  1. Funny how this isn't the first time it was said they don't use a set list, but we see photos of them on every tour. Maybe he meant to say they don't always follow the set list.
  2. What exactly did Fortus say? I've heard others mention this but curious on the actual quote.
  3. I feel like they could have condensed it into fewer episodes, and even so, it was like watching a long movie that failed to deliver a great climax/conclusion. There were a few cool sequences, but unless it was build up to an amazing season 2 of it, I feel it was underwhelming overall.
  4. Best case, and my hope is the remaining CD era songs are left alone and released as they were from that time. I can imagine an album with half a dozen or more CD era songs, and the remaining tracks are actual new songs, mixed and mastered right, could still be a cohesive record. I'm sure they have at least a few songs that Slash wouldn't fit well at all, that they still want out. (Like Bucket heavy songs) I can't imagine Slash doing a song like Shackler's Revenge, or Scraped justice. I would imagine Axl recorded vocals for at least a few more of the Bucket instrumentals we got from the Village leaks.
  5. It has been brought up, the general consensus is that it is Robin's playing. Not only does it sound exactly like his from the Village rough mix, if Slash played those notes, I feel like they would have comped/blended it better with what he played. I feel they would have done the same with Richard, had he played it. I imagine it would be weird to ask Richard to play a 2 second solo before Slash's anyways. The 2000 mix is the only other version we have apart from the official, at least that leaked anyway. I'll admit I didn't think highly of the song as a whole initially, it grew on me.
  6. I think most would agree Josh and Brain are the best GN'R drummers from a technical standpoint. Josh played on most of the Village leaks, and on the officially released Oh My God, and on half of the SCOM song from Big Daddy. But as far as "fitting" GN'R, that's up for debate, and is subjective of course. Josh can play anything he wants, as can Brain, same with Buckethead. They are not limited. Josh initially came up with a lot of what we hear on Chinese, even through we mostly hear Brain on that record.
  7. I feel like Robin's solo was significantly more intense. He plays the initial high note again, which to me was the climax of the song, at least the 2000 mix. Now, the climax is me imagining Robin's solo during Slash's solo.
  8. Josh and Brain. Then Matt. Frank is fun to make fun of, but his work on If The World elevated that song, IMO.
  9. I'm waiting for them all to come out, then I'll binge them. So far my favorite series is Obi-Wan. Then Mando (mostly season 2) Boba Fett was fun, I found Andor to be boring, mostly.
  10. I wonder why they didn't have Slash play the first two seconds of Robin's solo verbatim then play his solo. I feel like they should have either done that, or used Robin's solo entirely, then extended the song by ten or so seconds with a Slash solo, sort of like how they did TWAT or CD with Robin and Buckethead, and Quick Song. I love that Robin is on this song, but the transition to Slash's solo is noticeable.
  11. Probably the most honest, real thing any GN'R member has ever said.
  12. If Duff and Slash are busy with their solo projects in 2024, perhaps Axl and/or TB can convince Buckethead and Robin Finck to step in in the meantime?
  13. Tag for later. Years ago, didn't Axl say they wouldn't have released the song if they didn't have permission to use the MLK bit?
  14. Adding Slash and Duff does not necessarily mean they will remove all of Bucket's parts, though it is possible. I agree it would be better suited for a bonus on a special CD release, and less work for the band as well.
  15. I think it would be best released as a bonus, or "hidden" (unlisted) final track on an album or an EP. I forgot another name: "Oh My Buckethead" I believe some old hoarder claimed to have it, and called it that.
  16. We know there is a potential for a reworked Oh My God to be released eventually, as the song had been worked on subsequent to its official release in 1999 on the End Of Days sound track, as evident with the 2018 (or so) leak with Bumblefoot and Buckethead on the song, and Axl's chat about it in 2008, and the leaked CD2 song list from 2008 including "OMG2" which may or may not have been what Axl was referring to, as Axl's description of the remix doesn't fit the leak. So it's possible the band had been working on more than one different reworked version of the track. Unlike Silkworms, which was released as Absurd, Oh My God has actually been released officially of course, and not just played live as Silkworms was. So, OMG is in a somewhat unique position. If it gets an eventual re-release, do you think it will keep the same name, or should it be changed? Years ago, I recall someone mention Spiders as a good title. If part of the lyrics inspire a new name, I think Bury It Deeper would be a cool title, and somewhat fitting for that song.
  17. I agree the re-worked song sounds more like the classic GN'R, I just felt it would have been better if they had attempted to improve upon what was already there, instead of trying to get it to sound like it came from the Illusions or earlier.
  18. Soulless is a good way to describe it. The neutered drums, portly mixed vocals and mostly uninspired replacement guitars. I do like Slash’s second part of his solo, if that’s what you’re referring to. I wish they kept the song as it was and just added that part and mixed it properly.
  19. In an effort to get this thread back on topic, I hope an eventual new album doesn't include Hard Skool as it was in 2021, that mix is atrocious. Absurd seems a bit better, Perhaps, significantly better. I expect the same for The General. If they are replacing most of Bucket and Robin's work, which has been evident thus far, they could at the very least mix them better than the "rough mixes" from the Village CDs... Speaking of CDs, I hope the new album is available on both CD, and audio cassette. I expect it to be on vinyl.
