  1. I’d be surprised if Guns hit the stage anytime before 7:30PM. Also since they’re where The Spaghetti Incident happened, I think it’d be cool if they played a song from it. My pick would be the following (impressive amount of views for what is kind of a forgotten GNR cover): https://youtu.be/IYOYlqOitDA?si=WWc7L649767KUItU or if they really wanted to have fun:
  2. Yeah, I just read that he apparently picked that song after hearing multiple works in progress. Maybe there wasn’t much to pick from and I can see how attaching a song to another Arnold film would seem like a smart idea, but the following is what you’re reintroducing yourself to the world with… The song was primarily written by Paul Tobiasaround 1997.[4] Dizzy Reed wrote the hook of the chorus.[4] Rose claimed that former members Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum'failed to see the potential' of the song and had no interest in recording or playing the piece.[4]Sean Riggs, Reed's roommate and occasional fill-in GNR studio drummer, assisted in writing the song.
  3. Whose idea was it to include Oh My God on the End of Days soundtrack? I’m sure that song probably did little to make the label feel good about investing in Axl’s “vision” of GNR after Slash/Duff left.
  4. Yeah, I wonder if Axl actually presented it to the label in a “I’m basically done” way. I’m sure the band felt that way, but not sure on Axl’s end. I could then see Axl/management blaming the record label for things (Baker coming in for one) that Axl actually requested.
  5. I don’t really get the below quote. Jimmy has famously said he doesn’t think music executives should be involved in the process of creating the music. He intentionally keeps them (and himself once he got to that level) out of the studio. Why would Axl expect him to be involved? It just sounds like an excuse as Axl was lost and didn’t have any obvious hit singles to propel the album. Better was probably written to alleviate this issue but they bungled that as well. I’m sure he deluded himself and others into blaming the big bad record label but I bet it was mostly his inept leadership. My summation of the whole thing is that Interscope, when they took over Geffen, really led Axl to believe that Jimmy Iovine would be involved, and would help get this record done and make it happen. But basically what he did was let it completely fall apart. Then he had this great idea to bring in [producer] Roy Thomas Baker to make it sound better. All hedid was re-record everything three or four different times, trying to make it sound like something it didn’t need to sound like, and spend $10 million in the process. My two cents on the whole thing is that I really think Jimmy Iovine fucked the whole thing up.
  6. Well he had to literally pay people to sit around in expensive studios for years working on things to send him and/or for the muse to hit himself. There’s a lot of upfront costs as well when you’re the only person left with any equity on a project. Everyone else has a salary for their time.
  7. I don’t think those are actual subject lines of the emails. He’s summarizing the contents of the email with his own caption.
  8. Well that and he helped Jimmy become a billionaire with Beats.
  9. Oh that’s a tough one. Set Me Free would be a good energy song live, but it would be epic if Axl could pull off Loving The Alien so I’d probably go with that. Kinda crazy how Contraband was almost 20 years ago now. Was a cool time.
  10. Or maybe he was told that a new GNR album is coming. Obviously he would also have inside info on an Aerosmith album as well seeing as how he’s in a band with Joe Perry.
  11. If he’s there singing then that is obviously unusual. Fuck it, new song every week!
  12. Nah, I’d like to hear Axl try it. Slash does CD songs and Axl does one of his from outside of Guns. I think they should just switch it up from time to time. They’ve done Slither enough. I want Axl to sing a Slash song that he sings better. His approach to Slither is wrong imo.
  13. Why as Duff’s track? I’d like to hear Axl sing it. Maybe he can sing that one correctly.
  14. (1) Subject to subsection (J)(2), the Cubs may schedule Events at Wrigley Field in compliance with this Agreement and section 4-156-430 ofthe Municipal Code: however, non- sporting Events must end no later than 11:00 p.m.
  15. Sounds like you’re looking at resale tickets. I just looked on the MLB website and pit tickets are available for $345. Floor seats behind the pit are in the $160 range.
  16. Obviously it would at least be delayed. You don’t want 25,000 people outside when it’s lightning.
  17. Instrumentally, does rain typically make an impact on playing or is it not that big of a deal?
