Flayer
Scraped & Rhiad....and CD....embarrassing. Oh and Madagascar.Scraped is is one of my favorites, but I'll actually echo one of your unpopular choices...I don't hate it but I've always thought Madagascar is overrated. T.wa.T
Shotgun Blues and Get in the Ring, although lately I can see why Axl sang this one. There aren't that many bad GnR songs. Why can you see why Axl wrote Get In The Ring?As a mature 51-year-old today, I'd think he might be a little embarrassed by that song. The reason I said lately was because of my personal views of the media in recent times, not necessarily Axls. Although I'd bet he still holds a grudge to most if not everyone mentioned in the song. Could add a few to, lol.I thought the song was immature of them back then and not needed. They took the bait, so to speak. They had already done LIES and the cover of it was a perfect responce to the backlash they were getting from Appetite. To me, Get in the Ring, sounds like a Budwieser commercial with real cheesy lyrics.

TombRaider
Never got the hate for Don't Cry Alt Lyrics, which lyric-wise is superior to the original version imo, or for So Fine, which I consider to be a nice little ballad… but there´s no accounting for taste. Anyway, the worst GnR original song for me would probably be Bad Obsession. I've never really liked it. Don't know why. Mr. Dude
Breakdown is definitely in my top 3-4 favorite from the Illusions. I think its perhaps the most definitive song of that era. Love the lyrics, love the arrangement, the self-consciousness. Kind of glad they never played it live- always thought of it as one of those stand-alone relics. Amish
Breakdown is definitely in my top 3-4 favorite from the Illusions. I think its perhaps the most definitive song of that era. Love the lyrics, love the arrangement, the self-consciousness. Kind of glad they never played it live- always thought of it as one of those stand-alone relics. They played it live twice as far as I know. I don't think the recording of at least one is very hard to find. I don't know if the other one exists. The only GNR originals I don't like to listen to at all: Shotgun Blues, So Fine, Chinese Democracy, If The World, Riad.Songs that have excellent music in places, but I don't like the song as a whole: It's So Easy, Rocket Queen, Double Talkin' Jive, Back Off Bitch, IRS, BetterI think if I had to pick one song to never hear again it would be Shotgun Blues. p.s. I kind of like My World. EDIT: I hated to say It's So Easy, Rocket Queen, and Better...because then I look like an asshole who for some dumb reason doesn't like "the best GNR songs ever!," kind of like that asshole up there who doesn't like Breakdown, which is easily GNR at their finest. It's So Easy is lyrically challenged, as is Rocket Queen (except for the end). Better, as some magazine put it, is pretty much one of the hardest rocking songs as well as one of the poppiest songs GNR ever put out, which is probably not an easy feat to combine those two qualities, but I just don't really like it lyrically or musically. TeeJay410
Anything goes, shotgun blues, and get in the ring. I also don't really like think about you, too 80's. Perfect Crime, Garden of Eden, Don't Damn Me. Brutal.I feel like those songs plus "Right next door to hell" suffer from serious overproduction. Could have been solid rocking songs but the punch was sucked out of them.

SoNobodyToldYaBaby
Studio version of Double talkin' jive. It just sounds half assed and unfinished.. live version is awesome though . There are quite a few illusion songs that i like simply because they are GNR songs and back when i was obsessed i played them so much that they are permanently engrained into my brain and if i listened to them for the first time in 2013 i really doubt id like them
