Paying for the forum isn't the best feature...but previews and prelistenings are ok....and hopefully will be realized.

If I had any confidence that the membership would include things of actual value like live streams, track previews etc etc then I'd be willing to give it a try maybe but nothing about this band at this stage gives me that impression. If that changes in a month or two I might consider it but don't forget that the site itself was promised a few months ago and has only just gone live. At the moment the only good thing would be the access to presales but none of the shows sell out so that's a bit pointless really.

The forum should be abstract from the fan club, in other words a public, free facility. I think access to forum is part of the package because there are few other worthwhile features to offer at this current time.

I hope the camp revise this and move to make the forum a free concept, otherwise I can't see it garnering much activity when there are other viable alternatives out there to express one's opinions regarding GN'R. I think most would find it difficult not to pay up however if members were seen to engage in regular debate with the fans via the forum, particularly Axl (who in the past has availed of more official platforms like gnronline).

Why would you want that?

I think there'd be better opportunities to engage with GN'R, think Axl would be more comfortable with the idea of engaging in a more domestic forum. I also believe the fans' sentiments would be more direct in terms of camp reception.

Furthermore, I'd be more comfortable in the agenda of an official GN'R forum i.e. rather than certain forums which operate for cash, or adopt a specific policy, like Jarmo's totalitarianism and censorship or Sladdi's site's hipster "too cool for Guns N' Roses" attitude or other figures on ego trips of possessing power

They charge $35 a year for nearly an identical package. So with GnR being a much bigger band $50 or $30 whichever you go for, isn't that bad. And who's to say stuff won't get added in the future? Ie, possessing membership giving you access to meet and greets at any gig you attend and so on.

Metallica is a HUGE name (nobody cares if you like their music or not. That's not the point) and they're charging $55 BUT they offer a hell of a lot more and their forums are free.

And that differs from HTGTH how, besides HTGTH being free? Besides, there are other boards that cater to fans of any incarnation, while accepting both positive and negative discussions, without allowing all the trolling that we see here at mygnrforum.
