What are the reasons why you think Bumblefoot is finally deciding to leave?

All other reasons are viewed by Ron ONLY in the light of whether or not he's made enough money yet.

If he feels he's made enough money, then he'll leave. But look at the classic leeches, like dizzy and fortus. They've been around forever and will never leave, cuz they know they'll never make money otherwise.

Bumblefoot, a creative and productive player, is the lead guitarist of a glorified coverband that does nothing other than sit around and tour while their other incompetent joke of a lead guitarists lies to fans about the new material they pretend to be recording. On top of that he's a mere employee in a dictatorship of a fat lead singer who sounds shit and doesn't want to put in the effort a rock star should put in to put up a good show because he's too busy eating donuts and talking about his emotional problem with an incompetent Brazilian management team that mooches off him while they insult the fans of the band.

Really, does he need any more reasons than that?

That's enough. Once again a great post.

Because Buckethead really, really wants to come back.

I heard he showed up guitar in puppet on the last Vegas show but Del James kicked him out.

Love this- in fact- please consider this post a mega like, +1, ✔, etc to EVERY reply (and all subsequent ones) on this thread.

I think Bumblefoot has strong opinions about GNR and I think he and Axl didn't agree on them.

I remember an interview with BF saying how he questions Axl a lot and he thinks that's why Axl respected him, but I think after a time, if you don't feel productive to a band, it's time to leave.

If I was a guitarist, I'd be pissed if I had to be in a band where one of the other guitarists couldn't handle playing the same set of songs for over 5 years.

It's probably the equivalent of a kid from Mcdonalds telling Gordon Ramsay how to make a good hamburger.

I made a Ramsay halibut and baby potato recipe last weekend. It was delicious.

1. He has cashed enough touring cheques to be comfortable

2. He has gained enough recognition from mainstream fans to make his solo work and clinic pay a lot healthier

3. He's sick of Axl's dysfunctional operating schedules, where his emails about touring dates go unanswered so he can't even arrange his own stuff

4. He played thru a severe car crash injury and nobody seemed to give much of a shit

5. DJ Ashba is perceived as second in command where he clearly lacks talent and looks like a cliché but is more popular due to social media and radio rock, BBF had a tough initiation period to get his status.

6. Axl's dithering about with new music, seems to have given up in favour of nostalgia old old and new old jukebox picking

7. Too much touring, maybe he's homesick or too stressed and has cabin fever

8. Sharing too much space with the swagmobile himself DJ Ashba

9. Looking across the stage and seeing Ashba do the hogan ears and ruin 4tus and his jam by pounding his chest and downing jager

10. Potential of post traumatic stress disorder developing after being dictated to in songwriting choices on a new record by DJ Ashba. ''The horror... the horror''

11. The Patience solo section is already haunting his nightmares where he wakes up crying softly into a pillow, 4tus comes in and manhugs him, reassuring with the acidic now familiar mantra of 'If we loosen the lighting rig little by little over the residency, it'll look just like an accident or the peculiar shriek of his bending will be assumed as the tragic cause, unique vibrations can...' then DJ interrupts barging in with that permanent ghoul grin plastered across his salesman face. 'Hey you guys, you haven't seen my copy of GNR Lies have you, it's got Slash's signature on, I need to practice that pose he does on Patience.' / 'But DJ, it's a cd, you can always go to yout-' / 'Oh, yeah. Buy my demented beanie hats, go to ashbaswag.com and support your twisted rockstar, be sure to check me out on a tour coming near YOU.' The door slams shut. No old ladies were punched this time. Bumble resumes crying.

Wow. Nailed it.

Great post. Seriously people, this is how it's done.

The guy mixed in facts, with strong opinions, and a few funny lines. Well done.

- 8 years in the band, 0 songs written by him
- 8 years in the band, same setlist since then
- 8 years in the band, 0 album records with his name printed on
- 8 years in the band, no relevant frontmen
- 8 years in the band, 0 chances of any of that changing anytime soon

Oh, and almost forgot, of course, integrity and the fact that he doesn't' want to be the pet of some 52-year-old stubborn kid.

