Mr_Sparkle
Booked MGM grand (with the option to cancel) for three nights for £370. Pulled the trigger early as it seemed to be going up.Thanks for the tips Estranged1. Staying at the MGM Signature. 190 bucks for two nights, not too bad! I'm staying there too, but they do have a $71 fee per night resort fee so $190 is a bit misleading. It will be more like $330.I booked through hotels.com, it is $113 per night, then $71.00 per night resort fee payable at the hotel. No- it's $30/night and at check out you can usually wiggle out of at least 1 or 2 of the charges...they are pretty good about it. Just about everywhere on the strip has these resort fees....it is what it is...MGM is worth it. I know, I worked for MGM for 7 years when I lived in Vegas. My resort fee says $71.00 + $113.00 per night. I've looked on every website and booking directly. Not sure how you are pulling this cheap rate. For those of you booking the Luxor, if you aren't strapped for cash it's worth an extra $20-40 to stay somewhere else. The hotel is ok, but the elevators are so loud so if you decide to sleep at all, you won't. Never staying there again.A resort fee as high as you allegedly have is illegal in Vegas. This link has every resorts resort fee- http://www.lasvegasdirect.com/las-vegas-hotel-resort-fees.htmlLooking at my itinerary now, says $71.00. Subtle Signs
As of now my hotel is called the Baymont and is a 45 minute walk or a 15 minute bus ride to the arena. On the plus side there's no resort fees. The Travelodge on the Strip is more money and it has terrible reviews. I don't need a 5 star hotel just somewhere clean and comfortable. gunsfanoldie
I was told about a very good deal, but alas it was too good to actually be true. Was told there was a flight for under $200, from Philly to Vegas. Give me the link, I am there! Even with parking at the airport for 4 days that would come out to $250, $150 cheaper than my flight from Jersey.Turns out, you had to buy each seat individually and there was a connection, so that was 4 seats that had to be bought, the cheapest being $12. So add on another $48 to that price and we're up to $300. Now I still probably would have done that. The kicker ended up being they charged $30 for a carry on, a separate fee there and back. Now we're up to $360, and I'm at basically the same price I was at home, and with a ton more hassle to get down to Philly and worse timed flights.Really sucked, cause I was ready to book immediately for an under $200 flight. Turns out those small airlines really know how to get you by being cheap, yet then charging for every single individual piece of your flight, to come out to something similar to the big airlines. Frontiers almost had me, but I will continue the search! $350 is still the price to beat or match.
ZoSoRose
Is $680 a person for 3 nights at stratosphere and airfare a good deal for two people from detroit?Russ, halp
RussTCB
Is $680 a person for 3 nights at stratosphere and airfare a good deal for two people from detroit?Russ, halpI'd say so, yeah. You'll probably still have resort fees, but I think they're around $25 a day there. I've stayed at the Stratosphere before and it was fine. The biggest drawback is that you're at the very north end of the strip so cab rides will be a little more expensive. Every time you get in a cab, I'd tell the driver that you want them to take Sahara to Paradise to Harmon to Las Vegas Blvd which will cut back big time on the total for the cab ride. Estranged1
Is $680 a person for 3 nights at stratosphere and airfare a good deal for two people from detroit?Russ, halp Try and get closer to the arena. Strat is way down at end of strip. Much more fun in heart of strip and you'll save on cab fares.

Estranged1
How is Excaliber?Never spent much time there....only walked through casino. Depends what is important to you- just a warm bed or what? I stay where I stay for many reasons, namely the kick ass pools, convenient location on strip, great casino, tons of restaurants etc...I could go on. I know I've mentioned MGM on here but it kicks ass. 10 min from airport, has it's own concert venue (where I usually see bands-ACDC, Bon Jovi etc..), it's across street from where Guns will play, great strip location, 5 pools and a lazy river, casino is really nice, full scale of restaurants from fast food to high end steak houses and a craft beer place.....it just kicks ass. Mandalay is nice, Mirage, NYNY....Ceasers and Bellagio to high end/fancy for me. Edited January 27, 2016 by Estranged1
