you can note ron was really pissed off at the end of this clip... btw, imo axl didn't sound well at all

Looks like he's sayin "Sorry about the time". I think Axl sounds great.

Watching it again a few times, I think this is the correct answer.

I agree. And coupled with the fact that them coming on late wasn't actually Axl's fault, I could hardly see why anybody would think bbf is pissed off at him.

Besides- bbf has played probably over 100 gigs with Guns now. He surely knows by now that Axl has a habit of coming on late. I just don't see why he would suddenly get annoyed by this. I think this is a case of Guns fans don't really have too much to discuss so we'll invent things which aren't really there.

To me, like another poster mentioned, Bumblefoot's reaction with pointing to his watch seems more like he was addressing someone in the crowd. Right before his guitar solo is an odd time to apologize for the wait, it'd make more sense between a song or something, or a part where he isn't playing. Somebody was probably heckling him by making a similar gesture, and he responded by pointing and shrugging his shoulders in response as if saying "there's nothing I can do". Had it not been somebody heckling him, I'm sure he would have chosen another moment to point to his wrist as an apology. At this point I think all of us (myself included) may be reading too much into this. It could be nothing for all we know, as we cannot see the crowd in that shot. As for him leaving the stage, I'll be anxious to see with his upcoming radio interview if he discusses the reasons as to why.

I can't be bothered to read through the thread, but did he just not play those songs, or did he play but offstage? Seems really weird for Ron, who always wants to give the fans his best.

So Bumblefoot was supposedly pissed during Jungle because he made a gesture asking what time it was, or something about time?

Okay...

Dont know if a similar review was posted, but here ya go.

My dad and I got there at the end of rev theory. The place wasnt close to half full. We got up pretty close for AIC and kept our spots for GNR. AIC got off around 11:10 i think. The stage was ready at about 11:40 for GNR. Around midnight we could see Ron walking around the left side of the stage with his guitar. About ten minutes later he was poking his head out making hand signs that he was sorry and and he loved us. The crowd was getting restless and a ton of people started leaving around 12:30. We actually had a crazy group of about 8 people that we were going nuts for GNR at mindnight, but got tired of waiting and just left before the show started. People were throwing water bottles and full cans of beer on the stage, one actually about hit Ron when he was waiting on the left side of the stage. They were booing and chanting bullshit during the whole wait, i thought a riot was going to start.

They finally came on a little before 1 i think. It was ridiculous how quiet it was during the opener. There was a steady stream of people leaving during the concert. Of course..it was late, people had already been drinking and riding their bikes all day.

As for Ron... I really like the guy. He was obviously pissed at Axl, or whoever delayed the start of the show. I think it was during the middle of sorry he just walked off stage and didnt return for about 5 songs. If you look at the setlist, that will prove he was not on stage, because those are all DJ based guitar songs (or he played all the solos). When he returned, he just stood their and played his parts with no emotion. I dont blame the guy for being pissed. Over half the people that were there at the start, left nearly halfway through the show. He avoided Axl at all costs when on stage and would occasionally point at his watch and shrug his shoulders in disgust.

When Sweet Child came on, the crowd that was left livened up a bit. Then after that was over, a ton more people left. I was about 30 feet from the stage and then after sweet child i stepped on the beer vendors cooler to see how many people were left. Barely no one. It looked like a county fair concert that was staring Winger or something. It was pretty pathetic.

Now I am not trying to bash the band here, this is an honest personal review from what I saw. The band was awesome, and Axl sang like crazy. The only technical issues I heard was Frank's drumming was very mediocre. The bass at the venue was very loud and you could here when Frank messed up very clearly.

I know a lot of people that live in the Sturgis area and they said they heard RUMORS, that GNR was putting up a fuss about playing at Rock N Rev instead of the Blue (or Buffalo) Chip Casino Campground across the street. During GNR, Scorpions were playing at the Blue Chip, or buffalo chip, whatever its called. So take that how you want it.

IMO Axl needs to get off his high horse and start catering to his fans. I know he lost a lot of fans that night, one being my Dad. My dad was an old gnr fan from the late 80's, and he said he couldnt believe how great the band was, but cannot believe that Axl acts like a retarded rockstar with an ego that will get his ass kicked. But, hey we know thats how he is. I lost a lot of respect for the guy Friday night and won't waste my time seeing HIM again unless theres a reunion.

But...whoever has the chance to see how great Ron, DJ, Dizzy, and Tommy are, go for it....those guys rocked!

Scorpions are doing their farewell tour, so some people prob. wanted to catch that over GNR.

You get to be a certain age and waiting for hours for the headliner to start just makes you want to call it a night. The fans don't have that kind of stamina and patience when they get older. If there's a reason why GNR ticket sales would be less than full capacity, part of it has to do with people not into playing the waiting game at the shows. But for the people who expect it, they get their nap time in ahead of time and good to go for the concert.

Axl's not going to cater to his fans unless they wrote a million dollar check for a private party and part of the deal was to play requests the entire night. Paul Allen has that kind of money to throw a barbecue and have GNR play his backyard. So does Bob Barker - who paid 5 million out of pocket for those Whale Wars boats. Who would've thought game shows rake in serious money for game show hosts?

