I listen to this record all the time, as I do all solo projects from former Gn'R members. (I've been spinning Apocalyptic Love a TON lately.)

Anyway, I've been listening to CD almost daily since the day it released.

Chinese Democracy 10 (It's one of the best rockers on the record. That opening growl? Axl IS back.)

Shackler's Revenge 7 (Great opening riff, cool singing voice, nice coda)

Better 10 (The verses sound like vintage Guns N' Roses to me. This song had hit single written all over it. Don't know what happened.)

Street of Dreams 10 (I absolutely adore this song, but it had to grow on me. 3:35 to the end. Wow. )

If the World 5 (Sort of just there for me. I usually let it play when it comes on but don't go to it.)

There Was a Time 10 (I love the lyrics to this song. I love everything about it. It's almost like two different songs.)

Catcher in the Rye 8 (I like this song quite a bit, but it gets a little messy with the layered instruments. I wish it could have been stripped down.)

Scraped 7 (The dueling Axl voices are really cool.)

Riad n' the Bedouins 7 (Another grower. Not many seem to enjoy this song, but it's so angry.)

Sorry 7 (Cool song. It's different from everything else.)

IRS 8 (2:40 to 3:03 is my favorite part. This song goes between soft and melodic to angry. Good stuff.)

Madagascar 5 (It's a little boring to me, but I heard it live a couple times and it's been stellar. Don't know why that didn't carry over?)

This I Love 8 (It gets criticized a lot, but I like it. I can see the hate. Sounds a little theatric.)

Prostitute 8 (The best way to end this record. Cool lyrics.)

People tend to combine the Illusions, but they are different albums.

I really hope Axl puts out a couple more albums. The rock world needs more music with his voice.

Chinese Democracy 8/10 Really dig the intro, good song

Shackler's Revenge 5/10 Never got the fuss about this song. Don't like the industrial sound.

Better 5,5/10 It's a decent song, but somehow I got bored with it before CD even came out.

Street of Dreams 6,5/10 Would be 8,5/10 in it's original The Blues 2002 form. Shame they took so much power out of it, especially the intro.

If the world 7,5/10 Suprisingly decent track!

There was a time 7/10 While good and epic, still somehow a bit of a hard track to listen to all the way through. It seems...heavy.

Which brings me to an average of 6,5 per track (total divided by 14).

I suppose I'd rate CD as an album somewhere from 6 to 6,5'ish. It's a bit overproduced, not very consistent and most of all it just seems long and bloated as a whole. Has some good tunes on it, but it could be much better. They really dropped the ball on a few tracks too.
