  1. Yeah, I think we should take that as the baseline assumption and just be happily surprised it we are wrong
  2. Whether you like the new CD era songs is of course entirely subjective. I am happy we are getting them, AND Duff's new music, AND Slash's blues album. As for whether it is "disrespectful" to Slash and the current band, nah Slash and Duff likely didn't rejoin GN'R to release more music, it was just for the money. They have other venues to be creative and release their own music. And if they don't want to be part of releasing new Guns N' Roses songs from the CD era they are of course allowed to not be part of it. That's their decision. They have decided they want to be part of it. So don't extrapolate your frustration onto them.
  3. Yes, I'd love Les less if Arsenal fucks this up.
  4. Think you're going to toss it away at the very end as usual? I believe in you, fuck City and Pool.
  5. Oh, that was a nice surprise. How you been? Happy with Arsenal, these days? You needed a bloody Viking on your team.
  6. No one here is claiming Axl is god or that we are suckers for wanting him to share his art. You are just lashing out after being told that the whining is embarrassing.
  7. I had no idea I tended to get involved whenever someone disagrees with @Rovim. That was a pattern I was not aware of. Pretty cool, though, I can live with that. And yes, Axl and Guns ARE free to do whatever they want. I wouldn't want the alternative where artists HAD to create and release music after some arbitrary schedule rather than when they felt ready. I am happy you agree with this. If you don't like people arguing with you then maybe a public discussion board is not the place for you? This is kind of designed for discussions, even arguments.
  8. I don't agree that I constantly push my opinions. I share my opinions now and then. The majority doesn't whine and complain, I am no more superior than this majority.
  9. But most people aren't complaining about things they don't like. Encountering things you don't like is part of life, it is part of the human condition. Most people take that on their chins. They have learnt since childhood that whining gets you nowhere. They have learnt to focus on the positives and not the negatives that can't be controlled or affected by complaining. It is purely a coping mechanism for misadjusted people who can't deal with their emotions more constructively.
  10. No. Most people aren't. Besides, this discussion isn't about sharing one's opinion on new music. Of course we expect people to do that, whether it is positive or negative,, this discussion is about people who can't get over their disappointment with the band.
  11. Oh, I think people are absolutely frustrated by the band No, I am not frustrated by people whining and complaining. I like pointing it out, though.
  12. No, I can't bear it either way . I mean, he has a great voice, range and power and all, it's the "twang" (in lack of a better word), the forced squealing, that I can't take. Axl barely managed to get away with it himself (many people felt he didn't and his voice was polarizing from the very beginning) but at least with Axl it comes across as genuine and raw and he added masking to sort-of hide the squealing much better than this guy.
  13. The problem to begin with is that they are frustrated. They ought to feel a bit embarrassed about themselves for still not getting over the fact that Guns N' Roses doesn't release music frequently. I mean, how many years of frustration does it take for people to wise up and stop being frustrated over something that they can't affect the slightest? Like getting frustrated over a intrinsic part of nature. Are they frustrated over humans not having wings, too? "Aaaargh, why can't we have wing, I want to flyyyyyy!" I have no sympathy for fans of this band who has been around for a while and still hasn't taken to heart that GN'R in many ways do not operate as a normal band and if they keep expecting it to operate as a normal band they will keep getting disappointed. Complaining to one's spouse because a rock band doesn't release enough music is grounds for divorce immediately...
  14. Interesting to see the acoustic arrangement. But the vocals put me off, when people imitate Axl, and it clearly comes off as imitation, it usually becoming hard for me to listen to it, it quickly falls on the wrong side of the awesome/cringe division. That being said, the singer is clearly talented with a great range.
  15. There is a huge, and undisputed, quantitative difference. What are you talking about? Was this even meant as a reply to me?
  16. Well, there is a connotation to "leftover" suggesting that it is what remains when the best has been used, which doesn't automatically apply to the unreleased songs from the Chinese Democracy sessions. People who don't like the songs will tend to use that expression because of this connotation. Similarly to saying that November Rain and Don't Cry were leftovers from Appetite. Most people wouldn't use that term to describe those songs.
  17. You hit the nail on the head. Things are going exactly according to the plan as suggested by Slash: Release old material that has been reworked, piecemeal, and then possibly combine it in an album. The fact that this takes an inordinate amount of time shouldn't come as a surprise to any of us. And people who confuse the long time with the band having changed their goals, clearly don't understand this band at all.
  18. That's a fundamental difference between Slash and Axl. Axl abhors certain publicity and would pay to not have to do certain things. Slash doesn't have that limitation, he has always been willing to do stuff, play with people, etc, if it helps his brand recognition.
  19. Yes, because Axl would surely do something like this if he had a different team around him. It's the team, not Axl. Yes, sure.
  20. I am not that excited about the blues album. It's a bit too rock and roll. I prefer my blues to be more bluesy and less rocky. But that's based entirely off the single and hopefully the other songs will be more pure blues renditions of the songs. As for SMKC - I couldn't care less. If he has the capacity to keep on doing that, then go for it. And although I would have preferred the rest of the Chinese Democracy material to come out with its original musicians instead of with Slash and Duff, I have thoroughly enjoyed what we have got so far. I mean, beggars can't be choosers. I don't see how Slash recording over unreleased GN'R songs is going to hamper his ability to do other projects, so it is all good in my book.
