SLASH: 'The Only People That Obsess About GUNS N' ROSES Is Media'

Recommended Posts

I don't have to post things that you like for you to be nice with me .... you just need to respect the forum (and society) rules, having a civilized behavior with the others. :)

You're right, you don't need to post things I like. I dislike most of Soulmonster's posts, for example, but I can respect his opinions. When you post stuff like "Slash manipulates the media" or that Slash not being relevant after GNR bullshit, I'm sorry kid, but you lose all the respect.

Like WFA said, the had two huge hits, Grammy nominations, thousands of videos, singles... Maybe you were too young back then. But that's ok.

Shut up Slasherrrrrrrrrr... you wouldn't be able to enjoy this stuff you do now without what GN'R history provided you.

Now you don't care about fame and glory because you already got it, thanks to Gn'R, otherwise you'd be like any other non-famous musician, strugglin' to make a living of music.

I have no beef with Slash, really, but his arrogance bugs me. Its like he rejects and denies his past, as he never wanted to be part of it and this is what he always wanted, to be a laid-back guitar player in a ghost band. Bullcrap.

Hey, what the fuck, Mod Squad? I totally posted in this thread and now it's gone :S.

You sure it was posted? I just went back through the thread and didn't see any posts that had been removed.

On topic:

I think people might be taking what Slash is saying wrong. I don't think he meant "No one cares about GN'R", I just think he meant to say that the media cares more about a reunion then any of the people who were in the old line ups of GN'R do.

Aye, Apollo "liked" it. It still appears in my notifications but clicking on it takes me to the relevant page (page 2) very briefly before returning me to page 1.

I can't say it was too important a contribution to the thread, just a comical dig at Warchild. I did refer to her by name but everyone knows her name anyway...

Sorry about that! I didn't see it when I went back to skim but I did now and I just shot you a PM about it.

We have to admit that this Slash guy has been smart in how he developed, in nearly 20 years, his plan to manipulate the media.

First he left GN'R because his junkie ego was already too big to fit in the band. He just thought he was good enough to be relevant alone. But, shortly, he saw that he needed the media to push him up, and the only way he found to do it was pushing GN'R and Axl down. He talked so many shit that he got unable to play with GN'R ever again ... you can see how smart this guy is ...

But, the truth is, his solo career is going quite well (for a regular musician). So, professionaly, he doesn't need anymore to keep saying shit about Axl, so the plan, now, is something like: "look at me, don't ask me about GN'R anymore, now I have a solo career ... I don't even need my old mates (Duff n' Matt).

Unfortunatly, the truth is that, despite of his current nice solo career, he never did anything relevant again after GN'R .. .and he fucked his chance of ever doing anything relevant again (with GN'R) ... so, now, he just have to be happy with his nice solo career.

But, deep inside, everyone of us know what he would really wanted .... but, is too late, now .... so you better keep saying to the reporters to not ask you about GN'R.

All of your post is filled with pure crap. But the highlighted part is the one that really made me spit my coffee. Dude, two words: Velvet Revolver. How old are you? Are you a new fan? Were you a kid by 2004? I just want to know if you choose to create your own reality or are just too young.

One of the worst posts I've seen here in a while.

Seriously, Velvet Revolver was one of the biggest rock bands of the 2000's I thought. I was a teenager when they were big so my memory may be foggy but I remember nearly everyone I knew liked them, at least the singles. Their contemporaries respected them and the new bands begged to open for them ( I remember a young M Shadows campaigning for A7X to open for them around the time of City Evil). Edited by TeeJay410

If his current singer is truly the "hardest working" signer he's ever known, then that really speaks poorly on said singer considering his body of work. According to Slash, Axl achieved 1,000 times the vocal accomplishments while being "lazier."

I wonder if he knew he was praising Axl lol

Slash is incapable of making any kind of artistic statement that matters without Axl and he knows it.

People care about GNR because its all there is about him to care about.

At least Axl put out something divisive, weird and batshit insane, not the same chuggachugga I R T3H RAwK G0D bullshit Slash churns over every time he doesn't get invited to wank at the Super Bowl.

Pseudo-artsy-Woe-is-Me-Ballads or trend-following-numetal-riff-rock is not really that better than Slash's bluesy rock.

His artistic statement without Axl is called "Contraband" actually, highly-praised album he released with VR some years ago.

He might say that to sound cool, but when around half the songs in his setlists are GnR covers, it speaks otherwise.

He wrote these songs...

So did Axl and yet he gets shit for playing them.

You really can't tell the difference between Slash playing 5 GNR songs max and Axl playing almost AFD in its entirety (besides playing less and less CD material and not debuting any new song) on every single show?

Ooh! I see the difference, I do! Axl plays in Guns N' Roses thus is EXPECTED to play the band's most popular material while Slash plays with the Troubadours or whatever they are called after having quit GN'R 25 years ago. So when Slash is playing GN'R songs - which he is entirely entitled to, and I prefer that he does compared to his own material - then it makes it a bit hard for him to try to distance himself from GN'R :shrugs:

What about when Bucket was in the band? You love Bucket a lot, apparently. I do, too.

Bucket covered GNR songs all the time while he was Axl's employee. The difference, though, is that Bucket was covering songs that slash helped write.

Just curious. You clearly love Bucket and love to ridicule Slash. But your friend bucket took a giant payday to play Slash's work note for note. I'm pretty sure. I've never heard Slash cover "For Mom," which is my favorite Bucket song ever.

Everywhere I go, all I hear is people cranking Sorry. Bars, clubs, sports games, everyone keeps cranking Sorry! It's played at homecoming, at prom, at weddings, at funerals. Katy Perry covered it, and so did lady Gaga. BUT I DONT VANT TO DO EEEET!

You're right, ChiDem is pure genius.

This is a blatant lie, bro

What about him playing Velvet Revolver songs? Are you ok with that? Or Snakepit songs? In your opinion he should only play songs grom Slash, AL and World on Fire?

He isn't complaining about Snakepit or Revolver, but the only track he's bothered playing from either of those projects lately is Slither. If he's got such a problem with his old band, I don't see why he still wants to play their songs.

What about Axl?

Most of the material he plays is from his old band, wrote by old members. hell ,even CD songs written by past members, lol

You're a hilarious nutswinger, though

When i opened the thread and read the OP i just think every Axl defender pointed out this, instead the usual bullshit they say

Actually your point is good, though
