DieselDaisy
Well, England are batting poorly but Australia's innings was so shockingly awful that it does not really matter. You are probably looking at 200 being a decent first innings target haha.

DieselDaisy
I want to see this county cricket that isn't rain dependent!I agree, BBC, Test Matches, there was a connection there. It shows nothing is sacred. Theoretically the Six Nations or Wimbledon could be snapped up by Sky.

Conor
The rugby coverage on ITV is fucking horrendous though, I don't want to see them butcher my precious Six Nations.
DieselDaisy
Nothing is sacred. Sky want to have a completely monopoly on sport. There is no other explanation. They will not be happy until they own the remainder, Wimbledon, Rugby, Olympics, Snooker. I hate that company with a passion. What they do is, if you cancel, is they ring you up and lure you back in with some amazing offer - ''you can get sky for 2 pence a month'' (alright I'm exaggerating but not by much) - and you get your bill and you owe them £80. I have been stupid enough to fall for this trick twice.

DieselDaisy
I'm wondering if England can reclaim the Ashes in a second day? Why not? Root, Ali, Stokes - a lead of 350 more runs and another innings like that! Records are being broken. In a strange way I would almost like England to be bowled out for 350 because I know Cook is not exactly Sobers with the declarations. wasted
Its not enough to win, aussies must be seen to lose if only for about 2 weeks before they win again. Fosters in the air.
DieselDaisy
They will have to rebuild their team again. There is probably about six-seven players there who have played their last test match for Australia - obviously Haddin, Ryan Harris and (probably) Watson are already gone and you can throw onto that list Clarke (as of today), Rogers, Voges, S. Marsh and possibly Mitchell Johnson also who is horribly exposed when he isn't playing on Australian wickets. They have some exceptionally talented players there to build a team around, Steve Smith who should inherit the captaincy, Starc, Hazlewood although he is not quite the finished article. I would consider bringing Siddle back to steady that wayward bowling attack; he can bring some much needed control.I am still unconvinced about Warner as a test player.Regardless of the stats, Root 'best batsman in the world'? Has to be for me. I think he has just surpassed Smith.
DieselDaisy
Well it is an exhibition game so I would certainly rest Jimmy and probably Wood also. Maybe even rest Broad and find room for Plunkett. Try Rashid alongside Ali with one eye on Pakistan. Give Lyth another chance though. Generally keep the batting order intact and just rest the specialist seamers.
sturginho
I do feel bad for Clarke, he seems like a genuinely nice guy, which is why he probably shouldnt be captaining Australia
DieselDaisy
He certainly popularised the term 'funky field setting' if nothing else. Australians are generally hard on their captains; Clarke will probably go down as a failure now like Ponting before him. Australians did not take to him from the beginning when they found out he shaved his chest hair, believing that it was unbecoming behaviour from a role as 'macho' as the Australian cricket captain.Incidentally Cook has improved as a captain - that Sobers style declaration! New look attacking England different from the Andy Flower era conservative run accumulators of old.
