VERY IMPORTANT POLL, VOTE GNR!

We all know GNR and only GNR is the best rock3 , GNR already won the Rolling stones, Led Zeppelin, Now they're facing off with the Beatles! Right now the race is close, GNR slightly Leading!

This poll could be very significant

Yes the band that layed down the groundwork for every rock band after them (including GNR) is "overated hype" lol.

I understand that since this is a GNR forum one would be predisposed to liking GNR more, but c'mon...

BEATLES LAY THE GROUNDWORK FOR GNR? GNR HAVE LITTLE TO NOTHING IN COMMON WITH THE BEATLES. THE BEATLES ONLY GIVEN CREDIT OF INFLUENCING AROUND 80% OF THE BANDS AFTER THEM (HIGHLY DOUBTFUL). THAT EXPLAINS WHY THE BEATLES ARE NEVER MENTIONED AS AN INSPIRATION TO ANY OF THE GNR MEMBERS. THANK HEAVENS!

So by that logic you definitely would not see any GNR members covering any Beatle's tunes whatsoever right? You know, like this:

But if you honesly can't see how the Beatles influenced rock and therefore have influenced GNR there is no hope

On a side note, how is this poll "very important"?

COVERING A SONG, AND ACTUALLY BEING INFLUENCED ARE TOO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS, NICE TRY

Yeah because all of the covers they have done is not because they like the songs and therefore were artistcally INFLUECED by it enough to cover it

C'mon...

ABSOLUTELY. COVERING DOESN'T EVEN PROVE THEY LIKE THE SONG, BUT IF THEY DID LIKE A SONG OF THE BEATLES, THE BEATLES THEMSELVES STILL WEREN'T ENOUGH TO INSPIRE THEM. TOTALLY DIFFERENT SUBJECTS, AND OBVIOUS BY THEIR STYLES

Check out this quote from Slash:

“Like everybody else from my generation, I was raised on The Beatles,” said former Guns ’N Roses guitarist Slash, 44. “To this day, it’s mind-blowing to think how important the music of The Beatles was, from their inception to the present, and how many of their songs are international standards. This was a band that changed the world completely.”

Do they win a free record deal if they win the poll?

More headlining concerts, tour sponsorship, selling more GNR catalogs, etc.

Nothing to lose, win or lose just have fun.

If GNR wins, millions of the new generation will discover that Slash and the classic line-up were once the Biggest Band in the world.

So Slash is saying he was raised on the Beatles, so they were much talked about. But he still hasn't said they inspired him. And its proven in Slash's music. Example, if born in the 80's, you could say you were raised on Madonna. That doesn't mean she inspired you.

So you are saying that even though there are multiple videos of Slash playing Beatles tunes, and an interview where Slash says that he was raised on The Beatles (and when you are exposed to music as a young impressionable music listener - especially the music you were "raised on" it makes it's way into your mind and shapes your musical mindset regardless) and that they changed the world completely - that he was not influenced by the Beatles at all? Seriously?

And still you posted that the Beatles are "overrated hype" - which I cannot see any logic behind
