spunko12345
I watched Death of a Gentleman. Very thought provoking documentary. It is funny but we as cricket fans can be smug against Fifa yet we have no leg to stand on really. At least Fifa has a general agreement that proliferating their sport (in emerging footballing nations) is for the best. Cricket is literally the world's only retroactive sport, that believes limiting the number of national teams is the way to go! Astonishing! The only sport which is more corrupt is boxing (and that is not saying much)!Remember a few years back when that Stanford fellow was putting up 20 million for a winner takes all one off match between England and the Stanford Superstars. Anyone with half a brain cell could see this flamboyant playboy splashing millions all around the Carribean at the height of the credit crunch might have been an eensy weensy bit corrupt
DieselDaisy
That is on there and they put the issue to Giles Clarke, who by the way comes across as the most ghastly individual ever. He completely flakes out. The thing is, whenever you blame the Indians they immediately play the colonial card: ''just because our IPL is rich and we have the money now for the first time and you are all racists anyhow''. It is us, the Indians and Australia though. What a swiz. I really feel sorry for the other countries which include some mighty cricketing nations such as West Indies and Pakistan who have been shafted in terms of revenue. And what about the associate members?
uncivil war
How do you guys feel about the day/ night test matches? The way of the future?
DieselDaisy
I have not really managed to catch much of the NZ-Aus Test yet - low scoring game I see - but I know there is a complaint about batsmen reading the pink bowl. I'm too much of a traditionalist really; I associate first rate cricket with summer afternoons, lunch and the tea interval.

But having said that, I think day/ night tests will have a place going forward. Especially here in Australia. Crowds are down and so are tv ratings, especially on days outside the weekend. They had to try something and the crowd figures and ratings are positive so far with this first day/night test. Could just be the novelty, though. DieselDaisy
India prepared minefields that turn on the first day in this series.

DieselDaisy
What is going on with you stupid Aussies? 7,000 in the MCG watching a glorious historic game of Test cricket (v Windies) and at the same time there is 40,000+ in the same city watching Melbourne Wankers vs Perth Plonkers or some other nonsense as part of some bashy bashy Americanised nonsense? Shame on you.
DieselDaisy
Good wicket this. Good for bat and ball. PSAm I the only one watching this thoroughly enthralling series? Stokes and Bairstow in today's evening session, best bit of cricket I've seen in a long time - simply brilliant. DieselDaisy
It is sublime:. two mighty nations - England vs S. Africa - and it has seen one of the most remarkable middle order partnerships ever; South Africa are now digging in with attritional old school stuff; yet the sole interest on mygnr for this epic sporting contest consists of me, talking to myself basically! There would be more interest if I started talking about wrestling. Shame on you all. PSThere is nothing in it!! No swing; no turn - dead flat wicket and the match peters out to a dull draw. You must be kicking yourself if you are a batsman who has never capitalised on that. Edited January 5, 2016 by DieselDaisy
DieselDaisy
This Chris Gayle thing is a complete storm in a teacup, typical politically correct hysteria and over-reaction.

DieselDaisy
Apparently England have the Earth Kitts, as have most of TMS and the Sky team. It is the reason Hales is not present. Reminds me of Spurs a few years ago.
sturginho
Are you watching Diesel? Are South Africa on the verge of collapsing?
DieselDaisy
I was listening to TMS. England had the better day and will hope to bowl S. Africa out for under 300. England failed to take wickets with the new ball. They could have bowled S. Africa by now and restricted them to about 240, 250, but they got their lengths wrong. Finn was the pick of the bowlers. Most of the S. African batsman got in, only to go out. It looks a better batting wicket than that; a lot of streaky stuff. sturginho
Oh dear, England are making a right dog's dinner of this.Good job Steyn is not playing in this match, imagine the carnage he'd cause against this England batting line up? sturginho
Stokes gone for 58 just as England were looking strong! Typical!
DieselDaisy
The runs are all going to come from our middle order who are exciting attacking batsman in the Kiwi manner; from Root to Ali, they are all in some form or in stupendous form as in the case of Stokes and Bairstow. Our top three specialist batsmen couldn't buy a run. I almost want England to just lose those initial wickets in order to start accumulating runs - get them out the way. DieselDaisy
It is the recurring problem of Cook's opener and I'm not entirely sure dropping Bell was advisable. Cook is also out of form - again.

This will do me. Wtf has happened to India? They have been very poor this series, particularly the bowling. Just not challenging the batsmen much at all.
