Isn't the uncensored Ritz worse quality than the censored version?

Correct.

Actually I've been meaning to post these somewhere. When MTV launched their MTV Music site years ago, they briefly had a few of the Ritz songs up in digital quality. I ripped these in FLAC, and they are the best audio quality you'll find from the gig until MTV finally releases the whole show digitally or on DVD//Blu Ray:

I'm not too familiar with the bootlegs of old GNR. As far as the new age line-ups:

Madison Square Garden 2002 (see Spin's review as to why)

Rock AM Ring 2006

Canada 2010

Philly 2012

Governors Ball 2013

Roxy, Felt or Ritz, though there's a great London show from '87 or '88 too.

Indiana '91 ( <3 that extra rasp, great Estranged and November Rain). RIR II sucks. Paris '92 has my favourite Civil War. Argentina '93 has my favourite UYI-era Nightrain and my favourite YCBM.

November Rain from Argentina is pretty cool, too.

CD era: Rock Am Ring 2006 has a few highlights (WTTJ scream, KOHD, Nightrain), but the LA and Hammerstein shows from Dec 2006 are better overall. There's an amazing Better from one of the LA shows (where Axl says at the beginning "those technical delays were nothing to do with my sorry ass, not tonight), the mix is unfortunately a bit crap which is doubly a shame because Axl is clearly on fire for that song.

Hammerstein TWAT is otherworldly.

Top 2 for me: L'Arc and London '10 with Duff. Magical.

One that wasn't mentioned was middletown 88. Everytime I watch footage on Youtube Axl blows me away. Def my favourite of that era.

Wow. THAT is why Axl Rose is the greatest frontman of all time.
