  1. Well this song sure is a steaming pile of shit.. It has zero elements of what made Guns N' Roses one of the greatest bands of all time. Perhaps was decent (no great) but this and the other two are fucking terrible.. Keep diminishing that legacy boys!
  2. Aside from maybe Perhaps I would throw all the "new" songs out the window. While overpriced I really like the UYI Vinyl Box Set. Also, nice to get official releases of things like the acoustic Jumpin Jack Flash and a few other extras from the Appetite Box set. Some cool versions of Move to the City.
  3. Judging from the music in IFOS and PG, Slash and Gilby had great writing chemistry together. It is too bad things panned out the way they did. I still think the band would sound better today with Gilby over Fortus. Even if Fortus is the more technical player.
  4. Pawnshop Guitars was a great album at the time.. As a Gn'R fan you should check it out.. There are some killer tracks on there and guest spots from I think Axl, Slash, Duff, Matt, Dizzy and Teddy I believe.. As well as a couple other musicians..
  5. That would be amazing. Wichita Lineman and maybe a few originals.. A semi acoustic cover of one of their own songs.. How hard can that be? Axl using his low voice... Or the mid range rasp he seemed to be able to find on "I feel Good".. That voice was very similar to some of the stuff on LIES..
  6. Honestly neither if the intention is just to release more frankensteined CD demos.. After almost 8 years back together lol
  7. I would prefer them dig up stuff from the classic era.
  8. Baritone over Mickey every day!!! Props to Axl for doing what he needs to do to make it work.
  9. I hope so.. While Perhaps was ok the rest of the songs are trash.. They have been back together for almost 8 years now.. Slash and Duff could have pasted their tracks over CD demos in two weeks, released them all and been done with it.. But here we are... I go to the shows get fucked up and have a good time but once the shows are over there is nothing even remotely to get excited about with this band.
  10. Thsi is the best thread here in ages.. I hadn't heard any of the these quotes. Thanks for posting.
  11. I would follow them on tour.. I hope it happens whiel Axl still has something left in the tank..
  12. I'm only pissed off by this thread.. lol.. Izzy is the man... I am just bummed I never got to see him live. That would amazing if did a theater tour playing a mix of His solo stuff and a handful of Guns songs..
  13. It is about who wrote the songs and when... Tracks that were recorded in a time spanning decades.. By people that aren't in the band and more. Using Slash and Duff as Session musicians to lay down tracks over previously writtem demos.. Axl's vocals from 99.. No one else puts albums together like this lol.. Not even close.. It has also taken them 7 years to do what they could have done in 2 weeks and then went on to bigger and better songs written by this lineup.. Or at minimum, recorded by this lineup.. The songs aren't even that good.. Most agree Absurd sucks.. Its a mixed bag on Hardschool.. Perhaps is better but not great.. I do really like the verses.. I have no idea what Axl is saying during that other part.. It is too Muddy.. Slash's guitars are too low.. This could have been a song that they recorded over from scratch and ended up pretty damn good.
  14. This was the best Boston show since the Foxboro shows..
  15. It was awesome the other night... People were into it.. Absurd and Hardschool on the other hand.. .. not so much I love Slash's part on TIL... I also like their versions of Sorry and CD but don't like the studio versions.
  16. It was probably the mushrooms but I didn't mind TIL last night lol.. Slash's solo was awesome.. Great show over all.. I had row 19 of section A3 but it really ended up being only 3 rows behind the pit. Killer seats. Was pumped to see Bad Obsession, Pretty Tied Up, Anything Goes and Reckless Life.. They were all phenominal.. Axl was pretty strong the first half of the show but struggled a bit more as it went on. Everyone was singing anyway so it didn't really matter. The crowd was great considering the weather. The monsoon was something else.. My sneakers were full of water and I was soaked down to my boxers.. It was crazy.. Made for a memorable experience for sure but I am glad it tapered off eventually .. The whole "Like Holy Water" part of Slither with the buckets of rain coming down was just one of those moments that will stick forever.. Nightrain wasa beast last night... So much energy... Slash's solo spot was short but amazing. Axl fell down again at one point.. But recovered seemlessly.. He sure falls alot these days.. Great show but always have to have some critiques.. This is the second time in a row the Fenway show was only like 2hrs 25 minutes when the rest of the world gets 3 hour shows. Which kind of sucks.. Setlist FM says the show went til 10:25 but Paradise City finished at like 10:12.. Maybe 10:17 but they could have fit in another song.. Knowing the curfew, they should have went on by 7:30 as well rather than 7:45.. I was really looking forward to Down on the Farm so was bummed about that.. Absurd is fucking terrible and a waste of time.. Torture lol.. I took a piss during Hardschool.. Perhaps is the better of the 3 but can still take it or leave it... I would definately leave it for the chance to see Down on the Farm or Locomotive and they certainly would have made more sense to drop one of those before Brownstone. Great that they want ot play their latest releases but they really aren't good enough that they need to play all of them.. There were no intro jams before KOHD, Jungle or Ptience.. Axl might want to re-think his out fot he had on for NR and Patience too lol.. That vest with his belly hanging out under it.. Was pretty awkward to look at.. I think this was my 5th post reunion show and I would say it ranked number #2 out of the 5. Great show.. Just wished it was a bit longer. Setlist.fm says Slash played a piece of Fall to Pieces after Patience but I didn't notice that.
  17. There is and they were done with PC at 22:17... The Curfew is 10:30.. They could have played another song or two.
  18. I respect your opinion but I don't think Hardschool would have done any better recepted if it was a Brand New song.. The song is what it is.. Great to some I guess and pretty cheesy to others.. It sounds like it could be on a Saved by the Bell soundtrack. These songs didn't catch on 2 years later still no one at the shows know them. They don't get any Radio/Sirius play... It is just a shame that in 7 years all they can do is realese 4 CD leftovers.. Not even one original song... These songs are something they could have put their session tracks over and released in a week and then moved on to bigger and beytter things.. I think they have killed the general public's appetite for new music to the point that if they actually ever were to release new music, there wouldn't be much hype..
  19. Maybe. But the the people in the seats pay alot of money to see them.. Absurd is still the most logical choice to drop. Either way they Play 25+ songs . Need some piss breaks but I was just really looking forward to PTU.. That said, I am looking forward to Reckless Life,, Bad Obsession, Anything Goes and Dowen on the Farm more!
  20. After a second listen it is better than Absurd and Hardschool but those were terrible.. I just can't get excited about these Frankenstein songs.. Using tracks from all different lineups and decades.. Utilizing Slash as a session guy... Also bummed they dropped Pretty Tied Up for this as I am going to see them Monday and was pretty pumped to see that.. Absurd was a novelty that almost no one likes.. Why not drop that???
