GN'R's best and worst songs (lyrically)?

What songs would you say have the best lyrics in GN'R's catalogue, and which songs have the worst?

For example, I'd say:

Coma

Estranged

Breakdown

Civil War

SCOM

Don't Damn Me

Have among the best lyrics in GN'R's catalogue

On the other hand, I'd say

Shotgun Blues

Sorry

IRS

Get in the Ring

Anything Goes

Have among the worst lyrics in GN'R's history

If GNR had never released Shotgun Blues, and Axl released it today, this forum would be acting like their savior returned. GNR would be hot as hell. Cant believe that song gets so much shit. Of course, the topic is lyrics. Lyrics are secondary to me. Music is first about sound.

Good point. I think Shotgun Blues isn't percieved as a quality GNR track because the illusions albums had so many other instant classics.

Worst: Besides Scraped and Sorry.

SCOM (the lyrics are way to elementary........very cheesy.)

Think About You.

Best: Coma

Mr. Brownstone

Locomotive (You know I like to shave your head and all my friends can paint it red) I LOVE THAT!!!

Civil War

This list can go on.

-OMG

Honorable mentions: Civil war, dead horse, estranged, don't cry (alt)

Worst (my top 5, no order)

-Shotgun blues

-ITW

-Riad

-Sorry

That doesn't mean they're bad songs, however. Riad and IRS are both songs I really like.

I don't know why Anything Goes gets such a bad rap. Was one of my favorites when I first heard Appitite back in 87. Still is.

Panties 'round your knees

With your ass in debris

Doin' dat grind with a push and squeeze

Tied up, tied down, up against the wall

Be my rubbermade baby

An' we can do it all

What could be any better than that?

Best:

Coma

Breakdown

Catcher

Estranged

Jungle

Sorry

This I Love

IRS

Don't Cry Original

Rhiad

CD is overall a little disapointing lyricwise.

Strange because he had sooo much time to come up with good lyrics.

But he is miles away from Illusionsstuff like Coma, Breakdown, Don´t Damn Me

I mean the lyrics are THE weakpoint of CD. I wonder why this hasn't been discussed very often.
