as she was in Black Mirror iirc; not sure about Rihanna either.) They are managerial products – and I’m not saying they’re completely talentless – and don’t differ from the rest of the same pop material in any huge way. In any case, music is at a different place now than it was 30+ years ago, which is why comparing the pop stars from then (setting the path for others, btw) with the today’s kids on the oversaturated market isn’t exactly gonna make much sense.
  13. The answer has two words. One of them is Team and the other one is a country.
  14. Exactly! Btw I still haven't finished the Daryl spin-off. I like it, I'm just lazy.

  16. If anyone outside of the forum would be asked about this today, barely anyone would remember or even know what this is about. Especially considering her statements have differed over time. Guns can go on, without doubt.
  17. Ok, well it's at least based on his writing then. I still think that was more or less how it happened, though.
  18. Well then either they lied, weren't aware of it, or someone imitated him.
  19. But other than it not being "a warm-up exercise", the rest is pretty much the same - i.e. Slash coming up with the riff while messing around, then Izzy adding chords and Axl following up on that. And if they weren't around, Slash wouldn't have presented the riff to the band. I wonder what was originaly said in that Slash's book (don't remember) and whether and why it differs from what he told Trunk way later.