Ok ! I have just wacted WTJ video. My opinion is that BBF was angry at the sound guy because his was not able to listeting his guitar at that point (near the solo).

ABSOLUTELY THIS. BBF starts his solo and you can't hear him. He points at his watch to tell the fucking sound guy to pay attention to the time, and after that you can here his solo. I can't believe all of you fucktwats are making something so simple into a giant drama. Chill the fuck out. :fuckyou: :fuckyou: :fuckyou:

The Axl haters crack me up. In 2011, axl could cure cancer, find Bin Laden, solve world hunger, end all wars....while putting out an album that sold 20 million copies and prduced 10 number one singles, slash could say it was the best album that he has ever heard......and the haters would still find something to bitch and moan about.

.

We get it. You hate Axl. And you take personal offense to everything he does. Great. Now go away. Go support a singer and band that you actually like and enjoy.

Out of all of those, I would take a new album.

What annoys me about all this, is even if it wasn't Axl's fault this time that the band went on late, this has been happening for way too long, and people are just fed up of it now. Every other band in the world manages to honour their contracts and get on stage on time the majority of the time. With GNR you never know what time they're gonna take the stage, whether they'll turn up at all, or whether the tour is gonna be cancelled after you've already bought your tickets.

Now, I am a huge GNR fan and will continue to go and see them live and will take my chances, but I can completely understand why so many people get easily annoyed at them, or don't bother going to see them at all. GNR doesn't show any kind of loyalty or respect to its fans, and whenever something goes wrong, as is usually the case, it's always someones elses fault, they don't take any responsibility for anything.

Totally agree with this, he starts in with some licks, can't hear the guitar in the monitor he's standing in front of and gives the sound-guy a heads-up...my opinion.

you really should rephrase this statement "GNR doesn't show any kind of loyalty or respect to its fans, and whenever something goes wrong, as is usually the case, it's always someones elses fault, they don't take any responsibility for anything." and replace GNR w/ Axl, because it seems the other band members/hired hands do show the fans respect but this story is very old and tired, as everyone knows Axl doesn't like to take the stage till after midnight; when I went to see them in NYC in 2006; I didn't even show up to the Hammerstein and MSG till after 10:30pm and had a minimal wait for them to come on :rofl-lol:

Yes you're quite right - i'm sure if GNR had another singer these problems wouldn't occur. Both the current and old members of the band have always been repectful to the fans. Axl is the main reason why people are still interested in Guns N Roses and ultimately he will be/is the one responsible for their demise.

By the way, I was also at the Hammerstein gig, flew out from Wales for it. I was at the gig early and waited at least 5 or six hours until they took the stage. More fool me.....

Axl could have got away with "this shit" if he didn't sound as shit as he did.

Granted I've only heard jungle but fuck me that was bad.

"it was the shitty quality of the recording and youtube...."

Of course it was....

Maybe reading too much into some things, but I see this as evidence that the equipment was not the problem here...

Someone posted this on Ron's Facebook:

Hi Ron! :)

I know that you said that we need to wait 48 hours but it's too hard. Are you still in the band? because there are rumors that says you left the band... please tell me that it isn't true.

And Bumblefoot's response:

Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. No divorce, just a lover's spat.

To me sounds like there is tension between him and Axl, but again I could be reading too much into things now. Wouldn't have to if they'd just give us a damn update!!!

One day Axl's gotta realize that this isn't 1992 and he isn't the biggest rock star in the world anymore. He could kind of get away with this shit twenty years ago when his fan base was young, but the fans are getting older and many people simply don't want to wait around until after midnight for a concert to start when they have to get home to the kids, go to work the next day, or take care of other responsibilities that they wouldn't have had twenty years ago. When I saw them in '06 they came on at midnight and more than half of the crowd had left by the end of the show. I can't blame BBF if he is pissed. He's a professional and seems to really care about the fans. How many guitarists is Axl going to lose before he gets his shit together?

Correct. I saw them in Worcester in '06 - he went on around 11:40, and there were probably 7500 people there. It was really sad.

We just give it a couple of days I guess.

I'm under no illusions about getting clarification from Axl, but the other members tweets (or lack of) should give us a better idea of where theyre at.

As for DJ, wasnt he going to go spend time with his kids? At least, that's what he said on FB the other day.

As for the BBF situation, I think he's right to feel aggrieved, though I think he's missed the point on this one.

These fans he cares about so much (and I'm sure that's true), does he think that after the 2 hour wait, what they really want to see is a band member have a hissy fit and leave the stage for a few songs?

If BBF just gets over it, shows some unity and gives the fans the best show they could ask for, then thats compensation enough for the wait IMO. He made the situation far worse than it would of been.

BBF's negativity was present before Sturgis, I don't think there can be much doubt about that.

Until we know what happened then I guess it's hard to say if BBF was right or wrong to behave the way he did.

The late start time and BBF's negativity or disappearance for some songs could be be completely unrelated.

As you you said the negative attitude seemed to come from his interviews way before this late start time.

If we believe everything we've read there were technical problems at the gig.

BBF might have been pissed because his guitar wasn't working properly and he had to leave the stage to fix something.

He also seems the type of guy to give the best show to the fans that he possibly can.

Anyway BBF has the right to be pissed at Axl if he WAS to blame for the late start and then show up and sound as terrible as he did.
