Vegas General Help (Flights, hotels, food, shows, etc)

Recommended Posts

I just booked a travellodge right on the Strip and I was told it's a 5-10 minute walk to the strip. The room includes free breakfast each day. I have two beds and only need one and I will be "renting" the additional bed out to a Gunner who doesn't yet have accommodations at a rate of $65 per day. You can pick one day ,two days or all three. If you have any questions about the hotel, send me a message. Or don't and pay hundreds per night and resort fees! It's up to you.

Booked MGM grand (with the option to cancel) for three nights for £370. Pulled the trigger early as it seemed to be going up.

Thanks for the tips Estranged1.

Staying at the MGM Signature. 190 bucks for two nights, not too bad!

I'm staying there too, but they do have a $71 fee per night resort fee so $190 is a bit misleading. It will be more like $330.

I booked through hotels.com, it is $113 per night, then $71.00 per night resort fee payable at the hotel.

No- it's $30/night and at check out you can usually wiggle out of at least 1 or 2 of the charges...they are pretty good about it. Just about everywhere on the strip has these resort fees....it is what it is...MGM is worth it.

I know, I worked for MGM for 7 years when I lived in Vegas. My resort fee says $71.00 + $113.00 per night. I've looked on every website and booking directly. Not sure how you are pulling this cheap rate.

For those of you booking the Luxor, if you aren't strapped for cash it's worth an extra $20-40 to stay somewhere else. The hotel is ok, but the elevators are so loud so if you decide to sleep at all, you won't. Never staying there again.

A resort fee as high as you allegedly have is illegal in Vegas. This link has every resorts resort fee- http://www.lasvegasdirect.com/las-vegas-hotel-resort-fees.html

Looking at my itinerary now, says $71.00.
I feel like I'm defending MGM- LOL. Call them directly. Ask what is resort fee. +18778800880 or look at their website- https://www.mgmgrand.com/en/faq.html

I booked two rooms, mystery solved.

Oh 1 more thing- book your hotel through the hotel directly. Most hotels (like I think all) offer a no cancellation fee up to 24 hours prior to your check in. Booking through Expedia etc...is normally non-refundable I believe.

And I would reserve now (before prices go up) and check back periodically with hotel because if rates drop they always will honor the new lower rate...at least they always have for me. FYI

How far is the airport from the strip?? Is there only 1 airport to fly into? Cab ride from airport to strip i assume?

Is $680 a person for 3 nights at stratosphere and airfare a good deal for two people from detroit?

Russ, halp

The Stratosphere is at the north end of the Strip. After that it's no man's land until downtown/Freemont-and the surrounding area is kind of crappy, especially at night. Also heading south it's kind of empty for a bit before you get into the thick of things (if you're walking.)

The airport is on the strip, at the end. The venue the concert is at is at the same end of the strip. I booked my rooms at the MGM Signature, which is a property directly behind the MGM Grand. There is only one airport. The venue and MGM is about 2 miles from the airport. You will have to take a shuttle, taxi, or uber from the airport. I used hotels.com for my room, if you are flying expedia.com has some good bundle packages.

The airport is about 7-15 minutes southeast depending on your location on the Strip. However this time can be extended depending on how you're getting there, the time of day, and loading/unloading etc.

Check website and call- see if one is better than the other. Yes-Fly into LAS, it's a $15 dollar/10 minute cab ride to MGM. You can do one of the pre-arranged shuttles too for about same price. Cab line can be nasty long depending on your arrival timing.

I dont have the money today to book the flight, but i want to book my room today before they sell out. Thanks for the help!!! What is the difference between MGM and MGM Signature

Signature is 'nicer' quieter and more like a condo. Separate bedroom, full kitchen etc...but a little longer walk from casino. You get full use of all MGM amenities too.

MGM/Hotel is in the middle of the action Great rooms too. Ask for Grand Tower, NOT West Wing room.

Can't go wrong at MGM.

Signature is a mixed use condo\suite that is built in the back. It originally did not have a casino, but I think it does now. Some rooms are owned by individuals but get rented out by the hotel if they are not living there or visiting. They are more of a suite\bigger as well. It's set off behind the MGM, MGM is directly on the strip, has a massive casino, tons of restaurants and clubs all in the same area. But it's about a 4 minutes walk from Signature.

New York New York is also an option, it's nice and even closer to the venue. I have a backup room booked there, still haven't decided if I am going to stay at the Signature or NYNY.

Love that you have a "backup room" LOL.

The Stratosphere is fine. I stayed there the first time I was in Vegas and it is a little out of the way but it's like a 15 minute walk from the main part of the strip and you can always jump on a bus.

There's a 24 hour bus service that runs from Fremont Street in Downtown (picks up outside the Stratosphere if memory serves) all the way to the end of the strip and back again. It runs every 15 minutes and costs $8 for a 24 hour pass or $20 for 3 days unlimited travel.

Also if you do stay there you've got to try the Sky Jump. Absolutely great fun! :D

I believe there is a boxing match on saturday also. So prices may get insane.

Someone mentioned travelodge. Not sure pricing

Manny Pacquiao fights at MGM that Saturday night. Vegas gonna be crazy busy. All hotels will continue to go up. Also FYI- tonight Luxor is $33 bucks. LOL. Mid week/mid winter. Edited by Estranged1

Stratosphere has some crazy stuff up top for sure. I just think it's a bit detached from the rest of the main area. I stayed there 12 years ago, but if I were visiting today I would not, simply for location.