-Boredom

-Diminished pay

-Lack of creative outlet

-Tension with bandmate(s)/management

-Clash with personal bookings

probably a combination of those

Yep.

I think he figured Axl would get his shit together eventually. After awhile, you just give up the ghost.

Ron is a professional first and foremost, and among the things listed on here already I suspect Axl's laziness makes his blood boil.

Ron would never dare go on stage as unprepared as Axl often does, and I am sure it bothers him as much as us that Axl rolls off the couch around tour time totally unprepared to put on the kind of show he should be.

It's a little thing in the grand scheme of things, but how can you expect the employees to give a shit about your business when the owner clearly has contempt for it and those who patronize it.

How is this a band? I'm not saying that for a laugh. It could not be more serious.

This is not a band in any relevant sense. Its a touring band that plays old GNR songs for Axl to sing. What other lifelong musician wants this set-up? The point of being in a band is to create. To put their own thoughts and ideas on record for public consumption. This "band" does no such thing.

If you told him when joined in 2006 that they would yet to spend one second creating as a band in any real collaborative sense, a full 8 years later, would he buy it?

He would if he asked Buckethead, I suppose.

Axl threw away the momentum and credibility they'd gained on the 09/10 WORLD tour, yes world Chinese Democracy tour (part whatever, the album was OUT and it was toured again, extremely successfully). Now we are have lost count and he doesn't even both calling it the CD tour any longer. Even the new songs are nostalgic, it's a complete joke how much time and potential he's wasted. It's a crazy record but about 15 years... this was supposed to be an evolution, 4/5 songs in a set doesn't cut it, Slash plays new songs.

lol since when has speculation or fact got in the way of discussion on gnr forums?

I think Ron not appearing at the recent public outings which had 4tus, dj and other members of gnr as well as Ron not refuting the comments (that he has been made aware of through social media channels) adds some credence to this possibility.

But yes, lets just go with 'allegedly' for now, so why is Ron allegedly leaving then?

I don't think not refuting anything adds any credence to the possibility of him leaving so much as it adds credence to the possibility of him being too busy to deal with the numerous emails, DMs, etc. he gets.

As far as not appearing at public outings, he was at the Nellis Air Force Base meet and great with DJ, Dizzy and Frank today.

But what do we always say about Axl?

Correcting the record takes, what, 2 minutes of your time? If you choose not to, fine, but the speculation will follow. You can't then get salty about it. You are part of the solution or part of the problem.

Ron's probably feeling the same way we all are: angry that this "band" has not progressed one single bit in 10 years or more. He wants to create music for Axl as well as himself. When you pick up a guitar and begin to learn how to play, I guarantee your first thought is not "I want to play in a cover band for the rest of my life." That's the beauty of playing guitar. You can create endless amounts of music. Axl obviously doesn't give two shits about this. I bet Axl hasn't touched his guitar since RIR III.

Who knows anymore really. The Axl Rose (Bad) Experience keeps rolling on.

Bumble's probably frustrated due to being in a band that's unwilling/unable to come up with new material and utilize it on albums and concerts. GnR's become a nostalgia act that's comfortable just playing "the hits" rather than get fans interested in new material by them, and in five-ten years will end up touring casinos playing the same stale setlist everyone's bored of.

Imagine talking to his other musician friends?

They have likely stopped asking what is up with your "band". Because it got too awkward and embarrassing. They have to put a good spin on how you are in a band that writes, records, and releases no music. And how you are seemingly OK with all this.

Don't you think their friends in other bands shake their heads?

Where are we on this?

Watching Bumble on stage in Vegas it's hard to tell he's leaving - the guy is having a lot of fun, and Axl and him interact a lot.

I don't know, I wish there wasn't any rumors on this - it was a bad idea to start them me thinks.

I was thinking exactly the same, it seems like he's in a good place. I hope he's not leaving. Besides Axl (and Duff ;)), he's the one I like the most.

Plus- isn't Bumble tight with Duff (and not all that tight with Tommy)? May well change his mind if Duff's going to start to being around more- and Tommy less... though there's nothing confirmed on that front either or course. Very interesting to me that Duff's playing full-sets including Chinese Democracy songs though...
