Kev good luck with the release, I hope you stay safe on your travels,

A headsup, be careful of team Brasil and a woman named Beta, you probably already are aware of them anyway

No idea who they are. Are they on this site...lol. I trust nobody and fear nothing my friend. Let those people bring on the dissing.

They are currently managing guns n roses, so you probably have been in contact with them without even knowing.

" I trust nobody and fear nothing" that's a cool mantra bro

Did you ever get to meet other GNR members?

I knew Izzy, but I think thats all. It was a big scene in 83 in LA.

Beta is Axl's nanny

lol..... shaking in my boots. I'll keep an eye out for a big dissing from her, and then thank her.

Kev the race is on, if you get this out before the official Gnr DVD produced by rockfuel, this will be the first semi Gnr related release in 6 years,

Only the Brazilian gods can stop you now

Kevin for inspiration, I suggest you YouTube the song: Scraped by Guns N Roses , it fits your situation quiet well and it's quiet ironic

After Axl left Rapidfire, were you guys close at all? Did he invite you to any of GNR's early shows? Were you close or have any kinda of relationship with anyone in GNR or associated with it (crew, groupies, etc.). If Axl had stayed in Rapidfire do you think you guys could have "made it"?

Kevin, my question is still unanswered. I'll appreciate an answer when you can! :)

Kevin, if you 'own' all the recordings and you claim Bill Bailey has no legal leg to stand on, how come he was able to block the release for so long? What are those requirements from him that you guys were trying to please?

How many songs were recorded by Rapidfire with Axl? Were they all done in one session, and will they all be on the cd?

What did you think when Appetite because a massive hit album?

Also, when was the last time you spoke to Axl personally.

Said it in the other thread but yeah, the awards could be better. imo there needs to be

an affordable option for the CD itself, even if it's a little on the more expensive side like $25.

I'd say there's also enough of a vinyl record market out there to warrant doing a limited run

as an award, something like 500 copies on opaque/translucent red or something like that, idk.

I mean, given that it's only been up a day the kickstarter seems to be doing well but I'd imagine

it would go over better if it had more & more balanced awards.

Hope to hear the songs eventually though. I'm looking forward to listening to some "new" Axl Rose

material even if it is 30 years old lol.

Thank you Kevin for answering! You are a cool guy and I'm already your fan. Dude, you are part of Axl Rose's life, whether he likes it or not.

Now on a fan side note, I'd like to know how Axl got out of Rapidfire... I mean, when did he move on to other projects, bands, etc. and why did he leave Rapidfire?

Have to agree, sorry Kevin. I'd love to hear these songs, but don't know if I can justify $100 for 5 demos. It's not a huge amount of money admittedly, but I'll probably only listen to these once or twice at most. Throw up a $20 donation for a digital download and I'll pay, otherwise I'll just wait for them to be put on Youtube or for the Amazon release (assuming it is priced regularly).

On the other hand I do think this could be a valuable collectors item in years to come, kinda like like how Izzys "Like A Dog" CD now fetches £100 on Ebay because there are less than 1000 copies "out there" <_< Maybe I should stockpile a few copies to resell in years to come lol.

I might still donate, idk, will wait and see how the Kickstarter goes. Either way I wish you luck, and have reposted the news at GNR Evo (another forum) for you too :) Also I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. All the best :)

The letter he posted explains that in great detail: http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?/topic/207100-mygnrforum-exclusive-kevin-lawrence-rapidfire/?p=3750971

maybe I should just buy the whole first run and you lot can suffer

Why don't you talk to Cleopatra Records and release the album proper like they did for "Hollywood Rose: The Roots of Guns N' Roses"?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Roots_of_Guns_N'_Roses

Would you consider including other Rapid Fire demos/alternate tracks with yourself on vocals?

Cleopatra Records fumbled the ball on the HR release. Id rather do it myself on my own label Street Smart Records and have control. As far as my versions.... maybe Ill master them and see how they sound..... I dunno. Im my own worst critic and Im sure Ill get THRASHED on the boards if I add my versions... Ill have to think about it. But thanks for the suggestion.

Welcome Kevin

Sorry to hear about your brother. You've come across very well in your answers, better than I expected. I don't know why Axl has tried to block this for so long, I guess he has his reasons. I wish you the best of luck in your project, I think a lot of people will view them as very collectible if you succeed in a release.

I don't mean this as a jab, especially since I respect your opinion that if ppl think it's a cash grab they simply shouldn't donate money - makes sense. But, why put "Bill Bailey" on the title? You're clearly profiting from solely using his name. Let's face it, no one would buy it if not putting Bill Bailey on it. It comes off as parasitic. I mean this as a respectful question if it sounds crass.

Hey Kevin, welcome to the forum.

Is there any chance that you could make a porn video using these songs as the soundtrack? As long as it's not gay porn and doesn't have any fat chicks in it, I would pay an absurd amount of money for it!

Bill Bailey wasn't blocking anything. He and his lawyers were threatening and attempting intimidation. Kevin and Joshua were organizing and strategizing for years as to how to release the music in the best way and also gathering what they would need to combat Bill's highly funded legal legal team that could suppress the music's release with pure litigation, stalling it indefinitely. With every legal tool behind them, Kevin and Joshua had readied themselves to punch back the best way possible in court. Unfortunately, Kevin is alone now, but all of his legal artillery is prepared.

I made porn jokes a few pages ago, keep up

I don't know, the question was kinda funny

Look at it like this: Kevin had the vision to hire a brilliant future star performer. Kevin initially set out for musical success and success as a professional musician. However long it takes is circumstantial. And the events that have occurred in the interim are also circumstantial and irrelevant. Axl was his employee in the simplistic terms. Rapidfire wasn't for Axl, so he separated from Kevin's business.

Per Kevin via the rapidfire Facebook:

"I have to admit Im terribly disappointed in the Kickstarter campaign. The word is out and only 21 backers? WTF? If all the "Likes" here gave 30 dollars we would make our goal and release this to the world. $30? Thats a round of beers or dinner for two at McDonalds. I've already spent well over 100K in legal fees, mixing, mastering etc not to mention 11 years of my time and hassle.

Just an FYI if this does not fund through Kickstarter I'll probably shelf the whole thing and nobody will ever hear it. I've always said it's up to the fans. Do you want this or not? Nothing worth anything in life is free.

Man Im disappointed. Oh well. We'll see. Either it gets 20K on Kickstarter or it gets scrapped. Your choice. Happy Birthday to me... Kevin."

How retarded does this guy think the GNR community is?

Kids, if you don't put your toys away, you're not getting any ice cream and jelly!!!!
