Along with the new album coming out in January and the Blackstar single coming next week (10 minutes in length!), Bowie's also contributed "reworked" versions of older tracks such as This Is Not America to a New York play based around his old film The Man Who Fell to Earth, called Lazarus:

I'd love to see him do one last tour, but it seems like he's sticking with working in the background and just releasing material than touring and doing interviews.

I am very fortunate to be going to NYC next month to see LAZARUS. Is in a very small theater of 199 people. Is going to be one of tnose once in al lifetime performances like seeing GNR at the Brooklyn Bowl. The New York Times had a great article.

Even a one-off show in NYC would be amazing, but I can't imagine him just going out and doing shows again since he doesn't even make public appearances anymore..

Very curious how the new album is going to sound, this new single sounds like it'll sound like something off of Bowie's Low

Saw Bowie in the Boston Fleet Center during his Reality Tour, his last real tour, back in 2004 and would kill for him to do another tour. From what I have read he claims he is healthy so we can all cross our fingers he will tour behind the new album.

I had a Bowie thread going and added the rest of the videos from Next Day on there, adding Blackstar and another song it reminds me of.

i'm extremely excited to hear this record. blackstar was incredible, and i'm really digging this track as well. definitely his most ambitious project in decades. i love the fact that he could have just retired after his last record, but instead he's dishing out some of his sonically most interesting work since the berlin era.

really great stuff.

I guess it's a good thing I saw him with NIN about 20 years ago. I'm a casual fan at best. Would he even be any good performing live these days and how would anyone know since there isn't anything recent to go by?

He won't be performing live, so moot point.

Album's leaked..caved in and listened to the songs on youtube since there isn't an official stream yet

Tis a Pity - Very similar to the demo released last year, but sounds more jungle-like with breakbeats, wild sax and a sped-up tempo

Sue - VERY different with a heavy drum n' bass riff instead of strictly jazz, much of the jazzy vocalless sections have been removed effectively cutting the length of the song in half

Dollar Days - Piano/sax focused track with a mid-tempo riff, Bowie's vocals are fairly strong here with interesting lyrics and an okay chorus

Girl Loves Me - "Where the fuck did Monday go?" Loving the instrumentals and vocals

I Can't Give Everything Away - Another high-tempo drum beat track, with some background synths and sax; vocals are very strong, probably the most "vintage" Bowie has sounded in over a decade

A bit disappointed that the whole album wasn't similar to the title track in terms of being experimental, but for those interested:

8/10 as a whole
