I'm not sure if he "owns all".........but he did get award as the Guitar Hero of Las Vegas by a magazine based out of Las Vegas.

Last year they named Steve Stevens as the Guitar Hero.

Vince Neil and David Coverdale got the Career Achievement awards the last two years.

Other award winners and presenters include Ron Jeremy, members of Enuff Z Nuff, Flava Flav, Lita Ford and Dee Snider!

They have a category for Best Vegas Rock Tribute Band, but I didn't catch who won that award this year.

What do you mean? Try too hard presenting facts without bias?

My entire post was based on information taken directly from the magazine......so how are presenting facts a sign of me trying too hard?

I thought you guys would be glad to have more information about GnR members. Where is the thanks for trying to help you out?

My post had no insults or personal attacks.

Are you upset because I didn't list all the winners? The majority of their awards went to local Vegas based bands. The magazine is purely based on one city. I have never heard of any of the bands that paid the entry fee and ended up winning. So I didn't list them.

I wasnt joking about the award for Best Vegas Rock Tribute Band. The story didn't say who won this year.

But it was cool to see respected music icons like flava flav and Ron Jeremy represented.

Anyway, not sure what your post meant. I was trying to be nice.

You took the time to find this information, which is a bit much imho.

And I know that some of the Axl fans do the same thing when it comes to Slash, it's rather pathetic sometimes.

Really?

You might not have heard, but the internet has these cool things called "search engines".......these "search engines" make it very easy to search for information. You just go to one of them - say google or yahoo or bing - and you type in a topic you'd like to see more information on. Within seconds, thousands of pages will usually pop up. These pages all have information related to the topic you typed in. It really makes finding information easy. You should check it out sometime!!! (That was said with a smile, not trying to be a smart ass).

Why is checking out the actual event a "bit much"? People are praising DJ for this Guitar Hero award......why is seeing who else were honored with awards a "bit much"? You weren't at all curious as to who else was honored that night?

I'm not trying to argue with you, I really am just curious as to why you find this "pathetic." Spending a few minutes searching the Net for information, on a topic that a lot of people on this forum are interested in. Pathetic?

I just listened to Jealous Guy by John Lennon today, first time in about a year. A great, great, great song. Lennon is the Man - imo. I wasn't sure of this history of the song, so I searched it out on Google to see what the background was. Then, I went to the LA Times and checked out the sport section, to see what the local writers are saying about the Dodgers collapse. Later, before going home after work, I'm gonna look up "new DVD" releases" and see what movies came out today, to determine if I want to rent a movie tonight.

Are all those acts pathetic?

Well, there aren't many 'guitar heros' out there at the moment. Rock isn't exactly the most popular genre anymore :(

And even fewer living in Las Vegas and being a great promoter of Vegas.

Besides, Dj is like the living personification of a casino.

When we aren't arguing, I love your posts.

I just noticed he wears two different coloured shoes, Ace Frehley style.

Of course Ace Frehley wore two different coloured shoes to the (what became KISS) audition by accident, not as a fashion statement.

Anyways, he really bugs me in GNR but I can't fault him for the speech- he stopped short of saying he wasn't deserving I think but to me his opening statement kind of indicated that he wasn't expecting to win.
