Please share in detail how you arrived at that brilliant piece of insight! Well, there is very little grit, or drive in his voice. During the stream while reaching for some of the higher and gritier parts, I clearly heard those voice cracks that started to happen while he was with AC/DC. Overall, he used his falsetto again for most of the show, a voice that many posters here think sounds a bit like the disney character Mickey Mouse. Come on guys, seriously now. Something is up with Axl's voice. He is trying, the shows are still good, but there is something off about him this leg. Hopefully Ron Anderson, his vocal coach, is there to help him get through that and improve, and not simply as a visitor.

Popular Post TheDemocracyRose
Short review... I was there... Its s fuckin long show... The sound was from bad to great. Im a Axl fan but Slash stealed the show. Amazing. That tone and sound. Axl sounded fine and the clean voice was strong. He didnt use much rasp but it doesnt matter when youre there. Over all it was really great and dont miss it... 3 minutes ago, AlexC said: Wow, with the size of that setlist they must've played until midnight if they started at 9ish. 3 hours.
Mark1989
His vocal coach streamed NR. That to me confirms it must be a conscious effort to sing with those clean vocals. He sounds good not the CD material (no surprise). He could do it if he wanted too. His voice is still there Imo

Popular Post calle_st
Great show! It is really strange that Axl sounds like Mickey on some videos because you cant hear that live. Civil war was great live but when I listen to a video i recorded I hear Mickey. I guess you need to see them live.

Popular Post lenni19
Here is my review ? A friend of mine and myself was driving 4h to get to Kopenhagen, we found our parkingspot pretty fast and went of to the arena. Infront already were a lot of gnfr fans with t-shirts. After we got into the arena we had to battle some secouarty to get to our spot ? we had a very good spot, about 20 meters away from the stage ride in the middel of it. Guns went on a little later than they normaly do on this Tour but fuck it, the excitement was just getting biggger and bigger. Finally the guns were firing and guns went on stage with its so easy. The show was amazing, after easy we heard mr. Brownstone and cd. Than we heard the first notes of jungle, axl was screaming so loud, his lunges seams to explode and so did my ? this performance of jungle was pure gold it was breath taking. To hear coma the second time live was super amazing to me, but this time i had the feeling that most people in the crowd were not even knowing wich song they were playing. But my personal Highlight for this show was civil war, it was so overwhelming that i had to cry. The emotion coming from the band just hit me so hart that tears were streaming down my face. Another Highlight were ycbm people here can say what they want but for me that song live is one of the best things in the setlist. On paradise city a guy next to me had a break down, so i had to help him up and check if he was ok, that was the only thing on that concert wich was not cool at all. The good thing is he was doing alright after that so we were rocking paradise city together ? After the show finished i could not speak, my legs were in a hell of a lot of pain but thats what we there for, right? ? Overall the concert was amazing it was phernormanal, the band sounded great. Axl and tbe rest of the band were super happy, everyone was smiling and had a great time. I cant wait to see guns the next time, hopefully pretty soon. I hope you had fun reading my review, i wish you all a great day ?

Civil war was great live but when I listen to a video i recorded I hear Mickey. I guess you need to see them live. That's because the processing of the files smoothes out and flattens the sound. I said that before. Live Slash's guitar sound is sharp, edgy and it ends up much smoother and velvety on the videos. The same happens to Axl's voice but there it takes away a little bit of the raspy finish to the sound and turns it into something more Mickey. It's a subtle change but in case of his voice a hell of a lot of difference. On many songs I have recorded he still sounds great on the phone and after uploading on the computer already much worse. DieselDaisy
The problem with your theory is the bootlegs from the classic era were recorded and proliferated with technology a heck of a lot poorer than today, often upon equipment nothing more advanced than a simple cassette recorders, and the boots with AC/DC were recorded on the very same standard of equipment! In both circumstances he sounds fantastic.

As for ACDC he just sings with more rasp there and that's why. But the ACDC rasp is not like his old rasp at all (thos he just doesn't have anymore) and I would personally hate to hear it in GNR songs because it just doesn't fit them at all... He's doing the right thing not singing like that.

I'm not really an expert on his various 'rasps' but I thought he sounded like the old Axl on the AC/DC boots.

Carburetta
It was a cool show, particularly enjoyed Slash's solo spots this time. The cover situation is getting a bit ridiculous though imo, why are they playing Whole Lotta Rosie? It is almost like they find it too hard to play there own songs (maybe there is politics as to what they play?). Plus the reality is that as much as we would love Perfect Crime, Locomotive, they are not songs which would translate well in a stadium setting and maybe songs like Rosie are actually a better fit? I know 3hr set, etc etc but I just feel they should be playing more Guns N' Roses songs, maybe though, they play about as much as we can handle! Or that they just don't like some alternative cuts.
